King John II steps up to the microphone:

"Ladies and gentleman of the world. As of today Spain and Portugal are now part of Matich. The 7th Army based in Southern Spain has begun taking control of these two former nations. I have ordered the annexation because I am the rightful heir to the Spanish and Portuguese thrones. My claim dates back to the Habsburgs. The Spanish and Portuguese Monarchies have surrendered and both countries are now apart of Matich. Thank you and have a nice day."


12 CBGs are off the coast of Spain and Portugal making sure no foreign forces enter the country. The 7th Air Force is patrolling the skies and the 7th Army has put down resistance that was encountered which was almost none.

The Kings of Spain and Portugal are now Matich Dukes.

The Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire congratulates the Matich on it's annexation. The people of Spain and Portugal shall forever florish under your rule. May King John II live a thousand years.

OOC: On a side note, can we come to an agreement on Hamptonian Royal Navy movement through the Strait of Gibraltar?

HM Queen Elizabeth III extends her congratulations to King John II in light of his apparent succession to the Iberian thrones, while noting that this has ("bugger all") little bearing upon the democratic basis of the nations inhabiting said same peninsula.

Behind the scenes, meanwhile, Prime Minister John Bull sends to Matich, along with a second expression of Britain's assertion that monarchy gives right to chief of state and not head of government in Spain and Portugal, that the UK expects and requires that its administration of Gibraltar be respected. Failure to comply with this, states the PM, should result in a war cry being sent from London to the entire English-speaking world, and of course to the removal of the Matich government.

Well I owned the Southern Spain and I owned the rest of Spain and Portugal for a short while but then I decided not to buy them from Skullzz so I gave them back.
