Corrheia announces Holy Crusade against Allanea
Corrheia

The Allanean Border.
5:35 AM
It was cold. The MiG-19s' where nearly unnoticed in the morning sky as they sped towards the Allanean drug factory 400 kilometers off the borders. The Allaneans has practically no AA in that sector, so it was easy for the MiG's to come through. Each plane was carrying 2 250-kilogram bombs - eight planes, 16 bombs. It was more than enough for their mission - to cease the production of drugs and similar products in such dangerous proximity to the border. At 5:35 exactly the bombs where dropped, and the War of Liberation has started.
6:00 AM
The Corrheian troops shouted 'For the Party! For Comrade Lang!' as the first wave - 10,000 Corrheian troops rushed accross the border, trudging throug the mud. Some slipped and fell, but more and more troops ran on, sometimes trampling their own comrades who fell. It didn't matter with the huge amount of troops they were deploying. Victory of the People's Republic was imminent. The words of the Party Founders ringed in their memories: "The Teaching of Marx is invincible, for it is true." The wave was followed by 250 T-80 tanks.
6:30 AM
Corrheian radio
Today, we have begun a holy crusade. Not a crusade of religion - religion is but a fraud - but one of liberation. We are fighting to liberate the Allanean people - to get the Allanean girls out of the brothels, the boys out of cult compounds, their mothers and fathers out of the hell of wage slavery and drug addiction. We have begun, today, an act of charity. Soon, the Allanean proletarian will rise up and aid us. This humanitarian action is a proof of the eternal compassion and bravery of the Corrheian people, and the wisdom of the General Secretary of the Party.
Long live Corrheia!

From the JOC, Prime Minister Sweeny watched the satellite feed of this newest conflict. His surveillance satellites were being re-tasked so often that their life expectancies were being recalculated to years less than when they were originally launched.

The Imperial Army switched into high gear once Air Force radars reported Corrheian jets flying into and out of Allanean territory. Orders were given to the already alerted Dublin Guards Army and Royal Guards Army to prep for limited military action. The Osaka Guards Army was put on alert and began the process of recalling personel and readying heavy equipment.
The Imperial Air Force ordered interceptors along the Corrheian and Axackaly borders to began Combat Air Patrols while B-84 Peregrine bombers, just twelve of them, started loading some very special ordinance and began pre-flight checks. Last but not least, F-27 Minotaur tactical fighters began a similar process, but loaded exlcusively with air-to-air ordinance.
The Allaneans, if they were on the ball, knew what the armed forces of the Scandavian Imperium were preparing for. The Corrheians did not, and would only find out once plans went into full motion.
Allanean Governmeent Official Broadcast
Today, our communist neighbours have finally shown their colours. They have attacked a civilian factory in Allanea. They have bombed a civilian factory, killing 670 people. They have invade our nation. Why? Because we manufactured a product they did not like. Well, communists, we got advice for you: when somebody makes a product you don't like, don't buy it .
We will deploy five mechanized infantry divisions to fight the Corrheian onslaught. Communism will be defeated.
May God Bless Allanea
On the Axackal Border
"Go! Go! Go!"
Five Mechanized Infantry divisions were mounting the trains to the Corrheain border. But they knew they would be late to stop the advance. Thousands of Allaneans would probably die.
And be avenged.
"Red Fox, this is Fireball, do you read me, copy?"
500 Ann Coulter Mk II fighter bombers where flying towards Corrheia, carrying 25 Slander missiles each - except for two carrying 23 Slander missiles and 2 Harry Brownes each.

[Corrheia, I'm going to need a map. And any details about the upcoming operation are completely secret IC.]
The Dublin Guards began the journey to New Edinburgh, their staging ground for the upcoming operation and the Royal Guards were making their staging area Gwynedd. Neither shock army in its entirety was necessary to achieve what they were ordered to and for sure both were overkill, but as far as the Imperial Army and their Emperor were concerned, overkill was just another way of saying that there was a 120% chance of the objectives being completed.
The two armies, from their various staging points, would do what was called a chop block in football. That was to say that both would cut straight across Corrheia and cut off any chance of resupply or reinforcement to the Corrheian troops in Allanea. Anything caught between the two armies would then be squeezed to death as if the unfortunate souls were in a very large and strong vice with vicious serrated teeth. Of course, it would take four hours for both armies to be in place and another hour after that they would begin six hours of constant artillery bombardment, only then would they begin the invasion.
Until then the Corrheians would think they were the dear friends of the Imperium and that any mobilizing forces were not going to be used against them.

While the Allaneans are still gathering up their attack, and the mechanized divisions have not arrived yet, the Corrheians push on, burning drug labs, killing anybody employed with the manufacture or sale of drugs (except simple workers), and generally wreaking havoc on the Allanean drug industry. The horizon is dotted with clouds of smoke from burning fields, and bodies of dealers, clerks, executives are piled up in every ditch.

Repetitive pictures make roleplays annoying. We don't need pictures of marines running onto a beach from a LCAC to figure out that forces have landed on a beach...if any pictures, make them small and sparing.
- Corrheia...'twas nice knowing you.
"Fucking hell. What do those bastards think they're doing here!" Erik von Blätterschplitt was pissed off. The Corrheians were causing quite a bit of trouble. The Imperätor picked quickly flicked on his phone. "Get me the Minister of War immediately."
---
Two minutes later, the two men were in conference over the videophone. "Thomas," the Imperator addressed the other man, "I think it's time to
fall back on our plan, no?"
“Yes sir, I agree,” replied the Minister. “However, I believe it would be wise to first consult some of the other members of the Council. This is a… delicate situation.”
“Agreed, comrade. An emergency meeting has already been scheduled.”
---
“The plan is relatively simple” explained General Albert von Tusk. “The 1st Army will deploy from Gërburg to strike right into the center of Corrheia. Even if the Allaneans weren’t moving down South, tying up their army, they wouldn’t be able to stand against Edölia’s best troops.” The General pointed at a map to his right. “This army really wont be theimportant part, however. Within a matter of days, we can mobilize a number of fast-response special operations troops. With the Corrheians’ relatively crude technology, they will be nearly powerless to stop the airdrop of some 4,000 special-ops forces –mostly Red Palace Guard and Death’s Head troopers. We expect that these should have absolutely no difficulty securing Corrheia’s government buildings. We’ll force their government into immediate surrender to the Scarlet Empire. The main purpose of the 1st Army is not to defeat the Corrheian army, but to secure as much of the country as possible so as to keep it from falling into Allanean hands. We want to maintain as much of Corrheia intact as possible. Any questions?”

Press Release: June 20, 20??
Edolian Ministry of Information
--“After extensive closed-door meetings by high-ranking military officials, the 1st Army fast-response force has been mobilized from Gërburg and the first few divisions are already being readied for deployment to the Scandavian States. The Imperätor has issued a statement of support for the Allanean defenders and has declared the Treaty of Friendship signed between Edölia and Corrheia to be null and void. Edolian diplomatic staff have been removed from Corrheia and trade has been cut off. The Imperätor spoke on the matter earlier today.
‘Although previously, we had believed that the Corrheian government was trustworthy and stable and could be a worthy ally for Edölia, we have recently come to realize that this is not the case. Over the past few months, they have attempted to acquire nuclear weaponry which they plan to use in a counter-revolutionary manner. The time has come for Edölia to end the oppressive government in Corrheia and reinstate peace in the nation. Only then can Haven be stable and secure.’
The Impërator also said that although it would be difficult to free the Corrheian people, that it was the responsibility of the Scarlet Empire to see that all the peoples of Haven lived in freedom, safe from oppressive regimes.
There has been no word regarding upcoming military action.”--
---
The 1st Army of Edölia is in the process of deployment. Made up of Edölia’s most elite troops –almost all veterans of the Allanea-UnAPS War- it is Edölia’s designated rapid deployment force. It is currently still in a development stage and not all of its component forces are included and many elements that will eventually be part of the Army fight as auxiliary forces. This does not significantly reduce its effectiveness in combat and it still one of the most elite forces that one will ever encounter on the battlefield.
<<OOC: Basically, I was in the middle of designing it when I saw that the shit had hit the proverbial fan. Some of the numbers are really just made up right now and don’t fit together with the rest of the force. Artillery, as a rule, is most effective when it is coordinated. It is also a rule that large groups of artillery are exceedingly hard to coordinate. However, when a nation has entire artillery divisions the troops manning those pieces quickly learn to coordinate from the brigade level and up.
However, in the middle of the night the cities of Gwenedd and New Edinburgh were disturbed by the sound of thousands upon thousands of artillery pieces rippling fire up and down the line. Despite the fact that all of the shells and missiles would hit their targets at the same time it did not appear so to the residents who were awoken by the light show. The lucky ones, usually the insomniacs and light sleepers, saw the hyper velocity rockets launched from MLRS rise over the city walls at more than Mach 5.
The HVMLRS in particular was very nasty. Instead of standard anti-personel and material (APAM) grenades as submunitions the warheads carried 1,235 pounds worth of penetrating rods, flachettes, and other nasty material made of metal that was designed to penetrate, maim, or cause shrapnel. The general idea was that a piece of metal hurtling towards the ground at Mach 8 would cause devastation no matter what or where it hit. The story was not the same for the SCRAMjet rounds being fired from 155mm ETC howitzers, those carried either HEAB (high explosive, air burst), thermobaric, or submunition (four APAM to a shel) explosive packages. Those would hit closer to their point of origins for the simple fact that the howitzers had a range of 80km while the HVMLRS had nearly double that.
[Corrheia: The first couple of hours of artillery fire will be devoted soley to taking out your supply lines. After that and until I post against tomorrow artillery will be focusing on bases, armour, supply depots, troops concentrations and anything else military related that is within the range of artillery. The next post I make will be the beginning of my assault into your territory. Oh, btw, because I'm not going to post every little artillery mission I expect rolling casualties every time you post until I post again.
EDIT: Silly me, I forgot to post how much of what kind of artillery was firing. There are 7,380 howitzers and 5,760 HVMLRS firing. Targetting will be between the imaginary east-west axis of New Edinburgh and Gwynedd. Here's a map as a reference: http://koti.mbnet.fi/crimmer/ns/img/scandavianstates.jpg]
Secret Encoded Message to the Scandavian High Command
"It it the belief of the Edolian government that civilian casualties should be kept to the absolute minimum in this campaign and that furthermore, military casualties should also be kept low. The Corrheians lack an army capable of standing up to the likes of ours. If, instead of using heavy artillary barrages, we used a blitzkreig-type advance, we could do as little damage to their population as possible and take the maximum amount of territory as quickly as possible. It will be our job to rebuild this nation and that job will be quite a bit easier if we do not have to worry about an absense of young men.
Elements of the 1st Army will begin arriving in Scandavian ports over the course of the next three to four days. We would appreciate your cooperation in allowing them to move freely. We want the bulk of our main force to enter into Corheian territory some 80 kilometers from the coast."
<<OOC: I'm gone all today, so I wont be able to post anything until tonight, so I'd appreciate it if I didn't come back and find that this thread is five pages long. It would also be nice if it were to be a closed RP (just so long as we don't get every Dick and Tom who wants to kill Allaneans [or commies] in this war). Finally, although a more detailed map would be nice, I would appreciate it if Corrheia gave details on major cities and where approximately on the map they're located. This is just for ease of reference.>>

"A vast horde of migrants from our country passing by in a large unexpected and organized group (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=154564) and another war springs up around Allanea. I suppose it's best we distance the eyes of our navy from them just in case they take a turn into that hotspot."
"Corrheia looks to need better equipment to truly conquer Allanea if they're using MiG 19s. Do you think it'd be possible to get the commitees to authorize the quiet sale of more modern arms to Corrheia?"
"I doubt it. Besides, we've had good relations with Edolia in the past, and a little independent arms peddling in the area might touch them off. The region is tense enough without us stirring the pot."

[This one is going to be short and sweet.]
"General Ironside, no damage or casualty reports have come in yet," the General's aide-de-camp reported.
Old Ironsides chuckled, "Of course they haven't Lieutenant, the ESS isn't composed of a bunch of magicians who's eyes can see through artillery fire, nor can they collect and organize the data they need to make a report is mere seconds."
The aide had the grace to blush for his impatience, "Of course not, sir. I'll remember that in the future."
"You do that. And go to my comms section and tell them to generate the advance order," General Ironsides instructed.
The Lieutenant gave a quick nod and jogged off to do his task like an eager-to-please puppy. Half an hour later two columns of tanks were advancing on an east-west lateral from the cities of New Edinburgh and Gwynedd at a rapid clip. The objective was for the two armies to cut the Corrheian advance off at the knees and then start advancing against whatever resistance was put up to secure as much Corrheian territory as possible.
In the sky, above Western Corrheia
"Reee-haw!" the pilot screamed out as the Ann Coulter Mark II swooped down on the MiG-19's, launching 10 missiles simultaneously. He laughed maniacally as he saw a MiG evade a Slander missile. For a second, it seemed the missile didn't hit the target at all, exploding withing 200 meters from it. But the plane went on pointlessly, whatever it had for avionics obviously dead, fried by the EMP blast (OOC: Slanders are EMP), the uncontrollable engine pushing the pilot onwards and onwards, to his doom. Everywhere, similar pictures repeated themselves. However, some Corrheians did manage to hit a Coulter or two with their missiles or cannons. 20 AC-II fighter jets where lost.
OOC: And what do you want? These are 200 MiG-19's vs. 500 cutting edge craft!
East Allanea
The tanks were speeding along the highway. They just got off the trains, and every driver, pilot, soldier along the border knew: every second counted. Somewhere out there, Corrheians were massacring defenseless, innocent Allaneans.
Well, maybe not defenseless
...
Wayne Sverdlovski, a cocaine farmer, cried as he saw his farm burn. But not for long. When he saw the long rows of Corrheians with torches and AK-47's advancing accross his property, he thought of his two young daughters. He though of his wife, whom he loved for twenty years. And he knew what he had to do. He wouln'd let the Corrheians have them. Not without a fight. He rushed his wife out of the house, gave her the keys to his pickup, and told her to "git the durn kids to the neares city". He told her that he would follow soon. But as he turned to the Corrheians who where already approaching his farmhouse, he thought not of retreat, but of the antique World War One Maxim machinegun he kept in the attic. Wayne Svrdlovksi was sure going to die, one day, but he sure as hell did not mean to die alone.
...
"Faster! Faster!" Screamed a Battalion commander. He knew that the troops where already taking everything they could out of the engines, but he had to say it. After all, people where dying out there.
...
Jonathan Petrov screamed "Die! Die, commies!" as he ran out towards the advancing rows of Corrheians. His father was an executive at that Allanean Pharmaceuticals plant. He died in the first bombing. Petrov was thinking of his father as he hauled out his Teen Dream 2000 autopistol and began firing frantically at his attackers. Three 7.62*39mm bullets hit him almost immediately.
"See you, Dad."
Petrov was lying in the mud, face up, and looking with wide-open eyes into the grey, cloudy sky. He was smiling.
...
An Ariel Sharon combat bulldozer jumped out in fron of a small group of attackng Corrheians. The attached loudspeakers where playing the Allanean Anthem - so loud that the howl of Jason Voorhoosen helicopters was almost dronwed out by it and similar system. The gunner liked the music. He was still whistling the tune for the Anthem as he blew a Corrheian apart with a short burd from his 30mm The battle began.

As soon as we get a position on one of those nukes, knock them out with MOABs. Don't worry about the Sarin. Our Legionary suits will keep our men safe." General Albert von Tusk, commander of the 1st Army paced in the Scandavian bunker that served as his command post. "Our troops are landing in the States as we speak. We should have a penetration
force of two armored divisions ready to move into Corrheia within a day. The first will go directly to their capital. The second will penetrate some 80 kilometers from the coastline and secure important positions. Bombers from Edolia will provide the air support needed. Do we have our HALO troops ready?" Leftenant Andrew von Quist looked
up.
"Yes sir. They're all set for immediate deployment. Whenever we want, we can go." Albert von Tusk nodded. Suddenly the phone range. Von Tusk leaned over and flicked on the screen.
“What is it?”
“Sir!” The face of Hertz von Gerin, an intelligence officer appeared on the screen. “The Allaneans have just hit Corrheian nuclear sites with mini-nukes.”
“Shit.”
“What’s our response, sir?”
“Say nothing at this time. Thank you.” The general switched the screen off. “Give the order.”

All throughout Edolia special operations forces were loading on Jericho-4x high-altitude stealth transports. All in all, some 2,000 members of the Red Palace Guards –Edolia’s elite urban combat forces- and 2,000 Death’s Head assassin-soldiers are to be taken in a massive air flotilla, consisting of some 40 planes. Almost undetectable to such radar as would be employed by the Corrheians, they are to drop down into the Corrheian capital and secure important government buildings. They are Edolia’s top urban fighters. Their mission is to kill as few people as possible and to take top officials captive.

The two armor divisions penetrate into Corrheian territory simultaneously, two hours before Edolian troops airdrop into the Corrhein capital. Each armored division consists of some 7,500 troops –fully mechanized- and approximately 500 tanks of various different types <<OOC: My main computer got fried, so I can’t access the files that tell me exactly what they contain>> and can move against enemy forces with great speed. We expect that much of the coastline of Corrheia –including the capital- will be secure in a matter of days. Air forces are on stand-by to deal with any difficult spots that may spring up.
Edolian forces are following a doctrine of keeping casualties on all sides to a minimum. Corrheian forces are to be surrounded and cut off from supplies using blitzkreig tactics, rather than killed by overwhelming force.

Once the lead element of both armies had made a line that stretched the length of both Corrheian border they inverted upon themselves and squeezed any Corrheian formations between them. Those soldiers who were predisposed to do so were allowed to surrender and those who continued to resist were taken out. This accomplished the Dublin Guards formed a border guard that proctected both sides from each other and if either military wanted to get to the other they would have to go through the Dublin Guards.
Meanwhile the Royal Guards were sweeping south/south-east to meet up with the now attacking Osaka Guards Army, a numerically weaker army that still packed a nasty left hook. The Osaka Guards were moving from the southern tip of the Imperium and heading straight south to make another cutoff line. Once the line was formed they would then head north/north-west and meet up with the now advancing Royal Guards.
There was now a sense of urgency, the Edolians were going to enter the conflict soon and they needed to be sure that they wouldn't have to watch their backs while they took out Corrheia's leadership.
"Mr. President, another usless war."

2000 Aids and Nurses
200 Doctors
20 Ambulances
5 Mobile Hospitals
Then send in support for Allanea, I refuse to stand by and watch countries invade senselessly, they must be stopped, we must show our support. Send in:
1 carrier containing:
100 F-22s
100 JSFs
200 UCAV
1 battleship containing:
1000 M1A2 Abrams
10,000 Infantry"

The Capital of Corrheia
The fighting is lasting for hours on end. The Edolians are well-trained, more so than the Government Security Committe forces, but the GSC forces are much more numerous, outnumbering the Edolians about 2.5 to 1. AK-47's ring constantly, mixed with the screams of the dying and wounded. Also, 50 T-80 tanks are employed to fight the Edolians.
In a secret bunker deep below the city, the General Secretary of the Party is preparing for his last stand...
"What happened to the facilities?"
"Destroyed, but we still have a handful of warheads hidden. Eight nuclear weapons and two hundred sarin warheads, to be sure."
"Good. This shall be enough."
the Scandavian Front
Lao Ring, CPC Ticket #45535, is about to become a Hero of Corrheia.
He squints hard as he aims for the Scandavian tanks and drops what he thinks is a conventional bomb.
The 1.5 kiloton blast proves him wrong.
Fifteen minutes later, Len Mang, CPC Ticket $665764, becomes a hero too - he's simply on a different section of the front, about ten miles away, and does not know what happened to his comrade.
The Allanean Front
The Corrheian Army is no more. Slaughtered by missiles, cannons, and helicopters, the remaining handful of troops begin to retreat, back to Corrheia - which they think is safe.
When two SCUD-M missiles carrying nuclear warheads hit on the forefront of the advancing Allanean army, they are proven wrong as they, too, are taken over and destroyed by the blast.
OOC: Falastur! Where are you?
Albert von Tusk read the reports. The forces heading for the capital were making excellent progress and encountering little resistance. Casualties were extremely low -estimates were that less than two dozen Edolians hads been killed. Good. Hopefully the war will be over soon. The commander of Edolia's most elite Army put down the stack of papers and sat down at his desk. He sighed. Time to write another report back to Blatterschplitt. At least it was good news.
---
Bullets whipped by Terrance von Hearn's head. Close, he thought. Dropping to the edge of one of the capital of Corrheia's taller buildings, he peered through the sight of his long, military-grade sniper rifle. One of Edolia's Red Palace Guards, urban combat was what he was trained for. He squeezed the trigger. His target fell. The sound-modifiers on the Edolian's helmet picked up something. Terrance froze. Someone was opening the door to the roof of his building. How could I not have heard it earlier? he thought. It took only a hundredth of a second for that thought to cross his mind, and only the remainder of that second for him to turn his body over, his rifle sliding across the roof away from him. In an instant, a knife was in his hand and half a second after that, it was flying through the air. It took only two seconds all together for the entire process -the result of which was a very dead Corrheian soldier. Terrance shook himself. Far too close for comfort. Pressing an indentation in the side of his helmet, he contacted his commander. "What's our status, sir?"
"We're still trying to clear out a way to get to their main governmental buildings. There's heavy resistance, and they've got us badly outnumbered. On the other hand, the Corrheians don't have anything near our level of military training or equipment. We've been training for this since we were four. There's little they can do to match that."
"Yes sir. Anything I can do?"
"I've got orders from higher up that we're to launch an assault on their government buildings. We'll need heavy sniper support. There are three wings that are going to participate, all together comprising about half of our operating strength. The first will distract them, stepping up attacks around the city. The second will launch a direct assault on their primary defenses. Those guys will be armed with our heaviest weaponry. The third, comprised primarily of our Death's Head, will launch a slightly different assault through the sewers. We've gotten a map of the system, and we expect that they should be able to penetrate their defenses from below. A quick sweep into the city to arrest their leaders and we've got this operation in the bag."
"What will I do, sir?"
"You'll be part of the secondary wing. Full-frontal assault."
"Yes sir." Suddenly an explosion knocked Terrance off his feet. "What was that sir?"
"Probably an anti-tank missile. They brought in some T-80s, but without a modern airforce or defenses, they're powerless to stop our stealth fighters from coming in and taking out anything we want to."
"Brilliant, sir."
---
The assault was on. Rocket launchers pounded the walls of the government buildings as Edolian troopers attacked the compound. A "full-frontal assault" was underway. But it was far different from what most people would consider "full" and "frontal," with the Edolians taking positions of defense from which to fight behind. Flank-defenders made sure that the attackers weren't taken by suprise. Regardless of tactics, the fire being brought to bear was quicte significant and would hopefully bring a great number of enemy soldiers to their government's defense.
---
In the sewers, the situation was a bit different. The sounds of fire could be heard from above as the members of the Death's Head forces moved quietly through the muck of Corrheia's capital. "Disgusting." Andrew von Gerst sneered.
"Quiet down." Leftenant Derik von Otenstople pointed at his map. "We're nearing the entrance to their basement. Let's give these fake communists a suprise, shall we?" The other soldiers nodded. As the 90 men moved through the sewers, the fighting raged overhead...
And only twenty kilometers away, the Edolian tank columns were moving...
---
"Holy shit! Corrheia's just raining nukes, isn't it?!" Chancellor Flavia von Blatterschplitt stared at Albert von Tusk. "What the hell is going on?"
"M'ame." He tried to calm her down. "There's not much we can do. The Allaneans were trying to take the nukes out, the Corrheians were trying to use them.. it's not a good situation. Luckily nothing's hit our forces yet."
"It better damn well stay that way, General." The Chancellor wasn't happy. "If I get reports of Edolians going up in nuclear smoke, I will not be happy, nor will the people of Edolia."
"Yes m'ame. I understand. We're stepping up air patrols, putting some 500 Hellions into the air, and an additional 200 early-warning variants. They aren't going to get a conventional fighter through, let alone a bomber carrying a nuke."
"What about their SCUD launchers?"
"Well... those are a bit more difficult to deal with. We're trying to locate them with our satellites. When we find one, we take it out. But it's not that easy."
"If a bomb did hit one of our columns... what would happen?"
"It wouldn't be a disaster. Our forces are spread out enough that the Corrheians really don't have a bomb big enough to do too much damage. I expect if they hit us with one of their 1.5-ers, we would sustain casualties in the hundreds, nothing more."
"Good. Flavia out."

[Hold up, now. All Scandavian divisions have heavy organic air defenses, there's no way in hell a MiG-21 is going to get anywhere near any of my forces. Furthermore, a kiloton nuke would only destroy a battalion of tanks, which is 58 out of over 10,000 tanks and in return every single air base you have would be nuked as would anything that even hinted of having a missile anywhere near it. I strongly suggest you rewrite that.]

OOC: Remember that? You did not react. So I assume they went through Besides, I only have one (1) military airbase.
In the sky above West Corrheia
In the meanwhile, two more MiG's took off towards the Scandavian forces, flying low to avoid the radars.
100 Jeffrey Dahlmer APC's and 40 Hannibal Lector tanks are destroyed by the explosions. Also, about 1,000 troops are killed, mostly due to radiation and debris.
3,000 Civilians are reported lost.
"Commanders of the MID's! Proceed to operation Lightning!"
And so the divisions move into Corrheia at maximum speed. With luck, they'll be 600 km inside Corrheia within the next 7 hours. In the meanwhile, a special injection team (500 troops carried on Jason Voorhoosen helicopters) is carried, as fast as possible, as deep as possible into Corrheia.
OOC: It's 1:45 AM here, probably reflects on the post quality...
<<OOC: Oh... I forgot one thing about the sewer-attack... I should just clarify it... I assume that Corrheia will respond to everything soon (just want to make sure he didn't forget).
Also, SS, I perhaps didn't warn you, but our governments would have been aware that the Corrheians were likely to use small nuclear weapons on our troops.>>
As the sewer attack wing moved towards the entrance to the basement, Leftenant Derik von Otenstople pulled a grenade from his backpack. Keeping the pin in, he gestured to a group of men. "Open it."
<<OOC: If for some reason you don't have sewers or something like that, or they wouldn't ever connect to your basements, tell me and we'll ignore the whole thing... I just assumed this would be pretty straight forward.>>

[Allanea: My troops are enforcing a strict peacekeeping policy. Your troops will not be allowed to cross into Corrheia and Corrheian troops will not be allowed to cross into Allanea. It would not be wise to try to force the issue.
Edolia: *glares* And you didn't tell me this why? Oh well, 58 tanks and a company of infantry lost in the bombing.]
The Allaneans are stopped at the border by the presence of the Dublin Guards Army and calmly told over open radio that in order to affect a quick end to hostilities the border is closed to all non-Imperial units, which meant both the Corrheian and Allanean militaries.
Meanwhile, a telegram was dispatched to the Allaneans that informed them of the current Haven peacekeeping operation and that any and all offensive actions against Corrheia were to cease for the duration of the peacekeeping mission. They were also informed that use of force was authorized by Imperium units against units on either side that insisted on persecuting the war.
However, the most interesting action was retaliation for the use of nuclear weapons. Twelve B-84 Peregrine bombers lifted off from Black Sands AFB and made a short two-hour flight to a launch point, whereupon the stealth bombers released four cruise missiles each. The missiles climbed to the outer edges of the atmosphere and then dived down upon their targets at more than Mach 10, making them almost impossible to shoot down. All of the missiles were targeted at the airbase that had been the point of origin for the MiG-21s, however all but twelve of the missiles were decoys and stuffed to brimming with all manner of ECM that didn't effect the live missiles because of their LIDAR guidance. However, the twelve that were live each contained 10 kiloton gamma ray warheads that penetrated one hundred feet into the ground before detonating, which in effect cratered and rendered useless the airbase.
[Gamma ray warheads operate just like normal nukes, which, except for an initial dose of immediately lethal gamma rays, have no radiation and leaves behind no fallout.]

The General Secretary gasps as he reads the reports. The Corrheian AirForce is no more. The infantry broke against the Allanean froces like a wave aganst the shore. The UNAPS has betrayed his trust - and their troops were at his doorstep.
When a powerful exposion shaked the entrance, he understood they were there literally.
There was only one thing left to do.
Lao Mang, CPC Ticket #1, General Secretary of the Corrheian Communist Party, Commander in Chief of the Corrheian Army, Father of The Revolution, reached for the large metal box under his table. There was a small lever on that box. He pulled it. And then there was nothing.
*****
As the flamiing debris of the nuclear explosion towers into the athmosphere, the remnants of what was General Secretary Mang arched out through the sky. Somewhere out there a child asked:
"What's that, Mom?"
"A falling star, darling. Make a wish, quick!"
Terrance von Hearst had the man in his sights. Just barely peering out of one of the upper stories of the building across the street was an enemy sniper. He had already taken out an Edolian and wounded another two. Not bad for a foreigner. The Edolian sniper steadied his rifle. Three… two… Terrance’s victim died mere milliseconds before Terrance himself. They, like thousands of other Corrheians and Edolians, never knew what hit them.

“Casualty reports are still coming in, but they’re estimated to be somewhere around 1,400 of our boys dead, sir.” Albert von Tusk looked up from the satellite pictures he had been studying. His aide, Leftenant Ming Kangxi continued to speak. “It’s also expected that Corrheian civilian and military casualties are somewhere between 10,000 and 20,000. It’s ugly, sir.”
“Thank you Leftenant. If you could just drop the report on my desk, I’m expecting a call from the Chancellor. I don’t expect she’ll be too happy about this.” The aide nodded, turrned and left the room. Right on cue, the phone rang. Albert von Tusk sighed and turned it on. As he had expected, the annoyed face of the Imperator’s daughter –and the Chancellor of the Scarlet Empire- stared back at him. “Is there something I can do for you, m’lady?” he asked.
“How did you let this happen?”
“Well… m’ame… it wasn’t entirely under our control. If the enemy has nuclear weapony and they want to use them, there’s not much we can do to stop them, especially if they aren’t using ICBMs. We can’t shoot down suitcase nukes.”
“If I didn’t think you were right, there would be someone else in charge of the 1st Army right now. However, the people of Edolia aren’t going to be pleased to hear of this. 80,000 Edolians died fighting the Allaneans just a few years ago. Now over a thousand have died defending them! This doesn’t look good to the voters. And the election is tomorrow.”
“Is that what this is about, Chancellor?” Albert von Tusk shook his head. “This is, more than any other I have fought, a just war. We are not only eliminating an aggressive dictatorship in our backyard, we are keeping the Allaneans from subjugating another people. The Edolian voters will see that I am sure. Don’t worry. I don’t think you need be concerned over tomorrow’s outcome. Poll numbers are good for our parties, and even if we lose…” He winked. “Your father is the Imperator.” The Chancellor shook her head.
“Good luck, General. Flavia out.”

As the 1st Army’s 1st Armored Division rolled into the outskirts of the Corrheian capital, the Edolian troops kept a close watch. Loudspeakers in the armored vehicles played a message in Corrheian: ”The General Secretary is dead. Edolian forces are in control of the country. Be calm. We are here to help you, for freedom, for socialism, for democracy.” This complements the similar messaged played by Edolian forces all over Corrheia as the rest of the 1st Army penetrates the border from the Scandavian States. Another, longer message is currently being printed and distributed in Corrheian newspapers, over the radio and on television.
Citizens of Corrheia,
The Socialist Empire of Edolia, acting on behalf of other Haven nations and the United Alliace of Progressive States, has officially taken control of Corrheia and has declared itself in charge of running the affairs of the country until a proper interim government can be put in place. Our lightning-quick conquest of Corrheia was undertaken not in defense of Allanea, or as an assault on the Corrheian people, but in order to eliminate a government that was ready and willing to sacrifice the nation and would have brought the country under Allanean dominion. Edolia values Corrheia as an ally and does not wish to see it become just another province of Allanea and we pledge to work hard to maintain the independence of Corrheia and establish a government that will be truly representative to the people of Corrheia. A plan is underway that will include an economic boost to Corrheia, thrusting it into the mainstream of Haven nations. Furthermore, we expect that within four years, the Corrheian people will be able to assume full control over their nation’s future. All we ask from you is that you cooperate with us as we work to better your lives.
[signed]
Erik von Blatterschplitt,
Imperator of the Socialist Empire of Edolia
Due to the fact our intelligence tells us that splinter GSC troops will still fight to preserve whatever remains of the old regime, the Free Republic of Allanea wishes to be able to para-drop a small force of Ted Nugent Division elite troops at the vicinity of the "Mao Dam" in order to conduct a Prison Liberation Operation on Mao Dam to liberate the thousands - nay, dozens of thousands - of prisoners there. Is that possible?
Back in Allanea, the troops are already running towards the cargo planes...

Why would we spy on someone who until very recently was our ally? Furthermore, say we did task our satellites to look for this dam and found multiple dams, are we supposed to send a Parachute Infantry Regiment to each one and subdue or kill every person at every damn? Also, it was mentioned that these people were prisoners, who's to say they don't belong there?
According to the official Corrheian statements, they use ex-drug users to work on the projects, and intelligence reports add that they are also employing political prisoners.

Well then, that solves the problem for us. As far as the Imperium is concerned the law of the land is the law and if it's illegal for Corrheian citizens to consume drugs then it's illegal and we can only assume that the punishment recieved was just according to Corrheian laws.
So, we will forward your concerns to the Edolian government and ask them to deal with the dam and its prisoner-workers as they see fit.

As we have assumed the power of government after the death of Comrade Mang, we are forced to issue the surrender of Corrheia to the Government of Edolia, as it seems to be the only one with a vestige of legitimacy.
