----------------------------------

KREMAJSZ, Monday: World-renowned political author and analyst D.G Houwzer was arrested by NASPO (secret police) agents at Anbar International Airport at 8.57pm GMT just before boarding an airliner to flee the country.

The Ministry of the Interior this morning released a statement confirming the controversial author's arrest and detainment, although it did not specify his whereabouts or current condition. It stated that although he was a foreign national, he had been in the country for nearly a year on a working visa and due to that was now 'more than subject' to the laws applying to Bohravian citizens.

It is believed Houwzer had entered the country solely for research purposes regarding his book. Tentatively titled Behind The Facade: The Truth About Bohravia's Regime, the book was scheduled for Western release this Thursday although spokesmen from Triumph Publishing, the book's distributor, said they were at least considering postponing the release date. Needless to say, it has already been banned in Bohravia.

The book reputedly contains excerpts of secret government files, as well as interviews with retired party and government officials. It also includes one with Karel Karpensky, the so-called 'Democratic Mediator' who unsuccesfully tried to restore democracy to the war-torn nation before the USP dictatorship came to power in 1974. He died late last month aged 80.

Vladyslaw Kirzinge of the Shadow Ministry earlier today said in awritten statement "Mr. Houwzer is currently in government custody accused of defamation and slander against the Bohravian nation. His book is therefore banned from circulation within our borders, as it is an affront of the grossest kind towards us, and that is all there is to be said at this time". Despite pressure from local and international news crews, he refused to divulge further information.

Ageaol claims him as their's but only a little since the only relation Houwzer has to us is that his great great grandfather moved to Ageaol years ago and had a son(Houwzer's great grandfather) before deciding that he needed to move to a nation where they emphasised on babies as his wife had died giving birth. Ageaol can also increase the claim with classified information waiting to be unclassified at due notice when necessary.

The High Council of Ageaol also wishes Bohravia to release Houwzer as his great great grandfather when living with us made technological discoveries such as a super high powered lens that could see into the fabric of time, a way to reduce Planck's constant and therfore achieve miniaturization, and hyper assistance which led to super luminal(faster than light) travel.

The Representative of the Council, Laoega, publicly announced this:
"Ageaol is disgusted that Bohravia could stoop so low as to arrest a foreign author for digging up a couple of secrets when they could have easily just pretended they were false or covered it up another way without needing to just arrest the man. By order of the High Council I declare that Bohravia should be added to Walls of Shame around the world and we shall not rest until Houwzer is released!"

-News Update - Author's Whereabouts Revealed

It has just come to light that controversial Angealian author D.G Houwzer is currently being held in one of the nation's most notorious prisons - Vartek.

Vartek Prison has long been the final destination for many Bohravian dissidents; built before WWI, it is a hulking, grotesque edifice reputed to be rat and disease-infested. The inmates are said to be beaten regularly by guards, forced to shower in freezing-cold water amongst other hardships. The Bohravian authorities however have always denied the ever-rife accusations of sexual abuse towards prisoners by the guards.

It is definitely the sort of place where one would expect serial killers or psychopaths to be held but to say it is inhumane for a decent, renowned man like D.G Houwzer to be incarcerated there would be nothing short of an understatement.

News just in: The Emperor Of Angeal condems Bohravia for arresting D. G. Houwzer, and calls for his immediate release.

The Angealian Ambassador, Eric Gabrel, released this statement:

"I, and Emperor Mordecai, are hoping for a swift diplomatic answer to this, that is acceptable to both sides. All we ask for is D. G. Houwzers release, and extradition to Angealian lands."

To the governments of Angeal, Ageaol and the world at large:

We give you our sincerest assurance that Mr. Houwzer has not come to any harm whilst in our custody. We are prepared to arrange for his immediate release, however, it must come at a price.

The government of Angeal must pay a ransom of $1.5 million for his release, and must then sign an unconditional non-agression treaty with our government. We will then arrange for Houwzer's speedy and safe release from Bohravian governmental custody.

We eagerly await your reply.

"Your terms are unacceptable. We demand his release now, or there will be consecuences for your actions."

Meanwhile, the Head of Angeal's secret service, AIKO, just recieved orders to redrieve what AIKO knows about Vardek Prision, and the Bowravian Prime Minister, which is little. Their man was to go in almost literally blind.

We insist on our terms, however we are prepared to reach a compromise. We will release him for no ransom but on the condition that 50% of his book's revenue be diverted to our national treasury. Surely these conditions will be more favourable towards all concerned.

And I WARN you: any move to dispatch spies/agents upon our land will be met with extreme hostility. I strongly recommend you do not go ahead with such plans.

The High Council of Ageaol has taken a personal interest in this diplomatic quest and has just returned from a conference. They immediately send a message to Angeal telling them not to complete the acception of Bohravia's terms. Councilman Aeglao announces to the world, and especially to the Dictator of Bohravia, that Houwzer must be released on these terms
1. No ransom.
2. An apology from the Dictator
3. $2,000 to back the apology up.
4. A peace treaty.
5. A contract stating that if this ever happens again Bohravia shall be destroyed.

Failure to comply with these terms shall result in war. Confederate spaceships are already orbiting Bohravia's planet and shall attack in a moment's notice.

I sincerely hope this incident will not be an enduring stain upon whatever future relations our two countries may have.

Vartek Prison, 1.50 am GMT:
----------------------

D.G Houwzer awoke atop the musty bed in his cell. It was old and filthy, filled with hay and stained with all manner of excrecencies. He was clothed in prison overalls and moth-eaten slippers. He'd only been fed bread and water thus far, and already been beaten around the shins once by one brute of a guard.

"Get up for me, you pathetic shit, so I can do it again!" he'd cackled, fiery eyes glinting in the dim light. Despite the excruciating pain, he hadn't cried out - only passed out.

And here he was back in his cell. Alone.

It was dark, pitch black in fact. Also silent - dead silent. He'd never been in such surrounds before and didn't quite know how terrified to feel.

Just then however, he heard the low rumble of a helicopter. He vaguely made out voices barking out, as if making commands.

And then he heard the sharp crash of a group of men falling into the prison through a skylight window. They grabbed the guards at gunpoint, saying "This is our prison now, assholes! You do as we say or we'll kill you all, no questions asked, got it?"

The author, shocked, retreated into the darkness of his cell as hell began to break loose.

"Who the f*ck are you?" yelled an inmate to one of the intruders. Kitted out in Spec-Ops gear with machineguns, night-vision goggles, the works, they were really dressed to kill.

"Who's asking?" replied the armed man.

"Me, you prick" bellowed the prisoner in return.

"If I told you I'd have to kill you" said the man. "And I'm not kidding."

He then rushed over to his superior, who'd called him over.

"What is it, sir?" he asked.

"We came all this way to find D.G Houwzer, right? So go find him! He can't be far" said the heavily-armed group leader.

"Yes, sir!" he saluted, and then bolted off in search of their man.

-----------

Houwzer huddled in the darkness of his cell. He knew the guards would be overpowered by these heavily-armed intruders...whoever they were. But the most pertinent question was: why where they here? They didn't appear to be busting out any inmates. And how had they sneaked into the country anyway? Bohravia was notorious for its border protection.

Something just wasn't right in all this.

Just then, a shadow loomed over his cell gate. "Cell A5145D67 - we got 'im!"

One of the armed men stood over, picking at the cell lcok with a skeleton key.

He begins his task... killing everyone in the prison.

<<STATE EMERGENCY ANNOUNCEMENT>>

At 2am this morning, contact was lost with Vartek Prison. We have reason to believe the prison is the target of a terrorist attack. We urge the citizens of the nearby town of Budjz to remain calm, and if they see anything at all suspicious, they are to report it immediately to either the police or NASPO.

At this moment a 50-man detachment of the National Guard's SFU (Special Forces Unit) is being dispatched to the prison to investigate and exterminate the threat. We have the utmost faith in their success.

Thank you for your patience and co-operation in this turbulent situation.

The siege had gone on for almost an hour, and all the guards were dead. All the inmates too, except Houwzer. His neck was stiff and sore from the shock collar he'd been strapped with. He was now being escorted through the blood-soaked hallways that led to the prison's main reception.

The WARRIORS (for that is who they were, soldiers of the RFF nation) led the dazed author along, as he struggled to get his head around the situation.

"What...what will you do with me?" he asked, his voice trembling.

"Now, now, where would the fun be if I spoilt it for you?" laughed one of the WARRIORS.

But Houwzer was unperturbed. "You...you snuck into the country just to get to me, didn't you? B-but how? And why? I don't think you came to free me."

"Bright man. Yep, we've got something else in store" confirmed another Warrior "and that's all I'm saying."

After a while they were by the front gate of the prison. They were greeted by the SFU detachment that had been sent there to 'stop' them. But they were there for another reason.

"Looks like we missed all the fun" grumbled one of the National Guardsmen "You bastards really should've waited up."

"Too late for that now, who cares anyway" came the reply. "Well, we did as we said - killed 'em all and made it look like we were the bad guys after all."

The SFU group leader nodded. "Yes, you certainly outdid yourselves all right. But now let's forget all that and face the issue at hand. What will we do to reward you?" he asked trivially.

We've been told our Government doesn't care what Angeal thinks about his death, and we've also learned your nation has a vendetta against him.
