In a move to solidify the security of the nation, Tyrandis has purchased the Laccadive Islands from India for a total of $15 bn USD and some concessions to the Indian government.

After an analysis conducted by a Senate committee, the Laccadives were determined to be an especially critical area in the Indian Ocean.

Therefore, the Triumviate negotiated with the Indian government for their purchase. After several months, an ironclad deal was worked out.

The plan was ratified 499-0, with one member of Congress abstaining due to illness.

The Laccadives have no known indigeneous peoples.

The first wave of Tyrandis military forces have hit the beaches. As we speak, Chinook transport helicopters are dropping armor on the makeshift beachhead.

Bearing the flags of Tyrandis, two divisions of infantry and a diplomatic attache have just entered the main island of the Laccadives.

In about two weeks, an engineering corps is expected to arrive.

OOC: Planning on just expanding my nation, as well as a frontier base against possible attacks from Asia, but w/e. I'll pay.

Engineering corps have begun work on naval and airbases, and the 2nd Fleet is providing security for the contractors.
