Military Coup
GGN Corporation -- 1 Day Broadcast Latency In Effect
"21st June 2004
At roughly 1730 hours today, GGN reporters were alerted to a successfully military uprising in the nation of Gorkon.
To all who have knowledge of the previously isolationist Gorkonian nation, a ruthless monarch had reigned supreme for over six centuries, imposing his or her will on the people. At one point in time, it was a powerful nation, comparable to European nations of the 15th / 16th century. But as these nations adopted more productive governmental systems, Gorkon fell behind. Worse still, mass executions every few decades were carried out on the nations population in order to keep fear present in all.
The only true organisation besides the Palace of Monarchs and its staff was the military. A highly organised army, the military originally helped the First King to take control of the nation, and have been loyal since.
However, recent actions carried out by the Monarch and his Elite Royal Guard have disgusted even the military. Income taxes rose to record highs of 59%, plunging the richest of citizens into desperate poverty. The powers of the military were going to be cut significantly, it was revealed, and ultimately the High Command could take no more.
At approximately 1600 hours today, the military stormed the Palace of Monarchs, obliterating the Elite Guard. Initial casualties were high, as the Guard had various bunkers and entrenchment’s protecting the Palace, but Military Armoured divisions cut through these and pressed on. By 1730 hours, the Commander of the Military himself placed the Monarch under arrest and ordered his execution.
Military High Command have vowed to restore basic human rights, starting with lower income tax. Currently the military is the largest employment sector in Gorkon, accounting for some 35% of the population (although, only 20% of the population are actual soldiers), so Military funding will not be cut. Instead, those funds that previously went into keeping the Monarch in food and luxury shall be redistributed to healthcare and education, while the Military take the role of the Elite Guard as police force.
The Palace of Monarchs is being converted into an appropriate governmental building. Its historical value is not marred by its previous occupant, and will be restored after all the battle damage inflicted upon it. High Command is currently in the process of moving there. They have renamed the Kingdom of Gorkon to 'The Armed Republic of Gorkon’, and organised memorials for all those lost at the hands of the various monarchs over the centuries. The Commander in Chief has thanked the people for their support of the military, and has vowed to make Gorkon the great and prosperous nation it was destined to be.
Anybody planning to visit Gorkon has been advised by High Command that the remainder of the Elite Guard have begun staging terrorist attacks against key public facilities in an attempt to destabilise the new government and, they hope, to free the Monarch before his execution next week."
Official Response from the Camewottian Government
Although we do condemn a coup like this, the Government will be pleased to help in any possible humanitarian operations or trade with the New Government, we await youre response
Humanitarian aid would be appreciated, especially in light of the terrorist war currently being waged by the remnants of the Elite Guard. We are in the process of hunting them down and eliminating them, but in the mean time, they are bombing military and civilian alike without warning, and casualties are mounting. We have next to no healthcare facilities available besides those made available to the Monarch and his family, so we would very much appreciate medical supplies and, if at all possible, personnel.
Trade agreements are welcomed, but for now these are secondary priorities being shunted to the newly-created foreign affairs department, which is currently un-staffed -- your proposal has been filed and is awaiting attention.
We thank you for your assistance, Camewot.

Official Statement of the Emperor of the Lightning Star
The Emperor has decided to help the newly appointed government of Gorkon deal with the insergency in its country. The Emperor is willing to send in 10,000 of his Imperial Shock Troopers who are well trained in Terrorist Fighting seeing how we just fought a war against a Terrorist Country. These troops will be commanded by Lightning Starian commanders who will take orders from us, leaving you to focus your attention on re-building your infrastructure.

10 air-transports are on the way, 6 containing medical supplys and 4 containing medical staff.
These people are trained to drive around the country and put up local hospitals everywhere..
Once they land in Gorkon they will be under youre command, once theyre work is done we would appreciate it if they would come home.
Representative of The Lightning Star: The Commander in Chief has seriously considered your very generous offer. However, he does not feel the people will react too well to having a foreign army nearby after all that has happened -- in fact, he worries that the Elite Guard could somehow use it to their advantage and initiate a recruitment drive amongst the currently-loyal people, unnecessarily prolonging the violence.
Our own troops are dealing with the problem sufficiently enough for the moment; indeed, it is the ideal opportunity to test some of our newer technologies. The Gladiator tanks in particular are supposed to have performed well above expectations both in the initial seige of the Palace yesterday, and in a recent attack on an Elite Guard outpost earlier this afternoon. So far none have been lost, despite the fact that the Elite Guard have access to some anti-tank weaponry.
However, should the problem get out of control, or the extermination of the Guard take significantly longer than expected, we may yet begin to negotiate for your kind assistance.
Representative of Camewot: Your assistance is appreciated. We shall ensure their safety and return your people to you promptly. One day we hope to pay you in kind for your generosity.

Nice to hear when an oppressive government falls.
The Republic of Nintendania offers a limited force of 15 of our most highly trained anti-terrorism troops to maintain the peace. These troops, part of the elite Zulu Squad, once held back a force of 200 terrorists in my own country.
Should you want them, they will be deployed immediately.
Representative of Nintendania: Thank you for your offer. The Commander in Chief has been sent a copy and will bear it in mind for the future. Expect to hear from us if our troops are deemed incapable of finishing off the Elite Guard. Bear in mind though that these are not standard terrorists, more a splintered group of the military using similar tactics. It would be akin to the US Marines turning on them. Although on a smaller scale of course. Should they prove too much to handle, you will most likely receive a telegram of a similar nature to the one The Lightning Star would also receive :D. Thank you again.

Breaking News from Gorkon -- GGN Corporation
"Unconfirmed reports are coming in of the Military destroying a major Elite Guard outpost just a few minutes ago. Rumour has it that it was near the coastal city of Jonolan.
The GMS Vanquish was what prompted the reports; witneses say that the huge flagship of the Gorkonian Military was seen dangerously close to the shore firing her main shell cannons at a series of buildings. Shortly after bombardment began, small arms fire was heard coming from the building suggesting someone was vainly returning fire. Witnesses go on to say that three tanks and dozens of APCs pulled up nearby. After this, the witnesses were told to move on for their own benefit, and no further information was obtained.
As Junyo-class attack helicopters have continued to force media helicopters away from the surrounding air space with the threat of firing on them, this suggests that something is definitely going on.
Maintenance workers of the area have suggested that the building under attack was connected to a series of underground tunnels which used to be connected to old mine shafts, which would make it perfect for any rogue organisation to use as a staging area. Given the size of the Elite Guard, it seems likely that this is just one of many such outposts, but it would deal a damaging blow to their efforts.
We will give more detailed reports as the story develops."

Speech from Commander-in-Chief of the Gorkonian Military, five minutes ago:
"I am Carl Maxson, proud Commander-in-Chief of the Gorkonian Military. I would like to take this opportunity to confirm some of the things the press has been distributing.
Yes. The Gorkonian Monarchy has been completely destroyed. The last suriving Monarch and only heir to the trone is due to be executed next Monday for the crimes of himself and his predecessors and to prevent any further dynastic rule of this nation.
And yes, it was the Military who was entirely responsible, operating on our own and without coersion. No civilian casualties beyond one or two of the Monarchs servants were injured or killed in the initial attack on the Palace, we don't think.
The Elite Guard is, for those who do not know, a powerful entity in itself, recruited and trained to elite degrees for the express purpose of protecting the Monarch and all he represents. We estimate that approximately 50% of the Elite Guard was killed or captured in the siege of the Palace, however the other 50% have abandoned their outposts and facilities around the country and gone underground, staging cowardly attacks on civilian and military targets in a vain effort to force us into relinquishing control of Gorkon and reinstating the Monarch. They will not succeed.
Finally, yes, an Elite Guard outpost was destroyed yesterday. It was only small, but it housed at least a hundred Elite Guard soldiers, and we captured four Senator-class tanks from them, those being the direct predecessor models to the latest Gladiator-class. They, along with various other weapons and equipment, have been added to the Military manifest.
In addition to this, not too long ago today we destroyed a significantly more important outpost in Jonolan City. This housed over 1,000 Elite Guard soldiers, along with substancial weapons and equipment. An added bonus is the capture of Ilior Bort, an officer of rank approximately equivilent to a general in the Elite Guard. He was capture alive and is currently being 'interrogated'.
We have already begun production of a new batch of Gladiator tanks in preparation for an inland assault on what we believe to be an equally large Elite Guard outpost, somewhere in the Klox Desert.
This significant victory brings us one step closer to finally achieving peace and security under the banner of a strong, Gorkonian Military government. We already have plans to construct small hospitals in each major city, and to develop the education system which was up until now doing little else other than teaching children to respect the Monarch. Military personnel shall assume the role of police force for an indefinite period of time.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank those nations who have offered and just recently given Gorkon their support in our time of need. Your assistance shall not be forgotten by the new government. Thank you"

Telegraph from Nintendanian goverment to Interim Gorkonian government:
Gorkonian interim government, satelite photos have pinpointed a Elite Guard position at cordinates 90,32. A airstrike will be launched against them, should you want us to. The F-14s are waiting on the tarmac of the Aircraft Carrier Jeff, and will launch as soon as you give the go ahead.
Thank you for the intelligence, Nintendania; I shall relay it to the general in command of that region. We would like to use artillery strikes and/or aerial bombardment as a last resort, as we hope to capture certain officials alive as they may reveal plans of future attacks. Also, the weapons, equipment, and sometimes vehicles we liberate from them can also be invaluable. We will attempt a ground-based assault. If this fails, may we take you up on your offer?

We are also looking at photos at another possible Elite Guard site, but it could take a few hours until we're sure. It's either a Elite Guard site or a herd of water buffalo, one of the two.

Col. Klarr--
The Free Republican States of Shermanica will gladly assist the new Gorkonian government in hunting down the remnants of the old regime. If needed, we can send upwards of 1,000 soldiers (of the Shermanic Army's crack 43rd Airborne Brigade), as well as 5 Super Cobra attack helicopters and crews (of the Shermanic Air Arm's 127th Light Attack Helicopter Wing), as part of this fledgling coalition. Our recon satellites will also be at your disposal. The reason for such a small force being sent is that our population is not very trustful of this situation, and we do not wish to overcommit ourselves.
However, if the situation goes downhill, we are fully committed and prepared to transfer more of our military resources to the area.

WATER BUFFALOS BEING RIDEN BY ELITE GUARD TOWARDS MOUNTAINS! According to our calculations, at there current speed, they will reach a mountain strong hold at coordinates 59,23. If you want, I will parachute my troops into that area so that they may survey the Elite Guard and take pictures that would allow you to judge if you want em dead or alive.

GGN News -- 23rd June 2004
" In a sweeping move last night, the Elite Guard massed a small force of 1,000 and overwhelmed a military airbase. Over 700 military forces were brutally executed in the surprise attack, and approximately 100 civilians were caught in the crossfire as the Elite Guard ruthlessly gunned down everything in their path.
They now have access to 25 Gorkonian GA33 'Avenger' Fighter/Bombers along with full armaments, over 30 Senator-class tanks, and all the weapons and equipment being stored at the base at the time. It is believed that most of the defensive force that was previously stationed at the airbase had been mobilised in a huge strike on an empty building, constructed by the Elite Guard to appear as a base of operations to satellite cameras. Meanwhile, the Elite Guard moved in on the reletively unprepared base under the darkness of night.
Military High Command has refused to comment on the situation beyond saying 'we shall have our revenge'. In the meantime, the Elite Guard have already begun launching aerial attacks on military and civilian targets throughout Gorkon. Independant analysts have concluded that Military High Command has significantly underestimated the tactical capabilities of the Elite Guard remnants, and if they intend to defeat them, they must adjust their own tactics.
"The Elite Guard have their name for a reason," says Dr. Gordon Bartholemew, the leading Gorkonian military analyst. "Whereas most of the military are just grunts with basic training, the Elite Guard have spent most of their lives being trained with some of the most advanced tactical knowledge around for the express purpose of keeping the Monarch safe and in power, no matter what the cost. This airbase annexation just goes to demonstrate that the Military simply refused to believe this. And the Elite Guard will continue to make significant gains if High Command does not begin using more advanced strategies, and more importantly, deploying the Shadow squadron."
GGN believes that the Military is taking such steps. and may be calling upon foreign aid in the near future. Although the civilian population disapprove of foreign militaries solving their problems, they no longer wish to live in fear."
Urgent Communique From Gorkonian Military High Command
Recently, many generous offers have been made in regards to our problems with the Elite Guard. Due to the nature of civilian opposition, and personal pride, the Commander in Chief has refused these offers.
However, you may or may not have heard that one of our major military airbases was completely overrun last night as we began chasing the goose they had pointed us to. This is a significant blow, and a significant gain for the Elite Guard. And they have already begun launching attacks on cities with no AA defences whatsoever due to the fact they are generally too far inland to need them.
A few of our own air superiority fighters have taken down roughly five of the Elite Guard's fighters, but the rest have thus far elluded us. They attack without warning and pull out before we can respond.
It is with a heavy heart that the Commander in Chief has requested of all those who have offered assistance military aid. Initially, mobile anti-air guns and SAMs are urgently required in several of our towns and cities to repell and hopefully end these attacks. In the near future, we may call on additional aid for defensive and/or offensive purposes in various planned actions against the Guard. We do not plan on immediately taking the airbase, for fear of a repeat of our previous humiliation. It is heavily defended by our own bunkers, tanks and anti-air weapons, not to mention at least 20 Avenger fighter/bombers. Luckily, all our attack helicopters were assisting in a raid on a hoax base, so they did not get any of those.
Gorkonian Military High Command hopes it is not imposing too much to ask for these anti-air defences, or the ground support it hopes you will provide in future attacks.

Provisional Military Foreign Liason Officer

We have been watching this situation unfold for quite some time now and it seems you require our help.
The 576th SAM battery can be airlifted into your country within the next three a four days. The 67 SAM sites come complete with ground crew and radar sites.
The mobile SAMs, personnel and fighters are greatly appreciated from both of you. The peace keepers may become useful in the near future. We thank you for your assistance, both of you. The cities of Malar, Haztu, Nakar and Vilnek are the most vulnerable cities at the moment, your troops have permission to enter Gorkon territory and begin deploying at those cities. Your ground troops may become useful in an upcoming, currently classified, operation. The Shadow squadron may need a diversionary attack, would this be possible if we give you more details in the near future?
It would be possible
The convoy is already in the air, they should be there in RL 2 minutes..
Once unloaded the material and peacekeepers will be divided under Malar, Haztu, Nakar and Vilnek
Malar:
7 SAM-sites
1250 peackeepers
15 Stealth Fighters
Al the other citys will receive the same, the only diffrence will be 6 SAMs instead of 7 in Malar..
Everything should be there in ETA 1 hour.
Excellent. This should be sufficient for now. Hopefully the SAMs will not be necessary in a few hours. We have plans to retake the airbase and its contents, and hopefully a few prisoners. Shadow squadron is controlled by the Intelligence Division, so for now not even I have the precise details, but they have requested a 600-man strong diversionary attack on the forward bunkers of the airbase. This attack is to start in approximately two hours. They must lose deliberately, though not necessarily take any casualties. Apparently it must appear to look like a stalemate, and they must begun to pull our after a long struggle of 40 minutes. And while they are doing this, Shadow squadron will do... well, something. I don't know what.
We can only raise 200 soldiers without damaging the defences of important military facilities. Could either of you fill the gap without similarly damaging defences?

Hail, Gorkon Genral,
I am willing to assist you in the capturing of the lost airbase. If you accept i will be pleased to send the fourth and fifth divisions from my island army. Unfortunately the fourth division is at a lack after recent uprisings in my own region, however they will go to you r aid nonetheless.
The fifth division consists of:
250 H.A. tanks
700 Special Ops militia
100 L.A. choppers
50 anti tank ground units
The fourth division consists of:
227 H.A. tanks
717 ground to air missle crews
15 medi units( 35 men and 4 vehicles in a unit
42 portible gun emplacements
Xavier Valcolsan, Captain-General, The Spear of Anniarthium.
Hmm. They could be useful. But for now, I have my orders; they need grunts, and 400 of them. If you could post your special ops around, but not in, a few sensitive military facilities, we could free up the necessary people from our own forces.
400 Special Ops will be arriving soon..
So you want them to defend some facilities while the other go attack the airbase?
Anniarthium, thank you for your support. At this rate the Elite Guard won't stand a chance!
*Secure transmission*
This is Gorkonian High Command Intelligence Minister. My name is unimportant. Note that communication of what I am teling you to anybody who isn't directly involved in the operation will result in severe consequences. Classification of this operation remains in effect either until tomorrow noon if successful, or the next 50 years if not.
We need a standard army of 600 soldiers to begin an attack. It must begin as a forceful attack. Kill as many as you can -- it makes our job easier. Then, slow down the pace. Begin to become entrenched, and deliberately force a statemate. It MUST look convincing if the Elite Guard are to transfer people to the forward defences to try and take the advantage. This stalemate should last approximately 40-50 minutes. Then, slowly pull out, firing all the while. It would be nice if some divisions of Elite Guard break off and chase you, but this is unlikely.
While this is happening, 50 Shadow operatives shall gain entry through the rear, and kill everything living in the base. With most of their defences transfered to the forward defences, this should be simple.
As your troops retreat, ensure you are not being followed and quickly circle around the nearby hill to the rear of the base. You shall gain entry, and take up defensive positions. If all has gone to plan, the remaining Elite Guard will return their troops to normal posts. They shall find entry into the airbase difficult and, if your troops are doing their job, deadly. Given their limited numbers, the remainer of the Guard will give up and evacuate the forward bunkers. If they do not, we shall force them.
Gorkonian Military High Command has donated us 200 grunts, who are currently waiting in position. Please place a force of 400 near the Central Bank of Gorkon City for pickup. We shall transfer them to the appropriate location and give the order for the attack to commence. Two or three tanks may not go amiss for an air of authenticity, though they are not to fire on the airbase itself -- forward bunkers are not connected to the base, but they must remain intact otherwise the Guard will have no cover and will retreat to the airbase.
*Transmission Ends*
400 Special Ops will be arriving soon..
So you want them to defend some facilities while the other go attack the airbase?
Was that transmission for me?
For all who can spare the troops. Special Ops may attend in the diversionary, but they must wear junior-grade army uniforms as a disguise. They may be useful for the final stage. The Intelligence Division does not mind who supplies the 400 troops, so long as they can fire a weapon well and won't fire it at us.
The Special Ops has arrived, they have dressed theyrselfes in the airplane and are waiting to be picked up by you, they are under youre command.
APCs should be arriving any minute to pick them up. Shadow operatives are already at the airbase surveying the area. The assault shall begin in one half hour.

Xavier looked at the small wall just as an RPG came hurtling over. "Hit The Deck!" he cried and dived to the ground. Pulling out a pistol he rolled behind the shattered remains of an H.A. tank. He slammed the broken hatch open and clawed for the comlink. "Crap somebody get round the west side. They're attempting a sally, Get over here now" he shouted into it. Gun fire rang out from his own troops and he looked over the tank and fired. One of his luetanants called to him. "What do you want me to do?" "Get division 4 over here now!" Xavier called back.
The Shadow Squadron's commander lay on the top of the hill. They were all dressed completely in black. Even their eyes were covered with multi-visual goggles.
The commander peered through the zoom of his silenced submachine gun, watching the Elite Guard mill around in the air base. Panning down to the south, the bunkers were visible, with fixed machine gun emplacements and a single AA gun.
"APCs have arrived, over," the radio crackled quietly. The commander reached down and clicked it on.
"Begin," he said in a calm voice. He motioned with his hands to the other 50 operatives hiding just below the top of the hill. Covered in grass and leaves, they began to crawl down towards the walls. The commander followed.
"Begin," a calm voice said through the radio. Colonel Johnson nodded at the coalition of troops. 200 experienced Gorkonian soldiers, and 400 Camewot Special Ops in Gorkonian uniform, were spread across the area. Two Senator tanks proudly stood above them.
"Let's move, move MOVE!" Johnson called. The small force ran in unison, the tanks rumbling along with them. Machine guns opened fire as approached the forward bunker.
"GIVE 'EM HEEEELL!" Johnson shouted. Their submachine guns exploded, bullets ricocheting off the concrete bunkers, as several of the Elite Guard fell to the floor.
The tanks came to a halt. Their turrets made a whirring sound as they turned and raised the barrel. The deep concussion noise they made as they fired blocked out the gunfire for a second. The shells flew straight for groups of the Elite Guard who were running for cover. The door to the airbase opened, and more Elite Guard flooded out, taking cover behind sandbags and ruts in the ground, returning fire.
The explosion of noise filled the air. The Shadow squadron had been waiting at the rear entrance. This was where supplies were received. A few guards had remained, but they had been eliminated silently. One of the operatives stood at the door with a small handheld device plugged into the electronic lock. It bleeped, and the door made a clinking sound, swinging open slightly.
The Commander made a fist, then motioned forward. They flooded through.
Silenced shots began hitting the Elite Guard. Most of them didn't even notice; neither the silenced guns nor the bodies falling to the ground made enough noise to be heard over the conflict outside. An Elite Guard officer walked out of his office and was about to shout an order, but an operative saw and fired a tranquilliser dart at him, putting him down almost instantly.
The Operatives moved forwards, and each pressed the barrel of their rifle against the remaining soldier's necks. They immediately stopped firing from the various windows, dropped their weapons, and raised their arms. There were only 16 left, out of a guard of 150.
The Colonel noticed that no more gunfire was coming from the airbase itself. He saw a torch light flash; it spelled out 'retreat' in Morse code.
By now the troops had taken cover behind various rocks and mounds. The Camewot special operatives had excelled, killing well over 400 Elite Guard in addition to the 100 their own troops must have taken down. But now it was time to back down.
"FALL BACK!" he called. Several other soldiers looked at him, then looked further down the lines and repeated his orders. One by one, the soldiers began to crawl away, under the cover of those that remained. As they reached a new set of cover, the remaining troops also turned and retreated. It took a while, but eventually, they were clear. One of the tanks had been destroyed by an armour-piercing rocket fired near the onset of the fighting, its dead shell smoking where it had once been. The remaining tank fired a few useless rounds at the mud as it drove away.
Finally, the gunfire stopped. The Elite Guard were not giving chase.
"Right, we have to circle around the hill an get into the airbase to help the Shadow ops secure it. Let's move like we've got a purpose!" the Colonel shouted. They began sprinting around the base of the hill, the tank following.
"We have secured the airbase. Several of our men are stationed in the barracks, guarding the prisoners. The remaining 30 are in the towers and at the windows," a Shadow operative told the commander.
"Excellent," he said. "We should be reinforced anytime soon. In the meantime, make sure everyone has enough ammo. That slaughter drained my magazines no end. And make sure the forward entrance is completely secure; we don't want them getting in here."
"Yes sir," the operative nodded, and headed off to the ammunition stores.
"What is your position?" the commander said through the radio.
"We are halfway around the base of the hill, over," the Colonel’s voice crackled. "We lost about 22 men, and a tank, otherwise we're battle-ready."
The Colonel reached the rear door of the airbase, and held up his radio.
"We're at the door, over," he said. A few moments later, the door unlocked. He swung it open, and the troops filed in and hurried to the various defensive positions.
They were just in time. Just as they arrived, the Elite Guard were wandering back towards the airbase, apparently unaware of its liberation.
There were lots of them, strewn all over the field in-between the airbase and the bunkers. Shadow operatives had their eyes on their scopes, already targeting their kills.
One of the Elite Guard pressed the buzzer on the door. A few seconds later he fell to the ground, blood dripping from his head. At this, the soldiers and Shadow operatives alike began to rain metal fire down on the Elite Guard, mowing them down.
They immediately jumped for cover and returned fire, taking down one or two of the soldiers at the windows. But they were being cut to pieces. There was no form of cover on this field, and they knew it. One by one, they turned and ran in the direction of the bunkers. Most of them were gunned down as they did so.
Through their scopes, the Shadow ops could see the Elite Guard who had previously manned the bunkers beckoning their retreat.
"Open the forward doors and sent out the tank," the Shadow Ops commander said to the Colonel. The door was unbolted, and the two halves swung backwards, and the tank rumbled across the tarmac and positioned itself halfway through the door. Its turret exploded, and a shell streaked across the air and slammed into the ground, sending a group of Elite Guard flying into the air. The Guard in the distance saw this, and ran towards the APCs left behind by the small coalition force.
The Commander slung his weapon over his neck as the final Elite Guard fell to the floor.
"Radio in to High Command," he said to the Colonel. "We need fuel for the planes stationed at their airbase. Your men are to stay here until relieved, we're moving out. Shadow Squadron! Fall in and move out! We're going to see if we can kill some of those retreating Elite Guard."

Xavier heard the sound of shells and looked to the base. Yellow flashes lit the sky behind it." Move in" he said into the comlink and slunk foward into the base. Just where he had been an explosion of white light ripped through the air . Xavier was thrown to the ground. "4th division ,Get your butts up here!" he cried into the comlink and slammed another round into his pistol. A elite guard ran at him and found hat he had no head. The sound of an air horn sounded and Xavier watched as one of the towers exploded in a fiery blast that sent pieces of shrapnel everywhere. He heard the faniliar sound of L.A. choppers and smiled. Bullets rained down from the skies on the enmy.

Out in the sea, in international waters, 250 kilometres off the southern coast of Gorkon, a Neo Zaft registered salvage ship vut its silent engines, and came to a halt. On the rear deck, two metal doors slid open...and a grey-painted AOGMF-LRR741B GINN Long Range Reconnaissance Type rose to the deck.
"Omega Two-One, you're clear for takeoff. Just get us some pictures, and get back ASAP. No heroics."
"Roger Control, Omega Two-One taking off...."
The drive flares of its HEPLAR drives ignited, and the mobile suit soon rose through the air, and was lost in the clouds...
(OOC: I'm just here to play around, recon, and perhaps provide humanitarian aid later on. I'm a Gundamtech nation and I would rather not get into conflicts, am I allowed to RP here Gorkon?)

The giant cargo ships landed and the great doors fell to the ground. The remains of the 4th division, tired and injured, climed aboard. Xavier walked up to the captain. "Good job Sypher, always remember this day, see you back at Inspartica" The captain saluted and walked slowly on board. "Fifth division, your with me, lets see if they need any help with peace keeping" Xavier said into the comlink and jumped in the APC.

Gorkonian Airspace....
"This is tango one to tango two, we have the Elite Guard base in site. We're gonna intiate strafing now."
The two F-14s went to attack speed, and there Vulcan machine cannons went full bore. A elite guard truck on the ground exploded, Elite Guard AA was left gunnerless. The F-14s buzzed the base, then turned around for another pass.
"This is Tango two, let's launch those missiles, over."
"Roger Tango Two"
The missiles were unleashed one hit a ammo dump, the bright red/orange explosion spread across the base.

GGN News Bulletin, 1415 hours
"In response to the humiliation suffered by the Military at the hand of the Elite Guard yesterday, High Command has called in foreign troops to deal with the problem. All over the country, daring raids against Elite Guard outposts and positions have been successful as a coalition of troops and aircraft move closer to victory.
Most importantly of all, 1,000 Elite Guard were killed as the Military's own elite division the Shadow Squadron, operating under the banner of High Command Intelligence Division, infiltrated and secured the airbase which was lost last night as a coalition force successfully diverted the Elite Guard. This essentially ended the Elite Guard's aerial campaign. Those Elite Guard planes already in the air at the time had nowhere to land, and three have been reported to have crash landed as they ran out of fuel.
In response to their demise, the Elite Guard had been brutally slaughtering civilians in unguarded villages and small towns as they travel the nation in stolen APCs seeking to do as much damage as they could. This was halted as a lone Gladiator tank located and destroyed this APC whilst it was in transit, and executed all survivors.
For the past hour, no further Elite Guard activities have been reported. It is believed the remaining soldiers fled Gorkon in small motorboats, which the GMS Vanquish is currently hunting down. In a press conference twenty minutes ago, the Commander-in-Chief, Carl Maxson, had this to say:
"People of Gorkon: your loyal military has destroyed the Elite Guard. The last element of the evil Monarchy which has been haunting you these past couple of days has been vanquished. 21 Officers of the Elite Guard have been captured, and are currently being punished for their crimes. Any survivors have fled Gorkon, and will be intercepted by our mighty flagship.
You may relax for a while, though we still have much to do. You may also lose the xenophobia you were taught by our evil monarch, as we could not have destroyed the Elite Guard without foreign help. Camewot. Anniarthium. Nintendania. The numerous nations who have supplied us with medical supplies and equipment, not to mention valuable monetary donations. The people of Gorkon, and the Military, give you our thanks. When we are in a more stable, powerful position, we hope to be able to offer you assistance in your times of need, should it be necessary, in the future.
We have a long task ahead of us. Our corrupt Monarch has been damaging this nation for generations. We need healthcare facilities. Educational facilities. Fire response units. Even roads in some towns and cities. You are the people to build these things, only now, you shall be paid! We are already commissioning a new form of currency in Gorkon, one without the face of your oppressor smirking at you. Gorkon and her people will assert their independance. We will become a grand nation, as we once were.
Your Gorkonian Military has asserted itself. For as long as we are in existence, we shall protect you from outside and inside harm, whatever the cost. From now on, you are safe. Long live the Armed Republic of Gorkon!"
It was also reported at that press conference that restoration to the Palace of Monarchs was well underway, and already in each of the three major cities, hospitals are under construction. Taxes will not be lowered until there is a stable infrastructure, which is acceptable to the public.
"The military is a force of good," said one citizen. "Now that the Monarchy is gone, they can be a force of good for us all. If they say they need to keep taxes high, I for one believe them."
Already the Military has plans on laying claim to the small sister island of this one, which is uninhabited and has large gold deposits which could greatly boost the Gorkonian economy, and thus the speed with which basic public facilities can be constructed.
Breaking news... the GMS Vanquish has just intercepted and destroyed two stolen fishing trawlers filled with Elite Guard survivors. The flagship has sustained damage to her port armour plating from an RPG attack, but nothing major. Her captain says they cannot find any other ships in the area. Any more news on the Elite Guard remnants shall be broadcast as it develops."
Dear friendly nations,
The Commander-in-Chief wished to convey his thanks personally, but he is currently phenomenally busy.
We believe the Elite Guard to be completely eliminated. Not too long ago, The GMS Vanquish found and destroyed a group of them fleeing the island. Attacks have all stopped. We cannot find any more bases. And by our calculations, we have killed or captured about as many men as the Elite Guard probably began with. Hence, the thanks. The medical personnel helped deal with the casualties well, both civilian and military. And the troops and equipment donated to our cause helped exterminate the Elite Guard once and for all. And the money we were donated has already been put into weapons development and the construction of three new hospitals. Hence why the Commander-in-Chief wished to convey his thanks personally. He was surprised by the speed the international community came to our aid, but not disappointed.
We are now rebuilding. It will take some time, but it must be done. The Military is recruiting to replace those lost in battle. Hospitals are already under construction or being planned. Existing educational facilities are being removed of monarchy propaganda and having proper educational facilities installed. Roads are being constructed. Proper plumbing and electricity supplies are being laid down. We should be a half-decent nation within a matter of months.
I am being reassigned now. A permenant Foreign Relations branch of the Military is being established, and I am being promoted to General, and will receive command of the 9th Infantry & Armour Divisions, so this is the last time I shall be speaking with you. So I too will give you my thanks, and hope that one day, we can rally to your side as you did to us.
We do have one last problem we need assistance with. While putting together a manifest of equipment stored in an Elite Guard outpost we took control of, we found an alarmingly large quantity of unspecified biological weapons, in the form of vials, and even warheads for missiles, which is unusual in itself for we don't have any equipment to launch such warheads. We are hoping a UN nation with the appropriate equipment can come and collect these biological weapons, remove them from our territory, and safely dispose of them. This would be greatly appreciated.
General J Klarr,
Commander of the 9th Infantry & Armour Divisions

On the former Elite Guard ship Elite Leader
The Nintendania commandos (who had landed on the ship by submersible) crept up towards the bridge. Along the way, they had to knife 2 men's throats. But the commandos, led by Captain Jenkins, moved quietly towards the door.
"Bradley, Glover, you two get the smoke grenades in there the moment the door opens. On three" Said Jenkins
Bradley and Glover grabbed there smoke grenades.
"One, two, THREE!"
The door opened, and soon smoke filled the bridge, coughs filled the air (for the smoke had a special compound in it that would cause momentary sickness). But when the smoke cleared, the Elite Guards saw that they had been de-armed, and in some cases hand cuffed the elite commandos.
"O (expletive)! How did you do that?" Said the captain, "You are Nintendanians, I presume? Well, we have many ships escaping, no matter how many Gorkon and you intercept, there will be some of us that go free."
"Tell it to the judge, there's a war crimes trial coming for you Captain... or, should I say, GRAND GENERAL!" Said Jenkins
Jenkins motioned to Roberts, the commando's radio man, "Tell Gorkon we've got a war criminal that they'd undoubtably want."
As a result of the daring raid, one of the most daring ever execteuted, the Grand General, infamous for ordering the deaths of thousands of Civilians, was captured and handed over to Gorkonian authorities. War Crimes trials have yet to be scheduled.

In President Gamingboy's underground base
"I don't know sir, we've helped create a "Armed Republic", are you sure this is any better, and are you sure it won't come back to bite us in the butt." Said one of Gamingboy's aides
"I don't know, but names can be deceiving, and anything could be better then a mad monarchy, now would it?" Gamingboy replied.
"Yes sir."

From the bridge of "The Spear", a transport-crusier from Anniarthium.
"This is General Thagli reporting for the pick up mission of Division Five, Over" said the general. The comlink crackled "We here you loud and clear General and we've gotten you clearence into Gorkan sea space,Over"
"On my way, and Captain-General, We have reported trouble in Westtle Division Three and Six are in landing position, would you like us to take Division Five down there sir?" "Pick me up and we'll be on our way General" came the reply of Xavier.
The light choppers tookoff and began the long trip back to Inspartica as Xavier and Division Five climbed aboard The Spear. Xavier walked on to the bridge and the General showed him the maps. "Let's do this"

I will help you in war if it is needed for the cost of 5 tanks
Gorkonian High Command was very pleased to see the commander of the Elite Guard in your custody. He shall be 'interrogated' for quite some time to come, whether he has any useful information or not.
Our first permanent hospital has been constructed in the capital city. It has just opened its doors and is funded by taxes, so anybody can wander in off the newly built roads and receive treatment.
We are also pleased to report that since the introduction of various crime prevention techniques such as barcoding and idenity cards, not to mention Marshall Law, crime is exceptionally low.
And military spending is at an all-time high now that we can allocate as much as we feel necessary. Development of a new light tank is underway, as well as new defences at all major military outposts being bolstered. Even the GMS Vanquish is receiving upgrades to her weapons systems.
Regardless of your disapproval of a military government, drastic times call for drastic measures; and these are drastic times. We could be as oppressive as we wished and it would still be less extreme than during the previous administration; however the development of public facilities demonstrates that although the people have no vote, they are no longer being mistreated. They are happy with the military government for now. And we shall never be subject to any further oppressive regimes, be they internal or external. We would rather destroy the country and everyone inside of it than be invaded successfully.
The Commander-in-Chief has prepared new buildings as embassies for all those governments that helped destroy the Elite Guard, if they wish to use them.

We don't disapprove of it, we just believe there are better ways that should be done once the country is stabilized.
An elected government may cut military funding, and this would put us in a very vulnerable position. Maybe sometime in the future, but now is not the time. Just being able to go to the store without being strip-searched for no reason by the Elite Guard will be a nice boost to civil rights so far as they are concerned.
