When your passed 100 milion citizens, you can buy one I think, doesn't matter much though since most large country's have defences against these kind of missles.
Like I do, orbital weapon platform with high intensity lasers to take out about just about anything thats launched against our country.
The only reason I want Pinal,Maricopa, Linn, and Jones are because I have a lot of history there
I have a Ramilies class Station above my country. Its heavily armored and armed to the teeth.

There are several other iterations of that thread, by different authors.
You might wish to contact California and Alaska- just to get started- and humbly ask permission.
I think Menelmacar owns a lot of the US as well.
So does New York and New jersey.
Any one of those countries could wipe you out without even noticing the effort. I'm pretty sure any one of those countries has more people in the military than you have in your whole country.
If you can't find any unclaimed land, I suggest that you either:
A- Invent an island continent somewhere and make that your nation,
B- Go for a specific tech level or similar restriction that places you in a different universe,
or
C- (Always the correct answer) Some combination of the two.
