Corrheian presidential announcement

Good day, citizens.

Today, as the President of Corrheia and the Secretary-General of the Corrheian Communist Party, I announce the beginning of a new war. A war not on a nation, but on a vice.

Today, after the death of my dear niece Linda of a drug overdose, I am forced to announce a renewal of the War on Drugs. Previously we had light sentences for this vice - five years at the rehabilitation colonies for a user, ten for a dealer.

Not any more. From now one, it shall be ten years at the colonies for a use, and DEATH for a dealer.

Moreover, two billion dollars shall be designated for the purchase of weapons and equipment for our drug-fighting police.

The legalisation movement shall be prohibited. It's leaders are under arrest as I speak.

Good night, citizens. Let God Bless Corrheia.

The Allanean Government wishes to condemn the actions of the Government of the People's Republic of Corrheia.

We demand that you cease persecuting the peaceful drug users of you nations immediately.

Doujin supports such the moves that Corrheia has made. Drug dealers are essentially issueing death sentences to their users. Drug use spreads many deadly diseases, is a drain on income, and can bring children into a dangerous environment.

If war breaks out (which, hopefully, it won't), you are formally invited to host peace negotiations in our (neutral) country. We will be unceasing in the search for peace.

Allanea will not restrict the national sovereignty of Corrheia.

In Allanea, all drugs are legal.

We sustituted prohibition with freedom and receieved nothing but positive results.

Fuirthermore, we have the right (and will use it) to restrict trade with Corrheia.

For now, we will set import tariffs on Corrheian goods at 50%.
Muktar

Muktar is extremely liberal when it comes to drugs (and other things), so we are highly opposed to such violence. We are opening our arms to any refugees coming from the opressive state. Keep in mind sixteen is the legal adult age in Muktar.

The People's Republic of Corrheia has no wish to revert to the decadent ways of the likes of Muktar and Allanea.

We will export no goods to Allanea - thus Allanea's tariffs are not an issue to us

"Fools..." said King Priam. "Do they not realize that drugs can be used as a distraction. A way to control the masses?"

"I suppose not, my King," Peleus said, bowing. "What do you suggest we do over this, if we are to do anything at all? Their affairs do not concern us."

"They certainly do not, dear Peleus; however, I see a great advantage now that drugs have been illegalized in Corrheia we can profit greatly from supplying their dealers with the narcotics. However, we cannot deliver this statement publicly. Tell them that we intend to aid them with their 'War on Drugs' and that we are willing to send SWAT teams to Corrheia to assisst in their war on drugs."

"Aye."

---

The Imperial Kingdom of Troy supports Corrheia's efforts to eradicate drug use from its sovereign borders and thus the Imperial Kingdom is willing to send seventeen of our finest SWAT teams to aid in your war. We eagerly await a response.

Regards,
Ambassador Peleus

The General Secretary smiles. "More people aiding me to wreak justice upon those pushers... and to avenge my dear niece".

We will gladly accept your aid.

The People's Republic applauds these efforts to restrict the evil practises of the drug lords, whose only wish is to sell misery and suffering to the impressionable youth. In Shildonia, we have found that sinking vessels suspected of carrying illegal goods using aircraft to be a most effective deterrent, which caused the street price of cannabis to almost triple within a week of the implementation of the policy, dramaticly reducing the rate of use.
If you wish, we could lease or sell a number of Nimrod Maratime Reconnaisance Aircraft to you to assist in coordinating such strikes.

We would be greatly thankful if you do so. What further information can you provide us about those aircraft?

"We have seen your situation and see an opportunity for both of our governments to prosper from this affair. Some of the details might be somewhat distasteful to you, but I believe that if we can come to an agreement, it will benefit both our nations greatly and lead to closer ties between our two socialist nations. In exchange for legalizing marijuana -and perhaps cocaine if it is acceptable- we would be willing to sell large quantities of the substances at cheap prices and in high quality. With such an advantage over the competition, certainly the government would have no problem driving the illegal drug dealers out of business. If this trade deal is accepted, we would also be willing to provide four regiments of our elite Red Palace Guards -some of the world's top urban fighters and military police forces- to help you root out the dealers of heavier narcotics. If this deal is accepted, both of our governments will have gained economically, and your drug problem would be quickly solved. I urge you to consider this proposal."

"After much deliberation, we decided to legalize marijuana - which is, after all, pretty harmless - this in order to better subsidize our effort to pau for the truly hamful stuff"
