OOC: When a bomber comes crashing from the sky and kills this with a well placed smart bomb, I'll have fun watching you replace a hugely expensive, essentaly stationary, weapon.

OOC: Luckily it's not mine it's a friend of mine. Besides, big guns are cool and they scare people. Besides, you know you want one for a museum...

OOC: They scare only those who do not know what to make of it. Tell your friend he should resort to more conventional guns, he might get himself 100 more guns that he'd get with this. For a museum, where it belongs, it is OK.

OOC: It looks so cool though... eh, he needs me to sell this for money. Gotta admit, it is ridicioulisly huge. And like I said I'll sell this for museums too

ooc: Actually this gun was Hitler's original solution to the Maginot line, before they decieded to go around it via holland. the one (mentioned on the bottom of the website) that got use was used on the USSR to destroy some of their overly done forts. (Old converted russian forts) Actually (unfortunately) Canadians almost broke the record for world's biggest gun when a Canadian engineer contracted himself to Saddam Huessien (back when he had American money to burn) he wanted a chemical delivery system to gas Israeli cities. I forget the exact times on that one but the gun was supposedly going to be big enough to wipe out a city with one shot (7 tons of bio weapons will do that) The gun could be recalibrated in about an hour or something. So in less than a day the idea was he should've been able to kill everyone is Israel. The Canadian engineer was killed and took the plans to the grave. The unfinished gun was destroyed in the guld war,.... and I've just rambled horribly so I'll stop.

Anyone who buys that is an idiot. Which means there will be many people here buying them. That thing would be so easy to destroy.
The Dark Lord Chaos

easy to destroy maybe, but you could at least get one shot off before then, and that would be awesome. i want one. money is no object. well it is, but that's just an expression.

20-06-2004, 05:38
Wow. One shot. That would really be worth 500 million, huh?

20-06-2004, 05:38
Then buy it for a museum

And yes I will give you one. I assume the money is wired automatically. You'll get one in an NS year. Come on, I know it can be destroyed, but it's so ridicioulously big!

OMGZ DORA!!!!!!!

My lord, the Germans built it, and never got to really use it....they laid siege to a town in Russia for 2 weeks so they could fire it....useless gun...but, deployed in mass, with ample AA...and you could bombard incomming fleets with it

We have bigger, perhaps if you upped you payload, maybe we'd be interested...

OOC: I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but the DORA and similar guns needed to be re-barraled after shooting... I believe only around 3 shots total before a new barrel was needed.
Tychsenistan

I will buy it, we have a museum of the great patriotic war with a place reserved for such a beast. Tychenistan obviously has no such need for it as a weapon in the world of precision air strikes... :D

I'll take one. There cool you can't get a much bigger gun and i might be able to fit it on a ship, with a few ajustments. It won't be so easy to destroy if you guard it with anti air missles. any way, 1 big gun please. the money wiered upon delivery.

The Republic wishes to procure one for tests, to see whether it can be converted into a launcher for smaller spacecraft, to supplement our own mass driver facility. Money will be wired once the order is confirmed.
