Sent to sea were the three main fleets of the Neo-Soviet Russian Red Fleet. Though the first major the deployment they were ready to show what they had learned throughout their training. Above the Gulf strayed satellites, awaiting to record all action for future reference.

The Admiral stood in the bridge of his mighty and proud ship...He waited and looked at the NSR fleet. Quietly, he mumbled "This is as closest to war as we have gotten." The comm officer looked at him and said

"We have gotten the order to start the "engagement."

"Good, remember, non-damaging lasers only, no real ammunition. Prepair to launch the planes. Tell the back up fleets we probably will need them. Then, let's begin this with tradition...Fire upon thier lead ship.

Several ANL ships fired computer generated shots and laser beams upon the flagship of the NSR fleet.

Topside on the Vulpine class HNC Dalske a flight of four F/A-18E Super Hornets set off from the catapults. Behind them another flight was being prepped, Tomcats to be exact. They were to join up with other aircraft already up included a pair of Hawkeyes and their escorting Tomcats and Hornets.

In the bridge Admiral David Mathias's attention was set on a few fresh overhead images of the Gulf. Third and Second fleets were both 20 miles away from first, one north of the fleet, the other souths.

"We're too close...together and to them.."

His mind worked a number of plans of action to run through.A hand roamed the table, grabbing a pen before scribbling down orders. Handing the paper to a comm officer close, he then looked back at the maps, sensors. The screech of catapults could be heard through steel walls. Next came barks through the headset of one of the comm officers.

"Sir, the Lawrence's been hit!"

"Hell, details. Now!"

"They're reporting foward damage. Foward catapults and flight deck. Registering damage below decks. Deploying damage crews as they speak. Captain says that they'll be able to use the mid ship cats but could be damned iffy recovering planes other than the Gen's."

-----

Crewmen rushed over the deck, dressed in fire gear and carrying hoses. Though this was merely a drill the crew took all actions seriously. Two planes were launched just as the 'rounds hit' and that meant a bit more damage registered. Under them for a number of decks more troops ran through narrow halls, simulating their parts as well.

-----

Having received their orders Second and Third fleets began spreading out from First. Each fleet's pair of Vulpine aircraft carriers, with aircraft already up, the decks were to soon fill up then empty once Pilots knew of their targets.
Vengence class Fast Missile Cruisers scanned the enemy with radar, missiles ready for launch, railguns tracking.
Merciless class Air Defense Cruisers and Stalwart class Modular Frigates both watched the air, awaiting missiles and aircraft, the first of the two, along with a batch Brutus class Fast Attack Submarines and carrier based Crow MkII helicopters played anti-submarine warfare.

-----

From the bridgeof the Vengence class Cruiser Gressier, Captain Blish looked over the view given of his ship. Eyes looking over rows of doors, under them were missiles awaiting to be launched. The man turned his head, looking towards the crew behind him then glanced down at a pocket watch. Mouthing a few words he then gave a single word.

"Fire."

-----

Within the three fleets missiles arose from the Vengence cclass FMCs. Five from each ship. Sixty Ships. Three hundred missiles total. An extremely weekend version of typical strike missiles, they carried merely enough explosive to self detonate, which they would when close enough to mark their targets with the designating lasers.

The Admiral yelled out "All ships, evasive manuvers!"

Suddenly, the ships began rocking back and forward, side to side and moving in odd directions. However, all of the sudden, several alarms went off.

"We have taken damage to our port side...fires reported on deck 12...the Tenochitilan has taken damage to it's forward facing gun turrets...the Montezuma has taken light damage and is still combat worthy."

The Admiral said "Dispatch fire squads to put out the fires, signal all ships to begin attack pattern delta-6."

"Aye, sir, attack delta-6 will comence on your command"

"Also, tell the anti-aircraft guns they better be ready."

The ships formed back up in a Cheveron pattern. Once the Admiral heard all the ships were back in formation, he ordered

"Fire."

All the ships launched "torpedos" and missiles and the NSR fleet. However, the incomming NSR missiles were able to damage some more ANL ships...three frigates were critically damaged and had fires, one battle cruiser had taken a hit low and is taking on water and several other ships have taken minor damage, as the armor was able to take the brunt of the impact.

Four aircraft squadrons were moving to intersept the NSR ships and fire.

"Radar, contact! Sir, we're picking up..um..I'm counting"

"Counting..counting..what?!"

Katoki, commanding officer of Thrid fleet's Vengence class Hideo, was over the crew man's shoulder in but a moment.

"Buddha and Christ...they're opening up like hell..specially towards First."

"Looks like it sir"

Tilting his head up just a bit, a comm officer spoke aloud.

"Sir, fleet commander says target what you can and give another round then prepare for incoming."

"We're going to just sit on our thumbs..no"

Mumbling those for words his voice grew.

"You heard the order, fire another volley then prepare. Warn the men."

-----

In minutes the scene above Second turned into a fire works war gone astray. Smoke streaked across the air in a hundred different spots. Missiles up and away, going off towards the ANL fleet. The men of the ships, those who needed to anyway, rushed in preperation. Systems of the Merciless and Stalwart class ships were alert and filled the air with more smoke and 'rounds' from Mk 44 Sea Sabre CAMDSs as missiles streaked towards the massive fleet.

-----

"Commander, we're getting reports on the Grisham, Nein, Simmons, all reporting light damage. Unfortunatly...one of the other Vengences are near dead, crews are trying to save 'em but she'll be pretty much useless. Three of the Arleigh Bs are medium to heavy, engines of one out, bridge of a second gone. Third took a trio, leveling most of deck and killing weapons. Forth, Davis somehow managed. Also reporting Three Mercilesses taking light."

"Lovely.."

-----

As a few last missiles came the list grew. A Merciless and Stalwart were hit heavy, other ships received light to nothing.

-----

About two hundred feet under the surface and a mile in front of First fleet were ten Brutus class FABs, spread to intercept any possible incoming. All were listening when they caught the sound of torp screws. Closing fast captains ordered their men to fire at the in bounds. In moments tubes were flooded then their contents, 650mm torpedoes going off to meet. Sonar men listened, awaiting any explosions.

-----

"Admiral, in bounds from the enemy. Counting over atleast a hundred, hundred twenty. Missiles and fighters"

Glancing at the radar officer and the screen before him, the Admiral then pivoted on his heel.

"Order all aircraft off this boat. Hawkeyes to go wide, tracking, pair of Hornets for each. Hornets, Gencors, and Tomcats intercept what they can, Prowls behind their asses jamming as loud as they can. Send the rest of the Viks out, two screens crossing eachother. Everything else off doing what they can."

The sounds of relayed orders could already be heard through the steel via the sounds of launching aircraft.

"Someone call out to the Lawrence. Tell her to send what she can. Even if simply Gens. What she cant recover we'll try to handle. Tell everyone else to prepare for incoming and another shot out.'

-----

Fire crews of the Lawrence were continuing work, working what they could of the decks and topside foward. Surviving aircraft on the deck, mainly the pair of Hawkeyes, nine Hornets, a flight of Tomcats, and three Prowlers were being prepped for flight, toed in line to be shot 'off the hip'. Instead of loading more of the convetional aircraft for launch, handling and extra prep crews were under in the hanger, prepping then wheeling Gencors to the elevators. Pilots slightly nervous swallowed before letting their VTOL capable aircraft slowly rise.

-----

Commander of the Third fleet, an Alexander Gregory looked over the radar screen then gave a smirk.

"Send the cruisers foward, high spread formation, full speed. Fire as they wish. Let the Brutes, Mercs, Stals and Arleighs go foward, some between the Vengs, some in front of us and the Stackpole. Tell the Stack to send out her Gens and a pair of Prowls, Viking spreading foward of the force, we'll be doing the same, also have the all Tomcats, Horns, and Hawks fly. Full spread, try full cover, and strike what we can."

Comm officers within the Estridge did as they were told. Planes not airborne were soon to be in the air.

-----

Missiles met missiles and jammers. Unlike second fleet this fleet would take less of the brunt when it came to the storm of missiles. What managed to pass through a set of streaks met guns of Sea Sabre and Phalanx systems. The resulting danage managed to be a set of four lightly damaged Vengences, a medium, and a heavy, foward missiles hit, and a Merciless was considered sunk

OOC: Not bad...story is pretty good. I'm confused on one thing...

IC:
The ANL ships, now in a bizzare and jagged formation, continued with eratic manuvers.

The Sensor officer reported "Sir, several of their ships have taken heavy damage. They are also launching many aircrafts."

The Admiral stood up and said "Alright, tell the Carrier fleets to launch all aircrafts. Once the aircrafts are launched, tell the carriers to fire off all weapons and then move off out of the way. Tell the escort to remian here though. Tell half of the ships in this fleet (the 1st) to go on anti-aircraft patrols and fire torpedos at the ships. All other ships are to execute fire plan sigmus-beta 12 (large scale missile attack--each ship fires 2-8 missiles, depending on ship size.) What's the damage report?"

The Engineer reports "Hull integrity at 85%, our rudder has taken mild damage, but we are having a very difficult time manuvering. One of our power generators is dead. Non-Nuclear, though."

The Admiral then turns to the fleet officer "Alright, how bout the rest of 'em?"

"Three ships, a Veracruz light cruiser, a Challenger Class Heavy Cruiser and a frigate have been destroyed...the battle cruiser that was taking on water is sinking and the crew is abandoning ship. Submarines have not taken any damage...A dreadnaught's reactor is out, back up power is at 56%. The 8 ships listed destroyed as are moving out of range."

The Admiral then yelled out "Tell the submarines to destroy enemy submarines. After enemy submarines are destroyed, then are to get behind the enemy and fire all weapons."

--In the Typhoon-II Submarine SAS Typhoon--

"SIR, orders are to destroy enemy submarines."

The Captain then sat in his chair and then ordered "alright...detect enemy submarines and then fire all four torpedo tubes at any enemy we encounter."

--In the air--
"All planes, this is AZ-29 Red Claw, orders are to begin bombing runs and machine gun fly bys on enemy ships. Once bombing is finished...we are to break formation and circle back to our home carriers."

The planes, flying slightly higher then the missiles, swoop down upon the NSR ships, machine guns blazed and fired upon the decks of the NSR ships while bombs fell. In several of the aircrafts, beeps were made for each time they were "hit." 5, 10, 15, 25 planes were hit enough to signal they were destroyed. The "destroyed" planes went back around to their respective ships.

In the main bridge of the ANL flagship...
"Sir, four more ships just listed as damaged. One is taking on water fast."
"Alright, then...tell the battleships to prepair their main guns"
"Aye, sir."

(Looking over this again, you made a glitch. There should be a bit of resistence when it comes to your planes assaulting First fleet. Though you labled kills for yourself I already had some aircraft in the air, others were launchin. There should've been some air combat..intercepts. not too much but still some. OOC: Sorry about that...I was going to RP, but I was short on time...I'll RP it now.

IC:
(In time sequence, this goes before they attacked the NSR fleet)
The planes flew quickly over the deep blue ocean, their reflections shimmering on the calm waters below. The planes zoomed overhead while in the planes them selves, a defensive plan was in the works.

"This is Alpha-Zero to Beta-9, reading many NSR planes...I approximate over 80."

"No problem, comrade, it seems before we take on the ships, we'll have to solve this WWII Air Dogfight style."

The planes came in closer to the NSR planes.

"Man, do those things look meancing!"
"I hope our's look even more fearsome!"
"Alright, all planes, open fire, Gattaling Guns only! Once we are in extremely close range, fire missiles!"

The ANL planes came out with all guns blazzing. The guns lit up as laser beams and light tracers flew into the air, hopefully hitting some targets. Missiles launched from the NSR ships, however, began picking off several fighters. Before long, 15 fighters were heading back to their home carriers.

"FIRE!"

Suddenly, all the planes launched missiles. Although the planes still had half of their missiles, the other half were lobbed at the enemy fighters.

(OOC: I'll RP the rest of their flight...I just want your response first)

Mark Zug, driver of a Tomcat looked out, his aircraft high, along with the other three of Skull Squadron's Third Flight.

"Why am I suddenly reminded of Star Wars?"

"What do you mean?

"Return of the Jedi...quick offenses...that sort of thing"

"I guess this is when I should have a bad feeling"

---

The air armada of seventy three fighters closed quickly towards the mix of Fulcrums and Fishbeds. Nearly all American aircraft facing off against all Russian aircraft. Irony in that the two forces were actually allies. As they came closer radios started to blair.

---

"Scatter! Scatter!"

The array of Gencors, Hornets, Tomcats, and the triplet of Prowlers went their seperate ways, some hitting the breaks and jerking up then over, others dropping to the deck while more climbed. Already pilots were hearing high beeps in the ears, tweleve to be exact. Luckly a number of planes managed to send another wave of missiles towards the enemy before the eradict split up. Within the next moments another set of four Hornets and a pair of Gencor would drop, the other fighters chasing or being chased. Unfortunatly though while they were at play a number of ship launched missiles from the ANL fleet passed.

---

"Brace for impact!"

Those words were useless to say, partly due to it being a simulation, partly due to the crew already were ready. Missiles streaked up to meet enemy inbounds while others still passed through the screen, catching gunfire. Unfortunatly ships still got hit. A Vengence class took three, computers letting it be known that missiles would've been hit and the ship as a whole would've been non-existant had it been a real conflict. Another pair of Vengences met similar fates, though catching more.

---

"Captain we've a problem!"

"What?"

Before the radar officer could continue alarms went off. The Lawrence Had taken taken out seven missiles, unfortunatly four still caught the ship.

"Sir, we're reporting elevator out of action, we're close to taking water, all flight ops are out of question and the hanger...sir...we might need to think of abandoning ship."

(Sorry...was playing a game with a friend. Let us continue this air battle)

Several of the planes reverberated with the sounds of little electronic beeps...the fatal sounds of weapon impacts (yes, dramaitc, but cool.)

While a solid majortity of planes were not destroyed, several of the planes were...12 AZ-21s and 19 AZ-29s. The AZ-21s clustered into a small group and began a manuver that would send shock waves. The AZ-21 was always the work horse for the ANL, and this would surely extend it's life in the Red Air Core. The planes formed up in a way that was similar to how a face on a Aztec pyramid would look. Then, with clean and perfect persision, the aircrafts, 42 in all, firied their gattaling guns and missiles. A deadly volley of weapons were fired. The guns consentrated on the enemy aircrafts while the missiles (84) contentrated on the boats. While the 42 AZ-21s manuevered back into a defensive live, the 38 other AZ-21s that did not participate in the "Temple Manuver" continued on with the AZ-29s.

The main swarm of ANL fighters came upon heavy fire when they approched the ships. In one pass alone, 25% of the fighter had taken critical damage while 15% of the sqaud was destroyed. "DAMN IT!" Yelled out a fighter pilot, angry about his fictious death. He then came over the radio "All planes, if you are the honorable warriors you are, you will continue to fight your "enemy" in death. Kamikazie!" The planes then listed as destroyed swooped down and around towards the NSR ships and fighters dogging them along, only leaving a margin the computers would register as a hit.
Aztec National League
22-06-2004, 09:25
The Admiral stood in the bridge of the Aztlan. He saw what the pilots were doing. "Kamikazi Aztecs!(?) We are more fierce then I thought." He looked on, knowing this was a extremely dangerous manuver and they were dealing with very expensive techonology, a strong ally of the ANL and most importantly, human life...The Admiral could not let it go on...

"I have played with the idea of letting this continue, which will probably help us win the battle, or stopping this from continuing, the right thing to do. But, right prevails...Tell our boys to stop this at once and just accept the lose and return home. We can't risk a single life."
Neo-Soviet Russia

(Kamikaze and Pyrmanid type manuver. Interesting. More so interesting that more 29s were taken out than 21s.)

Again aircraft scattered like crazy. Tomcats went full afterburner, catching shots though surviving, Hornets followed though a pair were registered as out of commission. Gencors and other Hornets also attempted to move out of the way. In the end atleast eighteen Gencors were registered as dead, nine Hornets, and one of the Tomcats, though they too managed to snipe off some shots. When playing chicken it was but expected. So far nearly fifty of the NSR's aircraft were lost. The aircraft in the air, amounting to less than a squadron of Gencors, nine Tomcats and over two squadrons of Hornets, had survivied after their manuver a number followed after the force which had conducted the pyramid, others high tailing after the strike force.

---

Though as the enemy came more aircraft launched from the carrier Dalske. A flight of four Hornets to be exact, full afterburner, titled their nose a little sharply at the inbounds, firing off missiles, confirming new shots then going again. A few other aircraft were close, mainly Gencors hovering near the water raised up, these birds mainly from the Lawrence before her latest round of hits, though a few Tomcats and Hornets still lacked seeing action dove down sharply from their tracks high above.

---

"Sir, we're getting hits!"

"From what?"

Captain of the Vengence class Fast Missile Cruiser Zeltsev turned his head, glancing out the window. Another Fishbed passed, barily off the deck of his ship.

"Those damned sons of bitches! They dare...bah! Fire all remaining foward missiles at that bastard fleet then sent fire crews! I will not have my ship go down! I don't care if this is a game or not!"

---

Weaving between ships on the tail of a Fulcrum, Zug could see what 'enemy' pilots were doing. Ballsy bastards..got to give it to 'em the man thought as he keyed the trigger of his stick, 'shots' raining out over the end of this Aztec Mig. The pilot didn't let go as his backseater and weapons officer sent off a missile. Closing, the pilot raised up sharply and wiggled his wings playfully for the another man to see before completing a loop and going to intercept a second fighter.

---

Due to the closeness of aircraft ships couldnt actually launch missiles though still lasers shot, simulating close shots. Ships were already starting to pull away from the fleet. First Fleet was cut down to eleven Vengence class cruisers, seven Stalwart class Frigates, twelve Merciless class Cruisers, all ten Brutus class Fast Attack submarines, and the Vulpine class Nuclear Carrier Dalske, which taken 'damage' from a Fulcrum passing close to the tower. Crews were already working on it.

------

Third Fleet was moving towards the ANL fleet, closing distance. The Vengence class cruisers, nineteen of the twenty anyway, began lost in clouds of smoke as each launched off a barrage of twenty five watered down missiles. That wasn't the only thing sent by them, within moments foward turrets of the spread out Vengences aimed at numerous targets then sent off another of 'rounds' from 5 incher rail guns. A portion of Third Fleet's aircraft shot foward. What was left overhead was twelve Gencors, Twenty four hornets, two squadrons of tomcats and four Prowlers, ready to jam what incoming they could

(I have to hit back, you know. Though now I've a question that doesn't pertain to this. Want your opinion. Say my Army haas 64 purly combat divisions...about how many divisions of Logistics, medical, an Engineering/Construction would you think I need?)
Aztec National League
22-06-2004, 10:09
OOC: Yesh, I don't know. If you have 64 combat divisions...You want to make sure you won't be overloaded in case of heavy loses. I would say no less then 44 re-supply/medical/engineering units.

About the Piramide manuver...I have been wanting to use that since I have had jet fighters.

About the 29's taking more loses then the 21's, it is interesting. Let's just say the pilots of the AZ-21s are more experienced and refuse to fly anything else.

With that, I'm going to bed...I'm tired.

(I know I wouldn't want to be overloaded, just not sure what the right number is. I'll consider something around your suggestion.

About the Pyramid...it's creative I'll say, though as I said, playing chicken it'll catch a few losses, plus anyone who can pop up as my fighters were tryin' to do.

Guessing the Fishbed drivers lover their planes..understandable. I've even a thing for that plane.

Also..want to ask: How do you think I'm handling the RPs. Detail and realism wise. Attempting to do as well as possible but figured I'd see what all you think.

With that though, I wish you a pleasant sleep. Tonight's been interesting...productive.)

IC:

The planes flew over the NSR fleet one last time, firing machine guns and dropping the last of their bombs or firing the last of their missiles. At this point, the combat wasn't too intense. Anti-aircraft guns took out four 29's and 7 21's (the 21's had taken damage over the course of the battle, as they were at the front lines.) As the planes finished their last attack, they moved out of range and then circled wide to head back to the carriers for resuppling. They would be vulnerable, but only for a while. Several of the other planes would stay up in the air to provide security.

However, a few planes were kept tied up by the NSR forces. The AZ-29 being followed by Zug, the pilot frantically tried to escape. The little electronic pings were getting on his nerves and even more so, he didn't want to lose. He grabbed the control stick and jamed down hard. The AZ-29's hyrdolics grinded as the hydrolic system had taken heavy damage...Slowly but surely, the 29 moved out of the way of Zug's plane and un-intentionally crossed paths with a NSR missile...In the cockpit, a loud BEEP sounded, signalling the plane had been destroyed.

In the Bridge of the Aztlan...
"SIR! INCOMMING MISSILE BARRAGE!"
The Admiral stood up, "All hands, brace for impact! Damage teams standby!"

The ship registered the impacts. The screens flickered, some turned off.

"Sir, we are loseing power!"

"Fire off our torpedoes and missiles!" The Admiral ordered.

"Torpedoes and missiles away!"

The Admiral looked at the weapons officer, "Tell the other capital ships to fire off their main guns in 5...4...3...2...1..."

Then, a loud Beep reverberated through out the ship...the panels all came back on line, but instead of being at red alert, they were at condition green, normally running operations!

"What the hell just happened?(!)" Yelled out a very frustrated Admiral.

"Sir, I don't know...hull was at 72%, we weren't hit bellow the water line...ahh, I see what happened...we had a partial meltdown."

"WHAT!"

The ANL flagship began to pull away and out of the battlefield.

(I'm thinking maybe, for now atleast, logistics wise to have 32 divisions. I've just to write it all out, calculate everything)

Missile turrets and anti aircraft/missile guns turned, firing off at the retreating threat. Overall though the first strike against the First Fleet seemed over. Cut down a bit the fleet still had an operating Carrier, nine Vengence class cruisers, six Stalwarts, eleven Merciless class Cruisers, and still the ten Brutus class submarines. The 'dead' ships were already withdrawing, aircraft and all. The Deck of the Dalske was already taking in the surviving craft. Deck crews were busy with recovery.

---

Railguns of the Vengence class Fast Missile Cruisers of Third Fleet fired once more in the direction of the ANL Fleet. Another round of missile bombardment was being prepared as well for when the aircraft began to withdrawl.

---

Over the warm water of the Mexican Gulf flew a total of one hundred twenty two aircraft. To be more specific over the dark blue sea were sixty Gencors, forty eight Super Hornets, twelve Prowlers, and a pair of Hawkeyes. Miles ahead of them were the last of the missiles launched from the Vengences.

---

Zeek 'Shrimp' Mathias checked the radar images transmitted via the Hawkeyes then popped his knuckles.

"Just a few miles out boys. Kill safeties and prepare for intercept. Jink and jag, you all know the drills."

A number of awknowledgements were heard over the radio.

The ANL fleet saw the on slaught of enemy aircrafts closing in fast.

Aboard the new ANL flagship, the SAS Lenin (the AT-11 Experimental Super Battleship)

A nervous young admiral stood in the futureistic and sleek bridge of the Lenin, looking at the windows and the sensor readouts. "This could be very bad. We already lost about 11 ships, including the Aztlan, the flagship of the fleet! Well, you heard the Admiral's last orders...fire the main guns in 5...4...3...2...1...FIRE!"

Suddenly, the massive guns think (Mk 7 - 16-inch / 50 caliber guns) on:

1 AT-11 Experimental Super Battleship
(12 guns - 8 forward, 4 aft)
3 Aztlan Class Battleships
(9 guns-6 forward, three aft)
10 Proletariat Heavy Dreadnaughts
(5 guns - 3 forward, 2 aft)

were slowly calibrated and trained on the NSR fleet. The guns stopped moving...The bridge was silent.

"Guns....FIRED SIR!"

As the shells are off to their targets, the Admiral gave off new orders. We walked over to his chair, sat down and said

"Give the NSR planes a suprise...tell the subs to go directly underneath the flight path of the planes and launch their missiles when they are over them...the advantage of non-nuclear weapons, ehh."

"Sir, all of our planes are back on the carriers, we have lost 4 more when they tried to come back. The other planes are being re-fueled and re-supplied, they should be up in the air in about 30 minutes."

"30 minutes, they got 15!" Yelled out the admiral.

The ships moved gracefully through the water. However, the crews were frantic.

"Sir, incomming!"

"What?"

A lound ping sounded, but not the dreaded beep.

"Sir, we have been hit by two missiles, one on the top deck of the starboard side and one on the port. Our armor took the brunt of the impact, minimal hull damage."

"How about the rest of the fleet?"

"Not good sir."

The fleet was hit hard by the missile strikes. Two more frigates were damaged critically. The crews rushed to put out the invisible fires while the engineers repaired engines working at 24% efficency that were not damaged, but merely acting. The rear and one of the middle catapults of two of the Durans were destroyed. leaving only 2 to retrieve and launch planes. Crews immediatly began to work on them. One battle cruiser took 6 missile strikes and the only thing that could hold it together was duct tape. Still, it seemed to be in fighting shape. A heavy cruiser was sinking and a light carrier was ablaze and considered a casualty. The crews were rushing to life boats and as they filled the boats, they got off and went back to their jobs.

Yet the battle raged on.

The ANL Submarines waited under the dark waters, just waiting for the right moment...

"Sir, the missiles are ready for launch."
"Good, how many are there?"
"Well, since these are not nuclear missiles, we can launch a lot more. Each Los Angeles Class can fire 6 while the Typhoon-IIs can fire 10 at a time."

"Good, then let us wait."

The submarines waited in typical submarine fashion. Silent, not moving and out of the scope of ground level or above ground radar. They waited until...

"The planes are over us, sir!"

"Ok, fire missiles, t-2 minutes, at that same time, tell the Los Angeles subs to fire at the enemy subs, we'll fire on the ships."

It was again completely silent. To the point of being errie. The sub capitain watched the sensor screen, watching the incomming red dots above the water and the incomming red dots below.

"Sir, can you tell me how we are able to detect the planes above water?"
"Yes, I shall." The Captian responded. "While we do have a standard sensor system dedicated for below water useage, aside from hydrophones and sonar, we also have a sensor system dedicated to air situations like this one. We borrowed the same system from the Red Air Core's AZ-21 Eagle Warrior. It has just been modified for the water."

"T-1 minute."

"Alright, set the missiles for launch, 1 minute countdown."

The subs sat silently.

"T-30 seconds"

The missiles were fully loaded into the launchers...The torpedo tubes were preped, loaded and readied.

"T-15 seconds."

"Alright," said the captain, "open forward torpedo tubes and ventral missile tubes."

The missile tubes opened up and the torpedo tubes de-presureized and opened up slowly.

"T-10"
"T-9"
"T-8"
"T-7"
"T-6"
"T-5"
"T-4"
"T-3"
"T-2"
"T-1"
"T-0"
"FIRE!"

Suddenly, a barage of missiles shot upwards towards the NSR fleet while the torpedo tubes were emptied as the torps were propeled towards the enemy. The ANL ships launched missiles to supplement the sub's missiles.

First Fleet, having been cut of its ranks, was reorganizing as the 'shells' fell towards them. In but a moment the airwaves and channels were flooded with calls from the ships of First Fleet.

"Admiral, we're getting reports of hits on the Regent, Shiro, Ray, hell..half the ships"

Another crewman turned his hed sharply as the ship reverberated.

"Sir, we're ..we're hit! Hip cats are out, an elevator, two planes registered as gone. Crews are rushing to the hanger to contain any possible fires!"

"Bloody hell..bloody ****ing hell..How many Vengs are left?"

"Eight. five are reporting able to fire parts of their batteries, the others are too busy with damage."

A smirk played up on Mathias's lips.

"Alright. Tell those sons of bitches to fire everything they got!"

"Sir?"

"You heard me, let loose their missiles and make use of those rail guns!"

---

If one werre over the fleet they would've seen men scurrying on and off decks. Another trio of Mercilesses, four Stalwarts, and one of the three 'damaged' Vengences began withdrawing, their damage to great or overall already 'sunk'.

They would've also seen over five hundred doors raise open, under them the heads of missiles. Crews rushed from decks of the Vengences, going underside. Each ship's loud speaker gave a countdown. Within moments another fireworks war seemed to erupt from the ships. A cloud of over five hundred missiles quickly rushed over the air, rushing towards the ANL fleet. A ring of smoke seemed to surround the Dalske, one or two men pausing to look before being pushed back into reality. Turrets of the five Fast Missile Crusiers turned, rail guns adjusting for horizon then paused. 'Rounds' shot forth from the newage cannons reaching out for the ANL fleet.

---

Zeek was near the rear of the armada of aicraft when his eyes caught sight of bubbles atop the water.

"The hell?"

Heads broke through the water.

"Split! Split!"

Aircraft at the rear of the armada split, rolling to the sides our pulling up sharply. A number of missiles dropped back down, sensors in them, along with a few planes going off.

"I think those are going off towards to fleet..."

More missiles raised from the water behind them, then over them. Twisting dials on the radio Zeek gave a cough.

"You got inbound rockets, Sub and Surface."

---

The aircraft dropped to the deck, flying feet off the water. Ahead of them, in sight, was the ANL fleet. Already pilots were locking onto targets then pickling the release button, sending off rounds.

---

"Con, Sonar! We're getting what sounds like missile launches and...high pitch screws. Torps!"

"Hell, lets play. Let them close to a thousand then intercept."

"Roger"

---

As torpedoes charged towards the ten Brutus class submarines a number made use of the short range super cavitating torpedo intercept launchers. A trio made use of the Octuple Vertical Launch Long Range Missile Launchers. Doors opening, pods rushed up, generating enough noise to distract any incoming threats as they raised up to send off three more missiles into the mix.

---

"Sonar, I want you to find out where those bastards are. Weapons, load and flood all twelve. Drop the ship down to five hundred.Speed five knots, Pump jet of course. Hampton says these are damned quiet but I'm not taking any risks."

In the bridge of the SAS Lenin

"Sir, we are detecting that our shells did pretty heavy damage to some of their ships. Wait, sir...holy ----, sir, over 500 missiles, incomming."

The Admiral's face became over taken with an expression of shock and nervousness. "I guess we fire the main guns again. This time have the guns ready in fifteen seconds."

"Sir, that is barely enough time!"
"I said do it."

The countdown began "T-15 seconds"

The tactical officer yelled out "Missiles will be here in 85 seconds. Planes within 35 seconds."

The Admiral sat down and though of an old song by the Doors "This is the end, my only friend, the end."

"Sir, planes ready for launch!"

"LAUNCH THEM NOW DAMN IT!"

"Sir, yes sir!"

The ANL planes lined up on the runway, prepairing to launch. As they waited on the runways, the ANL battleships and dreadnaughts once again fired their massive 16" guns into the air and towards the NSR fleet.

As the shells went away, the planes launched into the air.

"Electronic counter measures online, hopefully some of the missiles will be thrown off. And although the guns did fire, several of the guns are offline and damaged. They'll have to be repaired before they can

---In the submarine SAS Typhoon---

The Sub Captain knew the NSR subs would be looking for them. It was then he came up with a iffy manuver.

"Comm, tell the Los Angeles to move off a mile from their current location. Once they get there, they are too make as much noise as possible. Hopefully, this will distract the NSR subs and they will move off to chase them. The Typhoon-IIs will then follow them and then when they are about to fire on the Los Angeleses, we'll attack them."

The bridge was silent until a young ensign said "Although the Typhoons are silent subs, how do we know the NSR fleet is silent...we can't detect them on hydrophone anymore."

"I guess we will have to wait until the appropriate action can be taken."

---In the ships---

"Sir, missile impacts in 5...4...3...2...1...0"

"All ships reporting damage! The Lenin has had two of the main guns taken out...the battlecruiser Trotsky has taken bad damage on the aft quater of the ship...the carrier Duran has lost all ability to launch or recive aircraft, the planes that were launched will have to land in Veracruz airbase...Fires reported on decks 5,6 and 8 on the battleship Azhutepan, hull breach on deck 4...the Tenochitilan has lost her bridge, the port missile launchers and engines, ships command functions are being routed through the torpedo room...a Veracruz light Carrier completely destroyed and sinking, launched aircrafts being re-directed to Chichen Itza Airbase...The Frigate Manifesto has lost half of her crew and is taking on water."

The Admiral looked up and at the control panel. He then said "The fleet is badly damaged, but not beat. Are the guns ready to fire again?"

"No sir, main guns still offline."

"Well, then, tell all ships to fire all missiles at the NSR fleet. ALL missiles. Make sure they are guided so they will take out some aircraft too."

A siren sounded...teh crew went back into the ship.

"Missiles away, sir. We are firing our machine guns at the planes. The NSR fleet is firing rail gins at us, the ships will take more damage sir, what do we do?"

"Fire more torps at them."

"Second barrage, now!"

Sirens went off over decks of Vengence class cruisers. Within moments another batch of over five hundred missiles left their tubes, leaping into the air then off towards the Aztec fleet. Blessed were two missile VLCs.

---

Alarms and claxons went off within the bridge of one of the surviving Vengence class Crusiers.

"Commander, we've been hit!"

Looking out the bridge, Captain Russel give a quiet growl for a moment.

"Foward 11s and rail guns out. Foward cells hits though luckly birds just left. Aft cells and rear structure hit, one of the radars out."

"Dispatch crews immediatly! Notify me when rear fires are safe enough then turn the ship and let them meet the rails."

---

"Admiral, we've been shots to topside, foward and mid flightdeck. Another shell went more towards mid. We're close to taking water."

Without needing to be said crews were dispatched to the key areas. Flight crew and pilots began fire fighters.

"Admiral, we're getting what looks like either aircraft of missiles coming towards us. Two minutes at most till they meet us."

"Warn all ships, have the Mercilesses go foward, along with Stalwarts."

"Sir..."

"yes?"

"You realize we're down two seven Mercs, five Stals, and already three of the remaining Vengs are withdrawing, right?"

"I realize this."

Nodding, the Admiral thought to himself, Next time make more use of the Vengs[i].

---
Second Fleet

Though having been hit, second fleet was overall still in the fray. Only total losses had been a Vengence, three of the four Arleigh Burkes, a Merciless and a Stalwart.

[i]The joys of being neglected. Forrest Tomlin, commander of Second Fleet gave a smirk.

"How are our Vengences?"

"All reporting ready to fire when need be. The same from the Mercs and Stals."

"Alrighty...we've been sitting this out, watching too much. Here's what I want...three Vengences fire off what they can, wait a few moments then have another trio. Lets do this till all the Vengs have emptied out."

"Roger sir."

The comm officer nodded then went to work.

"Also, have the Stals and Mercs screen ahead of us, say half a mile. Subs spread along another them, others just behind in the gap."

"Sir"

---

"Migs and missiles incoming!"

Fingers quickly switched to air to air missiles for a majority of planes. Radars twitched, aknowledging as they switched locks. Missiles lunged away as others came towards. Slamming sticks hard, flights of aircraft spun and raised hard. Some performed loops, others quick jerks at just the right moment. Others still got the beeps within cockpits. Eleven Hornets had been taken out, along with fifteen Gencors as other aircraft went on to met aircraft and ships.

---
Third Fleet

"Are the Vengences prepared?"

"Yes sir."

"All we've to do is wait then. Hoepfully the boys'll be quick."
---

"Sonar, contact!"

"What is it?"

"Seems like the enemy's having his LAs make a run for it."

"Run for it..no...if they wanted to get anywhere..do anything they'd be smarter than that..Comm!"

"Sir?"

"Tell two Brutes to stay back, us and the other seven'll go after these guys. Pump jets, slow. Five knots tops. All tubes loaded. Have their sonars make use of what they can. Once we're in range, ships one and five will wait then fire their tubes."

Smirking he looked back to his Sonar men.

"We'll be trying out these lovely hull sonars it seems. Gentlemen..."

The captain then glanced as the 'driver' of his boat.

"Ahead five knots. Silent Running."

IC:

The commander of the fleet stood and watched from the bridge...

"Sir, 500 more missiles incomming! We don't have much time before they get here."

"Damn it, I doubt the fleet can take that type of a pounding again."

"Ideas?"

The bridge was dead silent. Too silent...

"Well then." The Admiral stood up and straightened out his uniform, "Tactical, are the main guns back on line yet."

The tactical officer looked at his control panel and says "Well, we have some back on line. Overall, I would say half of them are online."

The Admiral then said "If we are to surivive this barrage, we damn well need to make sure this doesn't happen again...target our main guns towards the second fleet, missiles and torpedoes on the ships where the missiles originated from. We have to take out those missile ships now."

"Aye, sir."

The main guns slowly moved towards the direction of the second fleet. As soon as they were in position, a warning siren sounded...

30 seconds later, the guns fired off their payload towards the second fleet...torpedoes and other missiles are going off towards the missile ships.

"Sir, what about the incomming missiles, they'll be here within a couple of minutes."

"It is obvious we are going to take heavy damage...we might lose it right here. However, there is away to minimize casualties, possibly. (He begins to type on a panel) Order the ships to fall in this formation, the lessed damaged ships towards the rear, more damaged ships towards the front."

"Sir, we don't have enough time..."

"Too late, I already sent the command!" Snapped the Admiral.

As the ships were about to finish reforming...

"IMPACT NOW SIR!"

Almost all the ANL ship's alarms went off.

"DAMAGE REPORT!"

"Not good sir. We (the Lenin) have a hull breach on our port side...just 8 feet away from the water line, main reactor is at 50%, auxillary at 82%...the battle cruiser Trotsky, the heavy cruiser Tenochitilan and the
dreadnaught Mexica are completely wrecked...they might as well be done for. Same for the Light Cruiser Veracruz, the Carrier Duran and the frigate Jalisco. The first fleet has lost two dreadnaughts, then 90th has lost 3...2 of the carriers in the 25th have lost launching and landing capabilities. Damage crews are already working one repairs, but we've taken a bad beating, we might need to surrender."

The Admiral stood up and yelled out "I would never have considered that option. Send the ships that are wrecked and pretty much useless to the front of the fleet and have their crews evacuate to bare minimal levels...the rest of the ships, empty out all weapons on to the enemy ships now. Torps, missiles, rail guns, machine guns...hell, hand pistols too..everything. BOMBARD THEM! AND SEND ALL AIRCRAFTS TOWARDS THE OTHER FLEETS!"

"Yes sir."

In a couple of minutes afterwards, the ANL fleet fired everything they ready. After that, they reloaded and then fired again.
Neo-Soviet Russia

More missiles than anyone could count raced towards the ANL from Second Fleet. Over a thousand, over two thousand automated, fire and forget weapons of war roared as they moved through the air, over the water. Seventeen Vengences were prepping the second missiles of VLCs for launch.

---

"Admiral, we've incoming missiles!"

"Lovely, have the Mercs pull foward, the rest of the fleet pull-"

"Hits reported on Vengs sir!"

Next the ship gave a shudder.

"Sir, we're hit! Decks' been wiped out clean, tower's....tower's...something. Foward under the flight deck's out too, hangar..planes..shit!"

"Dispatch any and all men possible. Damage control immediatly! Comm, have the Mercs pull foward, all others full reverse! All"

---

As the fleet began the manvuer reports continue to come in. Four Merciless, six Stalwarts, five Vengences, and a single Arleigh Burke were useless or sunk. The rest were pulling away, a portion, including the two carriers, attempted to save themselves from the oncoming missiles. The Muscovi, though hit, was still able to use her foward ramp to launch aircraft, with which she did so. Hornets, Tomcats, Hawkeyes, and Prowlers to intercept the incoming missiles. More reports of guns came in, claiming a Stalwart, to that order the Admiral of Third Fleet gave the order for eradic movements. A cannon's aim was only so true, if the target moved after the shell left, it was a good chance they'd live. The Vengences delayed in the follwoing of orders for less than a minute. The fourteen cruisers flung another barrage of missiles ,that would be nothing less than the end of the ANL fleet, before following through with the order. THey still, though, had to worry about the missiles.

---

Though more planes had been lost, another twelve, the others were fighting for their lives over the fleet. Some were staying strictly to air to air combat, holding ANL planes up, while others, whenever they had a chance twisted and dove, guns and rockets going off towards the decks, turrets, and towers of the enemy ships.

OOC: You're in the International?(!) Well, comrade, I guess you might know this, but same here.

IC:

"Sir, we got over a thousand missiles coming towards the fleet."
"Well, what can we do before they get here?"

"We have the useless hulks lined up infront and towards teh middle so they take the brunt of the impact. I have an idea...let's get our ships to spread out over a larger area...we can't cluster them like this."

The Admiral said "Right now, any tactic is good...tell the fleet to do that...once they are in posistion, tell them to empty their weapons out on the NSR fleet again."

"Sir, it appears they are going into eratic manuvers."

"Damn it...a spread..gun units (sets of three 16") one and three go to the left, gun unit 2, fire to the right...starboard torps go the right, port, go to the left...fire all missiles. Fire now."

Another barrage of weapons fire came towards the NSR ships while the NSR barrage came towards the ANL ships...

"Sir, missile impacts in 5...4...3...2...1...0!"

The shielding ships were hit first "Sir, the carrier Duran has virtually lost it's flight deck...All of her aircraft were off of the ship though, the Tenochitilan has several large hull breaches on her starboard side...the Mexica has pretty much lost everything above deck 5...the light carrier Veracruz is virtually off sensors...it was as if it were blown out of the water...the other ships didn't fare that much better. I would say we lost half of the ships on the front line...but much of the missiles consentrated on them...we still have a lot comming at us...in any second now."

The Admiral stood up and said "All damage crew, stand by for massive repair jobs...all non-neccisary crew must report into the lower decks now. All hands, brace for impact."

The Admiral sat down and said "Let's hope we make it through this. Transmit new orders to the submarines. Tell them to knock out the NSR fleet in conjunction with the airplanes. We're pretty much done for. Eratic manuvers....countermeasures on...tell the gunners to try to shoot down some of the missiles."

"Aye sir."

"Too late for the gunners, missiles in 5...4...3...2...1...0"

It was a tense moment that seemed to cast a cloud over the ANL's fleet forever. Loud pings could be heard and the computers started to caculate the damage.

The barrage was done.

"I hate to ask this...but I must know, what's the damage report?"

The damage officer looked at him and said "First, the Lenin...we've taken heavy damage, I'm surprised we haven't been destroyed. Hull integrity at 18%...primary reactor is offline, secondary reactor is operating a 42% efficency...rudder is virtually useless, automatic fire control is fried, we'll have to target everything manually...fires reported on decks 4-9, crew already working to put them out...We only have 3 Aztlans left, all reporting fires on their aft and fore sections...We've lost 5 dreadnaughts, that leaves us with 3 in the 1st fleet. The 90th fleet has lost 2 more dreadnaughts, they still have 5. Carriers are severly damaged, but this time we only lost 5, leaving half of the carriers still active. All fleets combined, we lost all but five Battlecruisers. The heavy cruiser Challenger has lost her aft section, the other heavy cruisers have fared a little bit better then the rest of us. We lost four, though. The all Light cruisers have taken heavy damage...lost 7 of them, still have a few though. Heavy carriers are reporting damage to some parts of the flight deck, still all but 2 are in the fray. Some of our destroyers have done suprisingly well...the Defiant has taken a little damage, but can still fight. The 5 other destroyers have similar reports...the frigates have been pretty much demolished."

The Admiral remained in his chair. His ship and his fleet were broken. He knew the fleet had very little chance of winning using ships only. He then said "Alright, the ships have to fall back big time...take us towards the edge of the battlefield. Have our submarines take one the fleet. Have you transmited the orders yet?"

"Yes sir."

---In the submarine Typhoon---

"Sir, new orders comming from the Admiral. We are to take on the enemy fleet."

"Alright, let's implement what we were going to do...Tell the Los Angeles to keep the NSR subs on their heels, but keep them out of firining range. Alright, get us to the NSR fleet...full stealth mode...abosolutly silent for now on. Water pumps on."

"Aye, sir."

Though technically, they're not silent, simply damned quiet. You just have to know what to look for. Least from the one thing I remember related to pump jet technology. Though also I've to ask, why exactly are you firing torpedoes? I don't believe our fleets are close enough to really implement those.)

Aircraft rose then twisted down, releasing even more hellfire. Rockets, bombs, guns going off, emptying out onto the Aztec ships below. Fighters ignoring Aztec built MiG as they assaulted their targets, the vessels. As they emptied they pulled up and away, kicking in the after burners as they rose up. More had been lost, twenty..thirty..something. They all though had played their role, played chicken with the ships and dropped their loads on the decks. Had it been real war it would've been hell. They would've been dead. They would've been heros.

"Admiral, it seems the enemy fleet's beginning to pull out."

"All of it?"

"Surface wise."

Still leaves the cans..Got some but..cant be all..can it?

"Admiral,"

A comm officer yelled out, pausing for a moment, confirming he had the commanding officer's attention before continuing.

"Birds say they're returning to the nest."

"Excellent, the Vengences ready?"

"Roger"

"You know the word, give it to 'em. We've played too long"

"All Vengences fire. Again, all Vengences fire."

---

The nineteen Vengences, slowed to ten knots. Sirens sounded on decks. Crews had already vacated from outside. Doors opened. Four thousand seven hundred eighty eight to be exact. Meeting the light of day were missiles as they were ejected from their cells. Even if the enemy fleet had been at full force each ship would meet forty or so missiles alone. With the reduced size victory over the floaters was all but there.

---
Second Fleet

Missile met met missile as aircraft shot at the incoming. Still other missiles shot past, missed by the net that was aircraft. At the fleet itself reports began to come in of ships struck. Cannons met six of the Vengences enough to make them simple hulks. Another trio took hits rear and foward, slowing, them and forcing crews to move about for fire damage. five, while damaged, were able to move at full speed. The surviving ships, another mere handfull now, pulled back made their moves more so eradic as they attempted to do one-eighties.

---
First Fleet

Eight of First Fleet's Brutuses were spread wide, all listening, all stalking. The LAs were moving as fast. The Brutuses though were fast as well at thrity seven compared to the American made submersible's thirty two, and they had the second advantage of being able to be quiet while doing it. As they neared, six slowed. Ships one and five moved in closer, each submarine's twelve tubes loaded. Aquiring firing solutions, they fired their fish towards the enemy then loaded quickly, awaiting a need to fire once more.

(I've learned a few things from this...better organization of posts mainly. That and if/when I get in a real war, let the Vengences throw everything they've got before resorting to aircraft. "Damn, there's no chance in hell now...I know this won't work, but alright now, all ships, full speed towards the edges of the battlefield...any ships that lag behind I guess will be cannon fodder."

"Aye, sir."

"And tell the subs, they are authorized to conduct the rest of this battle, and use any mean nessicary except for ramming and intentional meltdowns."

The missiles came after the ANL fleet. As teh barrage cam closer the Admiral stood up and straightened out his black Soviet Uniform again. He looked in the main screen and saw the missiles coming towads them.

"You think we still have a chance with the subs?" Asked the Admiral, in a cool and content voice.

"I doubt it, but we never know." Spoke his second officer.

"History tends to favor the bold." The Admiral looked on.

"Sometimes, but oten times, the bold lose." The second officer retorted.

"At least this was a war games scenario, if this were a real war, the ANL would propbably be in an economic resession so severe, the government would most deffinetly fall." Said the Admiral.

"The only thing the ANL got is a bruised ego now. We'll beat them, next war games scenario is on land, and land wars are our forté."

"Sir, missile impacts soon."

"Alright, tehn. Activate anti-missile systems foir the last time. Guns, missiles, anything. This is like shooting a bullet with a bullet, we gotta make every shot count."

"Aye, sir."

With that, several machine guns and missiles were fired to intersept the missiles.

--In the subs--

OOC note: Understood about the thing not being silent, but very quiet. Of course, There might be a way to still help me.

IC:

"Sir, although the Typhoons are stealth, it anit perfect, they can still hear us."

"What do you mean?" Asked the captain.

"Well sir, being the sensor officer, I there is a way to dectect water pumps...each class of vessel has it's own sound frequency, I know the Typhoons have a distinct but almost inaudiable sound."

"How about the enemies? Can you hear those?"

"I think I might be able to hear them...But, hell, sir, I don't even know what class they are."

"Then we have to do the next best thing. Alright, slow down, 1/4 speed. Then go down to 400 ft (if this is too deep/shallow, I'll edit it), ask the fleet and the LAs if they can make noise to drown out our engines."

"Aye sir."

(The LAs are already being fired apon. They've 24 torpedoes coming at them. Wasn't too detailed but..yub. Also, next time I'm in a naval conflict I wont make the mistake of letting my Vengences sit back..hehehe. You are a good opponent, I must say.Ive learned a few things..also know a few things I'll have to do to tweak my fleet.)

OOC: Well in that case...

In the Los Angeles Class sub Iztapia

"Sir, we have 24 torps comming right for us. The launching subs can not be detected..."

The Captian thought for a sec and said "This is what we will do." Said the captian. "Fire counter-measures now, make sure they are generting enough noise and profile to attract the torps away from us. Then, halt our engines immediatly and go down to 450 ft. After the torps detonate over us and the enemy subs pass over us, we will rise up and attack them from the rear. Counter-measures ready?"

"Yes sir." Said his tactical officer.

"Then fire them."

"Countermeasures away."

The captain waited 5 seconds..."Alright, engineering, cut engines, helm, take us down."

"Aye sir."

"Sir, missile impacts in 5, 4, 3, 2, 1, 0."

Suddenly, several loud beeps rung out through all the ships. To the crew, it was a dreadfull sound. One by one, several ships powered down and were setting course to the edge of the sector. The other ships continued to take a pounding. Almost all the ANL ships were defeated by this on-slaught of missiles.

Aboard the Lenin:

"Sir, the ships a sinking hulk of flames, engines are at 15% effeincy, power is at 50%, in fact, we are operating on auxilerly power, sensors are operating at a reduced range..." spoke the Ops officer.

"Just give me the jist of the situation." Said the admiral, he hated to hear damage reports.

"Frankly, sir, we're screwed, the ship is sinking and the main deck is ablaze."

"Get fire crews to the deck now! Tell them to put out those fires. Also, try to seal the areas of hull that are letting in water."

"Sir, I don't know if I can, several 2 of the holes are about 15-25 ft in diameter, and then there is one on our stern that is 50 ft. Fire crews are responding, but water pressure is low, with reduced power, the pumps are operating..."

"Do what you need to do, cut the power to weapons, engines and computers and divert it to the pumps on my mark. Tactical, can you fire any more salvos to the enemy?"

"Although the sensors are damaged, I can fire a little."

"Fire everythinhg you got."

The tactical officer fired off 40 missiles and 6 torpedoes. Meanwhile, the aft main guns were trained on the other fleet and fired off 4 more 16 in. bullets towards the "enemy".

The Admiral sighed, "Alright, cut power to the systems, once the fires are out, sound the alarm to abandon ship. How long do we have?"

The ops officer looked on his screen "About 45 minutes before she sinks. Hell, even with this much damage, she still a marvel."

"What? 45 minutes, put weapons back on-line, once they are ready, fire everything, absolutly everything." The Admiral sounded more confident and was proud of his ship.

He then asked "Alright, what ships are still active?"

The First officer looked at a screen "We have five ships. The heavy cruiser Challenger, the dreadnaught Tamuzin, the assult cruiser Quetzal, a Duran Class Carrier and a Veracruz Class light carrier, plus the submarines"

The Admiral stood up "Ok, tell out ships to go to maximum speed and scatter about then fire at the NSR fleet. Tell tem not to focus on main arterilery but rather missiles and torpedoes. Also, all ships must be vigilant on anti-missile, anti-aircraft patrol and must be on eratic manuvers."

"Roger that, sir, the order has been dispatched."

With that, the 5 ships moved to maximum speed and trained their weapons on the NSR fleet.

"Fire!"

With that, 100 missiles, 37 torpedoes and 15 arterily shells all began to make their way to the NSR fleet.
