President Announces Agressive Economic Policy
Today President James Stuart announced plans for a massive coordination with business leaders and economic ministers to begin an export blitz against growing foriegn competition within the Confederacy to flood world markets with Confederate products, ranging from computer chips to brooms to aircraft.
In addition to this, in the spirit of globalisation, many Confederate businesses have begun to export manufacturing jobs, as was done with agriculture, to foriegn nations to circumvent import tarrifs and to provide even cheaper products to the world market.
To help support these efforts a large section of the government budget is being directed to subsidize the economy in any faltering areas and spark a revitalisation of the capitalist system within the nation. Further compacting foriegn competition's efforts are new strict tarrifs against foriegn goods, with money from tarrifs going directly to Confederate business.
Also, so the President tells us, legislation has been passed barring all foriegn companies or citizens to purchase shares of Confederate business. Current shareholders will be allowed to keep thier shares, however. Although foriegners can not buy into Confederate business, COnfederate business has been given moral and monetary support in the mass purchasing of several foriegn corporations, in an attempt to monopolize the market.
