Praetonia
20-06-2004, 10:34
All over Praetonia huge screens were constructed in town centres and village halls, every one of them tuned in to the live video feed from the rocket. Praetonia stopped today to look in wonder to stars as the first piece of Praetonian built eqipped was launched into space with the rocket from Praetonian soil. The Prime Minister made a speach today saying how great an achievement this is for Praetonia, and our Victoria Alliance friends, and declared today a national holiday.
Greenmanbry
20-06-2004, 11:41
The Greenmanbry Minister of Defense himself went to witness this awesome achievement. He later spoke to reporters:

"Today is a great day for the nations of the Victoria Alliance. It marks a historical event where our nations leapt from the confines of our magnificent Earth to the vast expanse of space. Although I don't have the technical details of this project.. and I doubt I'd understand them..."

(laughter)..

"I would like to extend my congratulations to Praetonia, Camewot, Credonia, Falastur, Cam III, Hamptonshire, and all remaining nations of the Victoria Alliance... and we hope everything goes well and.. uhh.. we would really like greater Greenmanbry involvement in future projects.. Time for the President to think about setting up a space program now that he industrialized the country...

And Praetonia couldn't have chosen a better day to perform the launch."

Falastur
20-06-2004, 13:24
Around Falastur, and all of its territories, huge screens appeared, almost overnight. There had been great fervour for months as to the launching of the two satellites - not because the launching of satellites was a particularly momentous occasion in itself, but as it was the first step in the great Victoria Alliance pathway to the stars. First a satellite, next a manned mission, next a glorious colonisation, and that gave the people of Falastur something great to cheer for. Millions upon millions left their homes to congregate around the screens, witnessing the event as it happened. Tens of thousands had flown to Praetonia to witness the event live. While in barely 10 minutes of excitement, the event was over, the hubbub created lasted for days afterwards.

In correspondance with the launching of the satellites, the Emperor himself made a speech to the nation of Falastur, and to any other countries recieving the International Falasturian Television Network (IFTN) Channel, proclaiming that,

".....This is a great day for the Victoria Alliance, and the citizens of every country within it. We have shown that we can work united together to achieve a goal, to do something great, and to lead the way to a glorious future. Citizens of the Victoria Alliance, around the globe, can take pride in being part of this, and of having witnessed what can surely be described as the end of an era of challenge, and the beginning of an era of progression together. And I do so humbly hope that through acts like this, those citizens will increase in numbers as our nations can see our successes and join us, to further progress together."
Fozoni

FBC (Fozoni Broadcasting Corporation) Broadcasted this message the following morning

The peoples of Fozoni enjoyed a national holiday yesterday in recognition of the success of the victoria space program. Celebrations lasted long into the night as traffic ground to a halt due to large scale television screens. President Foz had this to say:

"It shows that our involvement is a fruitful and worthwhile aventure for such a proud nation. The show of unity and celebration is an obvious example of the postive effect that the Victoria Alliance has."

This morning, we at FBC can show that Victoria Sceptic Parties have ahd a drop in public opinion polls
Credonia

In Credonia, hundreds of millions of people watched on their televisions as the launch of the Delta IV rocket lifted off into the morning sky. Following the launch, President Sutton gave a short and bried statement.

"Today, the world watched history as the first satellite of the Victoria Alliance soared into the skies, on a billowing, and magnificent pillar of smoke and fire to place the first satellite in a series of many into orbit. As the nation housing the VSEC Headquarters, I can only be proud of the accomplishment that we have achieved and the hard work that the men and women who worked on this mission and program to bring is the first success of many to come in the following months.

This success also represents the success of the Victoria Alliance. We and the members have come together in a unified effort to push the limits of science and technological innovation despite small internal problems and crisis. Let this stand as a testimate that the alliance is strong, and that we can progress together because the best is yet to come. Thank you."
Hamptonshire

The Grand Duke issued this statement to the HNN:

Today is a historic day in the annuls of history. Our brethern in the Victoria Alliance has stepped into a new era in space flight. This launch is a testament to the dedication that the Alliance Member States have to the Victoria Alliance and its ideals.

Scientific advancement is the right of all nations. Every man, woman, and child deserves the most advanced technologies available. This launch symbolizes the dedication to scientific advancement that all Victoria Alliance members share.

God Bless the Victory Alliance, and God Bless the Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire.
Halibris

President Fern:
Fellow citizens, today we have witnessed a great leap foward in the scientific progress of our nation. Two satellites have soared recently into the great, beautiful void of space above us. This has enabled a progression in technology and communication the likes of which are unprecedented in our history.
We could not, of course, have accomplished this now without the Victoria Alliance, which this was a joint project of. This is an example of what nations can achieve when they put together their resources for a common good. God bless you and God bless the nations of the VA.
