Why do they seem to be so popular here?
Is it me is this the only way people rp in International?
What ever happened to alliance forming, or economic assistance, or humanitarian relief rps?
Surely we can come with something besides war after war after war.

there are very few all out wars, most of it is noobs, ignore fest, military stat squabbles, etc. watch the east vs west battle of titans, that is going to be a fun one.

OOC: I might just start a thread of my own it'd either be:

A. We invade North Africa.
B. Terrorists attack Rose.
C. Terrorists attack Rose and they are North Africans. We attack North Africa and make part of our Commonwealth.

C has more results.

Roycelandia tends to avoid "Numberwanking" Wars... you'll find most of our Wars tend to be fought on a small scale, with propaganda and espionage playing key parts.

Even so, most people aren't interested in anything more than "I send 100,000 Robo-Soldiers to your Nation" "Yeah? Well, I send 200,000 Robo-soldiers to fight you!" etc.

There are rewarding Wars out there... the Gabonaise War is probably one of the best I've been involved in, but it's being concluded now as the Nations involved sort out the Peace Treaty. Keep an eye on the forums, and you'll find the good RPers. Feel free to Lurk, and watch what happens.

Not all wars are about Nuclear Weapons and massive armies...

I took SD with 2,500 soldiers who didnt fire a shot. Thats an almost one billion nation.
Of course, I had a few 250gt nukes in orbit, but those dont count

But yeah, number-wars tend to end as ignore-wars, no matter HOW good the RPers. Occupation is a differnt matter.
You only send enough soldiers to fight the war, but afterwords you may need those extra million men to keep the peasants down where they belong.
Inbred hicks that they are.

A lot of wars end up as ignore wars, I've only been in a few real wars, and I'm pritty old.

The HLF war 1
The HLF war 2
The Nuevo Kowloon incident
The Phyrric war
The SLOA civil war
The Lorkhan Despute
The War of succention
The 5th world war

That's another problem. No one ever rps the occupation necessary to sedate resentment from the defeated nations.

Because if you do, you end up with some n00b magically arming the entire population, acquiring Nuclear Weapons and Jetfighters, and then it's a numberwanking fest again...

And a difficult. But it was a good one.
Though we didn't get to do much of an reconstruction rp for that one. My work schedule kept me away from the comput.
You did a pretty good job on that one. What ever happened to Al Anbar anyway?

He was deleted for inactivity. He can always revive if he wishes to

Hi, Newbie here.

I don't bother rp'ing wars. Partially because I see Andolai as a peaceful nation (with a heavily armed populace...I picked the "citizens are required to own guns" option when the issue came up), partially because it doesn't greatly interest me, and partially because I'd be utterly squashed.

On the other hand, I'm having a great time with my diplomacy thread, and with the diplomatic conflilct between myself and Layarteb over drugs. So much more intriguing than "OMG!!!11111 I N00K UR BASEZ!!!!!!!!!111111111111"

I never ignored you, just left the scene is all, lol (but seriously, that war just ended as far as I knew after I left)

That happens to me a lot. I get in a good rp then I have to leave it.
Cause of OOC reasons. But I think I fixed it with the DT thread. I just gave 5 million of my troops to DT to control. Since I might not be able to get back on when something major happens.

This is why I've really been enjoying RPing with Macisikan. Our last four or five RPs have been political, legal and diplomatic RPs. Nothing like an RP where what neither nation actually knows about the other comes into play, ie our numerous diplomatic bungles.

Argh. I may be a noob, but I don't see the damned point of the massive scale wars. Why not geurilla conflicts? It takes no RPing skill to say "i kick ur a$$ with my 1000000's of robot dudes!!!!!1 lolz". I would just like to know how to start up a geurilla war. Please, don't flame. u.u;

I do think that the most serious problem with RP like this is that no one desires to take losses. Everyone will post massive deployments, but god forbid a single person should get killed. I, personally, have no problem in sinking a battleship of mine or killing a few thousand people on the line, but rarely have I seen the RP become reciprocal. It is just a fantasy RP, not like people actually die, so why not admit to losses? This single issue will result in more IGNORES than any other reason I have noticed.
