"My brothers in arms, my fellow humans. Chellians, Lodossians, and peoples of all the world. Chellis, my great nation, was founded on the ideals that national sovereignty is one of the most important things in world. On the very first day of existance, we had to fight north korean bombers trying to take down our civilian transports. We had a civil war to Rid ourselfs of the evil oligarchy. We went through a communist upheval that we were only barely able to quell." President raslin proclaimed. And he went on.

"Chellis helped defend Amerigo from the international community, for things it did only in its own country. We have long fought for similar ideals, the ideas that a nation should be in its own rules, and should not be forced to follow the norm of other nations, when they clearly are different nations.

I will now stop talking of my predesecors achievements, and will look at the world today. What is the world today? Chellis recently observed the nation of Tyrandis, for example. It attacked Algeria under the guise that it had citizens that made terrorist attacks on its nation, with no real negotiations taking place.

More recently, it attacked the nation of Greece and Cyprus, along with other nations, because the nation was trying to get the jewish peoples out of its nation. Chellis recently defended the nation of Generic Empire, as it was rooting out insurgents in a region of its nation, and the community did not like it.

National sovereignty has been crushed under the boot of the new empires of the world. It is now only a word, when a Might makes Right policy runs through near every nation in the world. Nations are not allowed to run their own countries, unless it complies with the wishes of the international community. Largely, these wishes are run by religious morals and personal gain of the larger nations.

Chellis finds this absolutly disgusting. Chellis has never had to endure an invasion of its nation, but realizes the strife these nations must go through. Let it be known that this is illegal. This is wrong. This is a practice that is the equivilent of killing someone for a suicide attempt.

Let it be known that chellis will side with a nations sovereignty over a coalitions morals. Let it be known that chellis sides with these downtroden nations who only want to be left alone to purify their nations. Let it be known that chellis has enacted the Horatio Doctrine, which allows it to intervene in any nation who's sovereignty is unjustly threatened. Chellis will not accept this practice, and will eventually stop it, one way, or another."Raslin finished, putting his hands on a podium. The international press, as well as chellian press groups, stood in the room now, trying to ask the president their questions.

"What if the attacking nation is more powerful then Chellis," asked Donald Freedman of CWNS.

The famously excitable and opinionated political commentator Punnunanngan Ro, of the Invincible Dominion of the Heavenly Dragon, is outraged. On his international political television show, the Ro Factor, Ro shouts:
"How can Raslin say these things, eh? How can he! The international community is doing it's best to make the world better, and I don't think he respects that! The nations he is defending are doing horrible, horrible things, and whether or not they are confined to a single nation has nothing to do with it!"

Speaking in english, Tatyana Kapenski of RTN asks, "What if the nation is routinely purging its citizens because of their religous beliefs? What if that nation enslaves people just because they spoke out agianst their goverment? And-most importantly-what if that goverment has supplied Terrorists with... say the most high tech suitcase nuke on the planet?"

Korzambangechsturnz, one of the mysterious, armor-encased, very short inhabitants of Szahrnevarbenarch, comes to the fore of the crowd and says, in a slow, clear voice to overcome his Szahrnevarbenarchi accent:
"Do you mean to say that you would support the right of another nation to attack your own nation, as long as it was acting of its own accord, and not that of mass political opinion?"

Also, dissenters are bad to the state in certain nations, and should be taken out. The third, however, is something that pertains to other nations, and that does not effect national sovereignty. When it starts to do international things, it is quite a different thing. When it effects people that you have no right to effect, its wrong. Xalykroth, one of the Daelkyr overlords of Xoriat, giggles insanely and fiddles with the mutated symbionts on his arm, saying:
"So your nation condones our, and by our I mean the Daelkyr's, practice of converting humans into pseudonatural tentacle-monsters and removing their brains for our illithid servants to devour?"

Xalykroth, one of the Daelkyr overlords of Xoriat, giggles insanely and fiddles with the mutated symbionts on his arm, saying:

Certain members of that group manage to gain political asylum in another land, despite being considered criminals by their native country. The oppressive government threatens war unless their 'criminals' are returned. Who is in the right in cases of disputed asylum? Whose sovereignity is being threatened?"

Xalykroth the Daelkyr's eyes glow bright violet and his long black hair becomes green flames.
"How dare you ignore one of the Daelkyr! We are the true beings! You are nothing but a human worm! I spit upon your centrism, spineless son of a lake of vomit!"
With that, Xalykroth becomes a mass of blood-red fireflies and zooms out of the room.

Directory Member Un, again. "This is a complicated situation. Neither nation is right or wrong in this case. Every nation decides its own rules on political asylum, but must accept the consequences involved with their choice. This is sad, but usually the stronger nation will prevail in situations such as this. Next"

"Are you not saying sir, that you would ignore the cries of a nations people in utter distress? Would you allow a military coup to succeed and eliminate it's opposition, even if that opposition is a majority? Would you allow slave nations to violate the inherent rights of sentient beings day after day? Are you not saying sir, that you are, in fact, putting your tail between your legs, and saying to the iternational community, 'we won't come after you, please don't hurt us?'"

Howards sat down, obviously angered.

"Nikolai Videnski, Macisikani National Broadcasting Commission," he identifies himself.
"Sir, I would seek to clarify your stance; are you saying that committing crimes against humanity, for example the genocide of a random ethnic minority, is perfectly OK, as long as you don't attempt to take this program across your borders?"

Daniel Howards, of Fyreheartian News Now, stood up and spoke in a stern tone.

"Are you not saying sir, that you would ignore the cries of a nations people in utter distress? Would you allow a military coup to succeed and eliminate it's opposition, even if that opposition is a majority? President Raslin, after a slight chuckle at the last remark, replied."Mr...Howards. First off, these 'inherent rights' are exactly my point. Who are you to say what inherent rights are? Who is anybody? Your religion may think that slavery is right. Chellis doesn't practice it, but doesn't feel its inherently wrong. If the government of a nation asked another nation to help it, that would not be against a nations sovereignty. You worded your question to make any answer that isnt in your opinion sound bad, but I do not worry. I know my words are truthful. Next?"

Directory Member Deux stood up, and answered his question."Who determines what crimes against humanity are? The large, strong nations of the world? What one calls crime, another may call religious, or otherwise, purification. And they could be completely right. They have no right to impose their beliefs on anyone else, nor does anyone else have the right to impose their beliefs on them. Is this not completely fair? Next..."

Nikolai frowns, seemingly puzzled.
"Sir, I am not sure that we understand each other completely. Those who have the power to right a wrong, and do nothing, are guilty of a crime as terrible as those who commit the wrong; it may be said that they are guilty of a worse crime, for they know that it is wrong, and have the power to stop it, and they do nothing. Is your stance that you will do nothing, even if what is done is wrong by your own standards and values?"

Nikolai frowns, seemingly puzzled.
"Sir, I am not sure that we understand each other completely. Those who have the power to right a wrong, and do nothing, are guilty of a crime as terrible as those who commit the wrong; it may be said that they are guilty of a worse crime, for they know that it is wrong, and have the power to stop it, and they do nothing. The directory member deux, surprised and a bit angry that there was a follow up question, stood up again. "No. Our stance is that we do not know what is wrong. For all I know, eating could be against gods will. If another nation eats, should Chellis invade it and force all its citizens not to eat? If no one knows, they should merely go their own path, and see if they are correct in the end. For all you know, the nation who 'saved' the other nation could end up damning it to hell.Next, please."

"I see. You have the power to intervene to save people's lives, and will not... I have no doubt that this will count against you when your time comes. Would any of you have any objections if my countrymen prayed for the salvation of your immortal souls?"

With that he stands and leaves the room.

Howards just couldn't take it anymore. He stood up, and interrupted the person who was speaking.
