Tisrin invites all!
Today Tisrin, a new monarchy, has been formed. The current Queen is Paula Dionai, and she invites one and all to a ball to celebrate the arrival of Tisrin on the world stage.

The High King scrolled through the messages forwarded to him through the Diplomatic Service.
He was bored, like always. The High Kings of his nation, like the High Kings of Old Weyr, had nothing to do. The democratically elected High Council, and the Regional Councils, held all the power, and did all the work.
“This looks interesting,” he thought, opening the file. “A new nation . . .”

OOC: Modern. I don't really want elves, dwarves, etc. or magic powers. Hopefully this shouldn't matter much. It is, though, an absolute monarchy, like the ones of old, but with cars, etc.
IC:
An aide bowed low in the throne room. "Your Majesty, a message from High King Armand li'Star of Ashkeloh IX."
Queen Paula I read it. "Ah, good." She called for her wardrobe servant. "Annabelle, please make sure my dress is ready for this occasion."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
"Human worm! Your stability disgusts us!" cries Xaxotox, a representative of the Daelkyr, Xoriat's rulers. "We, the Daelkyr, shall attend this ball to witness the amusing milling of hominid vermin!"
Then, the Daelkyr, with a repulsive, squid-like writing animal, pens a similarly-worded letter on a scroll of dried human skin and sends it on its way, carried by a dog-sized flying slug studded with human eyes.
Queen Paula I recieved the announcement. She called to the captain of the guards. "Tighten up security at the ball."
"Yes, Your Majesty."
