Official Announcement of the National Rifle Association of Allanea

It is usually the case that governments are the ones that initiate peace and reconciliation between nations. However, this is not always the case. Today, we are happy to announce one more exception to this rule: the opening of the annual NRA/HFA Haven Machinegun Shoot. Together with our Hattian friends in the Hattian Firerarms Association and liaisons from the World Rifle Association, we have agreed to start an annual military weapons collectors convention. It will be conducted alternatively in Hattia and Allanea. For this year, the convention will take place near the Allanean town of Gear Creek, Nortonia, at a local firing range owned by the Allanean Resort tourist resort network. The convention will last a week and will include a gun show, range access, and submachinegun competition. The Allanean National Rifle Association will also be there, sponsoring a raffle for an antique 1917 Browning machinegun. Anybody buying an entrance ticket to the convention will participate in the raffle.

Next year's Haven Machinegun Shoot will take place outside Petrograd, Hattia.

The HFA has successfully organized voting rallies to get the reduction of Allanean travel restrictions reduced. After a session of Congress and once the restrictions were down. Many HFA members have reported asking and aquireing tickets to Allanea from the government.

This event should be beneficial for both nations involved.

Members from the Kaukolastani Sag Arms Corporation wish to attend this conference, and perhaps even host a booth. They believe this would be an excellent chance to meet others in the field, and to demonstrate the capabilities of their caseless and specialty weapons to potential customers. As firm believers in the advancement of ballistics technology, Sag Arms Corporation would be very grateful to share their convictions on the possibilities of the future of firearms.

Official Announcement of the Allanean National Rifle Association

Sag Arms is certainly welcome at the Haven Machinegun shoot. If you are setting a booth, please be prepared for the fact all conventional weapons are legal for civilian possession here - thank God - and do provide the service framework for people willing to buy even the most "non-civilian" of your products. For example, Allanean Arms Corporation puts up a computer catalog of all their goods in their booths, from Teacher's Special pistols to Ann Coulter Mark III fighter jets. We would gracefully ask you follow the same format.

The Sag Arms Corporation Weapons Line (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=149816&highlight=)

Sag will be more than happy to provide any of these weapons for individual or group purchase. While only dealing in small and medium arms, the Sag Corporation believes in extreme quality. Every gun is machined to match grade and calibrated by a fully trained Master. These are not cheap weapons, the finest weapons for the finest users.

Individual weapons, even original designs, can be created for a fee determined by the requests. Sag will personalize and stylize every model of weapon, even changing the composition of the propellant to provide a unique muzzle flash, so you can showcase with every shot. The only requirements to own an Sag weapon are: No prior criminal record in Kaukolastan (includes alliegance to a known terrorist group with anti-Kaukolastani objectives), and proof that they can handle the weapon, such as a weapons license from any respected nation.

Valentino walked with his hands in his trousers pockets alongside his nine-year-old son who was walking in a curiously exact manner, it looked somewhat eeree, this pair of albino looking gents, long straight hair, walking side by side, the only instantly recognisable difference being that one only came up to the other's belly. they were accompanied by one rather scrawny looking guard, nervously shifting his eyes looking at everyone like a potential threat. and of course these were his sentiments exactly!

Valentino had decided to come with scarcely one tenth the security he normally demanded and the guard could almost feel his Five-seveN shrink as he saw a guy dragging what looked like 2 M249's welded together with the most bizarre array of optics he'd ever seen mounted all over the thing. Valentino's answer to his security concerns had been "well, if anyone draws a weapon on a respected foreign leader in a place like this, they'd have to identify the corpse with a straw". He wasn't sure quite what the straw was for but the answer satisfied him for the time being anyway.

They reached the firing range and Valentino dropped the suitcase he was carrying and opened it out, revealing it to be the young successor's new guns. Angelus (son) reached out for them and the Archduke playfully slapped his hand away and pulled them out. He tossed one (minus clip) to his son and examined one himself

"I don't like this plasticky feel at all, isn't that what your piece is made of George?" he nodded "Hmm, can't beat wood or stainless in my opinion," he laid out an ornate sawn off over-under shotgun and a polished stainless steel Skorpia .50 pistol. "Dad, why is the shotgun sawn off at diagonally like that?" he congradulated his son on his use of the word "diagonally" then explained, "so I can stab with it at close quarters". this seemed to satisfy his inquisitive son. "now, Normally during, *whispered* what we do with these things */whisper* your new gun would be loaded with one of these," He held up a shiny bullet, "teflon coated except at the very tip which is silver melted down from an antique catholic cathedral cross, 'they' aren't too keen on silver as you know. alas, the teflon is neccessary because they've discovered kevlar. We used to use exploding hollow tip silver bullets but err..."

Angelus lolled his head back and feigned a snore, Valentino sniggered, "okay okay, we can shoot things now. they're just loaded with crap right now cause it's cheaper" he handed his to Angelus who pointed them down the range at the man shaped target, while his Dad instructed him on taking the safety off, bending his arms right, then to line up the lazers and to squeeze the trigger about halfway, each fired a single shot, he instructed him to pull it the full length and they burst into automatic, the modified 70 shot clips emptying remarkably fast and tearing the paper target to peacemeal, Angelus was strangely hardly affected by recoil aside from being pushed back about a meter.

"hmmm,very nice, but maybe grippier shoes are in order, let's go take a look around for some," Valentino picked up both his own guns and crossed his arms over, he blew a target on the lane next to him that was halfway to the end off it's hanger with the shotgun and squeezed off the skorpia clip into his own much further target before tucking them back into his coat and looking for a place that might sell some stout boots.

The Lord Commander of Ximea, clad in a very dark gray overcoat, fedora and sunglasses, had come alone. Finding AllaneaCon largely uneventful, he felt his bodyguards would not be necessary here. Besides, where can one be safer than in a place brimming with gun enthusiasts?
As he walked towards the ranges, he overheard a (very pale) foreign dignitary, perhaps even a national leader, talking with his son. He paid the two no mind until he heard the word "teflon." Since his name (at least, the one on public record) was Teflon Don, the word piqued his interest. Listening further, he became intrigued. The father, it seemed, considered himself a hunter of...things...that, as far as the Lord Commander knew, were mere legends. The man took himself so seriously, though, that the Lord Commander was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.
As he approached, the pair left the ranges, heading toward the vendors. Damn, Teflon Don thought. He wanted to talk to them, learn more about just what they thought they were hunting. They seem pretty interesting...
He looked at the two custom handguns he had brought, looked at the ranges, and looked at the receding father and son. Hell, those targets aren't going anywhere, he thought. He'd follow the odd albino "hunter" and his son.

RDMA (Red Dawn Mercenary Army, the organization MS is made up of) delegates arrive at the convention, headed by the ever-surly General Jeff G. Garand, a former USMC general with a taste for Kentucky bourbon & the innate ability to use the term 'F**K' as a noun, pro-noun, adjective, conjunction, and adverb, as well as its typical verbal useage.

As was the general's typical style, he wore a Mk 23 SOCOM, a Heckler & Koch design produced without licensing in the numerous weapon factories in the sprawling RDMA base centered in the Badlands region. Opposite the handgun was a battered silver flask bound with faded black leather. The custom shoulder rig was made from top-quality tooled leather. Uniform-wise, the general sported a polo shirt & a pair of Docker-brand khakis. At the age of 63, Garand had slowed down somewhat from his days as a front-leading leader, but he could still kick the ass of most of the green recruits that filed into the RDMA training center on a regular basis. He stood at a tall 6'1", his muscular frame weighing around 210 lbs.

With an angry glint in his cool brown eyes, he waved for the two uniformed soldiers behind him to follow, the two men hauling a pair of large cases each, containing a prototype squad-level support weapon for Close-Quarters-Combat (CQB)... The Arachnid Personal MiniGun, or PMG. It was a small, belt-fed weapon chambered for either a 9x19mm parabellum round or a 5.7x21mm round, but was avaliable in most of the more common pistol-caliber rounds. A tiny electronic motor kept the six barrels spinning slowly after start-up, lessening the time between trigger-pull & actual firing of rounds. The weapon weighed around eighteen pounds unloaded, and was around 60 inches in length. It was fed by an under-hanging plastic box, similar to the M249 SAW's ammunition container, which kept the 300 round belt in a manageable state.

As non-chalant as ever, the general pushes his way through the throng, waving angrily for his struggling escorts to hurry up...

“Step right up here, folks, and take a try on this Needler Personal Defense Weapon.” The Sag sales engineer stated, showcasing the wall of weapons. “You sir, would you like to try this weapon out on the range?” he pointed to the firing range. “Take a spin with the N-point-zero-one Needler PDW.”

The man proffered the small gun. A molded ergonomic pistol grip flowed into a slide-less body, while a thin but long clip extended from three inches forward, with molded grips on it as well. The front of the gun was a tri-barrel gatling assembly, and vent ports showed beneath. The ambidextrous selector was locked into safe, with a five round burst and full automatic selections above. There were two other ambidextrous switches, one for the clip drop, and the other for the barrel release.

The salesman spoke with extreme confidence. “See the difference Sag can make.”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Another salesman spoke to the Allanean representative, “No need to purchase. Sag will provide you with ten Needlers for testing. We don’t need payment now, because we’re confident you’ll believe in our system.” The engineer smiled. “Take a test on this weapon. You’ll see!”
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

A third man, a design engineer, was setting up a man shaped Jell-O mold inside of a full police Bomb-Suit, while another engineer prepared a N.01 for firing. A crowd was gathering, and a timer was ticking towards zero, with five minutes to go before the demonstration.
Kaukolastan
27-06-2004, 07:07
The demonstration was ready at the Sag booth. Inside one of the ranges, a suit of full body bomb-squad armor was standing, with a Jell-O mold inside. In front of the suit, a weapons engineer paced, holding a safed N.01. “As you can see, this is a real suit of heavy armor. Level five, if you know the terms. This armor will stop whirling shrapnel, explosive concussions, and even seven point six two rifle shots at close range.” He glanced to the gathered crowd. “Does anyone wish to inspect the armor?”

A man in the crowd stepped forward, walking up to the suit. After giving it a once over, he nodded. “I was in the HCPD, and this is the real deal.” He rejoined the crowd.

”Any others?” There were no more, and the engineer smiled. “All right then, this is the N.01 Needler PDW.” He held up the small submachine gun, lifting a long clip next to it, and then slamming it into the receiver. The clip clicked into place, and a slight hum moved through the gun, the tri-barrels clicking once as they fell into alignment. “I’ve loaded the weapon with a standard one hundred and twenty round clip, double stacked with two millimeter tungsten carbide needles.” He flipped the red laser online, aligning it onto the armored suit. “Now, I’m using the default laser sight, and I’m going to show you the effectiveness of this weapon.” There was a click, and the selector flipped into fully automatic mode.

As the safety flipped off, a small charge, stored inside of a coil loop behind the chamber, traveled into the emitter prongs, holding away from the gap sparker. A single caseless round sat in the chamber, a block of molded explosive with a round embedded inside. The two prongs were straddling the round, and the camber was sealed from the clip by a resistor, while alignment with the tri-barrel was guaranteed by resistor plates that aligned with the correct positions. As the trigger was pulled, the prongs charged, the spark leaping across the gap, striking the block of propellant. The molded explosive detonated, the tungsten carbide Needle lunging free, spinning from the barrel and emerging on its ballistic course. The barrel, driven by the venting gasses, clicked into the next position, bringing the second barrel into position. As the barrels were in mid-spin, the plate separating the clip slid away, and another round sprung into the chamber, the plate sealing after it. The motion of the barrels drew a charge from another magnet over the top of the gun, the charge flowing back into the prongs as the alignment was attained. All parts in alignment, the prongs sparked again, and the cycle repeated.

Every piece of this motion happened in microseconds, and a lick of bright blue flame ripped from the end of the barrel, nearly a foot in length. The air was pierced with the scream of over a hundred rounds, firing too quickly to identify. In under a second, the first eighty rounds were gone, and the next forty were gone before the second hand could move again. The engineer gripped the forward pistol grip tightly, and the barrels slowed down, and then stopped, storing the charge inside the prongs. With a flick, the clip dropped away, and the red-hot barrels fell free.

The suit of bomb-squad armor was no more. Slight pieces of the armor, none bigger than a finger, were scattered in a twenty foot cone, and gooey bits of Jell-O dripped from the back wall, which was itself riddled with the needles, unstopped by the armor and still two inches deep in the cement wall. The last piece of Jell-O slipped from the boot of the armor, and even it was pulverized by the lethal spray of rounds.

The engineer flipped the release switches, and the clip fell down, while the smoking red-hot tri-barrels plunged from the front. The engineer slapped another clip into the bottom, and in a second smooth motion, placed another barrel assembly on the front, twisting slightly clockwise. There was a click and hum, and the gun was ready to fire again less than a second after it had discharged every round. He flipped the safety into place.

“Any questions?”

Hattian Minister of War Zhukov and the chief of police (In the capitol) Morozov had arrived a few minutes ago. They had been walking around, inspecting the wares. Zhukov had a rather large PK machine gun slung over his shoulder, while Morozov had a HBR-5 Sniper Rifle.

They had wondered up to the crowd that was watching the SAG booth. They had also seen the weapon demonstration. If it was anatomically possible, Morozov's jaw would have been on the ground. He strode up to the sales representative. "That's a very nice weapon." he said, pointing over to the Needler. "I am the Chief of Police in the capitol of Hattia, and I think that weapon would suit our needs perfectly. You see, in my country, heavy weaponry and armor are readily available. Often we face heavily armored criminals, and the resulting firefight results in the death of civilians. And well..." He pointed over towards where the suit of armor had been. "It seems that your weapon works quite well. I'd also like to buy one for my personal use."

Over by the (State owned) Hattian Arms Corp. booth.

Along with a large inventory of Russian and various other weapons. The representatives were demonstrating some domestically developed and manufactured weapons, such as the HAR-5 Rifle, the main rifle of the Hattian military. Also on display was the HDSS (Hattian Defensive Sentry System) basically a remote controlled rifle, mounted on a tripod. One of the testers fixed up the HDSS. He then picked up a small laptop computer and turned it on. On the gun itself, a few small lights started blinking.

The tester then went in front of the booth and sat down. He began moving a small joystick on the computer, and the gun moved also. After finding the targets (It is also equipped with an infrared scope.) he pressed the fire button several times. The 30.06 rounds flew straight through the center of the targets, making very small groups. He smiled and stood up, "Anyone want to try it, defend your home without exposing yourself!"

Seeing the N.01 Needler PDW demonstration, Valentino began to practically sprint to the booth,"Needles! that's EXACTLY what we need!" but he stopped his stride when he heard "Daaad!" caled after him, stopping, "Ah yes, boots, uhhh, tell you what. Take this *he handed him a number of orange notes from a money clip* that should be more than enough... if they don't take our money here come back here and i'll put it on the card". They separated, not needing to arrange to re-meet, they both had a phone with them. Reaching the booth Valentino raised his hand for the "any questions?"

"yes uhh, you sir"

"Is that ammunition expensive? is it easy to get hold of? do you offer any other type of round?"

An interested person asks about the Uzi-2 to a representative of Jeruselem Small Arms industry rep at the firing area of exhibit. The rep loads an UZI-2 with a full clip of blank 9 MM ammo. They both put on gloves and the rep chucks the gun into a pile of sand and then sticky mud. He gives the gun the person and asks him to fire it at the target area. The person look dubious about the gun firing but gives it go. Sure enough the UZI-2 fires without problems.

The rep hoses off the gun and cleans while explaining how the UZI-2 is improved over the UZI. The customer looks impressed.

Meanwhile another rep is showing off some new MP-5 accessories and new 9 MM ammo.

Another rep shows a customer a Nokia mobile phone and points it at a target 2m away. He dials a specific number and a gun inside the mobile goes off hitting the target with minimal noise. He takes out the battery and removes a .22 shell. Customer asks if it actually works and the rep puts back the ver small battery. He dials the local time service number and the call goes through.

To the Hattian:

"Well, sir, we have the paperwork for bulk orders right here." The rep pointed to a small PDA. "If you could just fill that out for the amount of weaponry you require, and the adress you'd like it shipped to, I can send it back to the factories to be delivered within two weeks." He handed over the PDA. "And for your personal weapon, sir, we can provide you a normal N.01 for four hundred credits, or a custom weapon for an additional fifty, including ivory grip and Banshee vents on the clearing system."

To Valentino:

"The Needler ammunition is actually quite affordable. A clip of sixty rounds costs equivalent to a normal clip of nine millimeter parabellum. The smaller size and our experience with caseless rounds lowers the higher manufacturing cost of the insertion design. We can easily ship this round wherever you need it, or if need be, we can arrange to set up a partnership with another company to produce ammunition closer to your location, if the order is large enough to offset cost. The guns are the only part that we feel must be kept inside of the original facilites. For other types of rounds, we also offer a lower velocity, "soft" round to lower penetration in close areas, but the tungsten carbide always seems to be more popular."

Another question: "What about the noise? That was pretty loud."

"Well, we have to side vent the gasses, to clear the chamber of excess powder, and to lower recoil. We can install baffles on the vents, and lower the noise, but it would raise recoil. We can also install "Banshee" whistles, which make the weapon louder, and produce an ear splitting shriek, perfect for warning others of trouble."

Another question: "Do you have a stocked version?"

"Yes. But, if you'll stick around, we'll demonstrate the Commando Carbine, which will fulfill the offensive role of the Needler technology. We'll be setting up for another demo then."

(OOC: I'll put the demo up at Eight PM, Eastern Standard)

The Imitoran representative walked past the needler booth without breaking his step. It did in around a hundred shots what his weapon, or more specifically the weapon of the ICMC, could do in three. In the chase carried at his side was a CAR-42, the standard weapons of the ICMC 1st SOU-D. He didn't bring with him the weapons of the other units in the ICMC.

At his back, in a custom set of dual holsters, were two heavily modified Kimber Custom Eclipses. Physically, they looked like regular Eclipses, a sexy hand gun none the less, but upon closer inspection an expierenced smith would notice the difference. Each gun had internally mounted weights and ballances to counteract recoil and slide action. Each grip had been custom fit to his hands. The triggers had been dropped and dialed in at an exact .257 pound pull. The barrels had been poished and ported, relined and set for match accuracy. They fired rounds from a 15 round magazine of match grade depleted uranium (non radioactive) .45 caliber ammunition.

He continued to browse the show, and came across a sight booth. He needed a new sight for his own CAR-42.

The Lord Commander considered a moment. Would he be able to find the hunter and his son again? Did he dare pass up an opportunity to shoot with the man who organized this very convention?
"Sure," he said. As they headed toward the rifle range, he wondered whether Mr. Preston would know anything about the pale hunter, and how he could broach the subject.

One of his escorts, a private by the name of Kelso, loaded one of the PMG's & stood by to fire. Garand seated himself on the table, then turned his attentions to the passing spectators, yelling at them to come & look at his nation's wares. Kelso let loose on a simple paper torso target, shredding it under a hail of 9x19mm parabellum hollowpoint rounds.

Clearly, the Arachnid was a fearsome CQB weapon, but highly inaccurate over anything beyond thirty feet. With a cyclic ROF of 1200 RPM & a deliverable ROF of 900 RPM, it would chew through its 500 round belt in a few moments if one was not careful with the trigger...
