Paxgens vs. Landish: Trade Discussion
The Paxgens Council has sent the delegate Mortimer Etamolpid to a neutral area to meet with an emissary from the Kingdom of Landish to discuss trading options and treaties.
When Mortimer arrives in the clean governmental building he relizes he is early, and with a nod from the security guard, he enters the appointed room. Laying down his suitcase on the table, he thinks *On behalf on Paxgens, I hope this goes well and does not sour. For the sake of The Greater Nova York ,also to prevent such infighting over petty trade squabbles as have already occured, I pray to end this happily.
Then he waits for his Landishian counterpart.
The Landishian emissary walks into the room and sits across the table from Mortimer. He is eager to began the trade, and seems to be in a hurry. He opens a file-folder on the table and pulls out some papers and decides to let Mortimer to have the first word.
Mortimer smiles "Excellent for you to have made it honored councilor, may I have the pleasure of your name before we continue?"
"Of course, the name is Montif Montague, lets begin."
"Excellent, I am Mortimer, Mortimer Etamolpid. What are you prepared to offer in exchange for our research regarding the practice of cloning. Do keep in mind that the UN has passed a resoloution giving clone and bioengineered individuals all the rights of a 'normal' biological person and citizen, and thus as a member of the United Nation you would be subjec to the resoultion assuming you developed clones from our research."
Mortimer smiles, not quite pleasently, and begins to undo the lock on his black laether suicase.
"Cloning, thats very good but in our comunity of people we see cloning as an act thats not to be comitted without serious consequences. It is immoral as I see it, I am sure to say I am speaking on the behalf of all our citizens."

"Ah, I see, well each to their own I say. Perhaps you, then would be prepareed to offer knowledge or goods that could, perhaps, intice me to part with some of the other secrets that I am authorized to provide? How does that sounds Master Montague?"
Mortimer fingers the suitcase meaningfully while he speaks.
"Since our countries border each other I think it is safe to say we are friendly neighbors. We are also among some of the smaller countries out in this region and need, as I see it, a good military position over some of the evils of the region. I propose a military alliance against borderline threats."
"Yes, whille I believe we are safe from most unquietness in our most glorius and allied region of Greater Nova York, should such time as a regional member turn against us, I am prepared to stand firm in our mutual border defense. This is likewise applicable if we are attacked by another region or coalition, though likely in such a case our stronger members will bear the brunt of the assualt. In fact I propose a military exchange program. 2% of all my military forces can and will be shipped to your military establishments on the condition that 2% of yours come to mine."
Yes I agree to the proposition.
We also need to set up military posts along the northern front of our borders. We border east to west (Landish on the western side). We need deffence on the north.
"This is a truth that is not well thought out. We have nothing but the wilder lands bordering us on the northern front and thus I think it would be a waste of time, money and personnel to establish forts there. Unless our intent is to expand our northward borders, which at this point is not the focus of Paxgens. Instead I propose we build southern outposts in case of a mutiny or invasion frrom other parties, stemming from that location. Is that satisfactory?"
True, true. The south is a dangerous land. Well let there be post there then. Agreed. Would you also be willing to seek expansion due south with our alliance?
"While I agree that the southern areas of our planet are dangerous and I would be willing to expand in the southeast and south west directions, though not directly south for fear of ireing our southern neighbor."
Mortimer looks around at the room brefly, pausing on the Yellow, Green and Blue of the Turetel flag.
