The Empire of Layarteb has much experience in the field of reconstruction, especially that in the way of cities and militaries. Depending on what contracts were necessary would be the price.

Pick the Hamptonshire Defense Corporation. As you can see (http://s4.invisionfree.com/The_Unforgiven_Board/index.php?showtopic=369) we have the experience you are looking for from a friend you trust.

As for our advisor candidate:

Field Marshal Otto von Gersten (http://img37.photobucket.com/albums/v114/hamptonshire/039w.jpg)

You may remember him from the Rebellion in New Hamptonshire where the Field Marshal successfully directed a four nation coalition in rural, suburban, and urban fighting. If you want more info, please specify and we will supply what information we can.

The People's Republic of Kay Son would like to formally chart the Hamptonshire Defense Corporation as the candidate to help the reconstruction of the Ellington Military District as well as Field Marshal Otto von Gersten as the man in charge of it. Please send your candidate right away due to the immense need of the District being reconstructed. An escourt will be waiting at the Ellington Military Airfield.

As for the ruined metropolis of Sladerdon, the PRKS has chosen Layarteb as it's candidate for reconstruction. Much of what is left of Sladerdon are the housing projects and civil service headquarters with the rest in general ruin. The general contract is mainly to help re-build the general infrastructure of Sladerdon to it's former capacity as a city as well as erecting defensive qualities if a terrorist strike ever happens. Please annoint a full candidate to help with this reconstruction in order to confirm you want this deal.

Field Marshal von Gersten has boarded a supersonic transport plane and is currently enroute to Ellington Military Field. The Hamptonshire Defense Corporation is ready to begin rebuilding operations immediately. Just inform us what you want done, how you want it done, where you want it done, and how long you want it done for. The HDC is here to please.

Please contact the HDC here (http://s4.invisionfree.com/The_Unforgiven_Board/index.php?showtopic=369) so we may begin negotiations at once.

The Empire of Layarteb will send some diplomats and delegates via Learjet to oversee and give initial estimates to the details of the project. We certainly will accept the contract and will do our best to get you the most for your buck.

OOC: Do you want me to create building projects or will you further specify?
Kay Son
13-06-2004, 21:55
OOC: It's mainly civil infastructure- residential, commercial, and industrial areas within the city. The contract itself is to rebuilt about 78% of the entire city so that it is functioning again as a city as well as possessing defensive qualities as well. The newly created Sladerdon District Guards will be helping you with your work.

The Learjet pulled into the skies with its escorts, a flight of two F-15C Eagles, loaded heavy with fuel and ordinance. Recent warnings from the intelligence community of Layarteb told of unknown hostile enemies planning to assassinate diplomats and delegates traveling abroad. These weren't out of Kay Son, in fact the origins were unknown but why risk it?

When the Learjet landed, the Kay Son welcoming party ushered the delegates and their Force Victor bodyguards to their hotel. In the morning, the delegate would assess the situation.

His assessment came as the sun set the next morning. He cited severe problems to the infastructure, the residential, commerical, and industrial sectors, and most of the city's defenses. Easily this was going to be an expensive project and he knew it. He would use the Sladerdon District Guards to cut some of the costs but it was definitely going to cost no less than $2.57T with materials, supplies, labor, and designing. That was only a rough estimate and he would have to make a better one as the costs of the materials and the labor became more readily available.

He would ask the diplomats from Kay Son if they had any prisoners or such that would be able to be used to cut some of the labor costs. Additionally, the EOL would use prisoners to assist in the construction but they still had to be flown over, housed, etc.

The representative from the Ministry of the Interior asks the Layarteb if the price could be notched down, given the subtraction of the residential areas, and focusing on the industrial/commerical/infrastructure areas. The representative also informs the Layarteb that there are 'volunteers' from the Ministry of Justice that would welcome such oppertunities and that they number about 400. (Housed of course by the Ministry of the Interior and 'watched' by the Chiang Lo District Guard Division)

The delegate looked over the sheet and nodded. "This is good. With the subtractions and the labor we can do it for $1.85T." He sent the new proposal back and waited on the reply.

If there are about 200 more volunteers and the 7th District Guard Divison to aid you, how much will the price be?

the representative from the Ministry of Interior:

$1.80T. The biggest cost will be the massive amount of raw materials used for all of this.
Kay Son
15-06-2004, 03:46
an added 200 group?
Layarteb
15-06-2004, 05:34
So how many volunteers are you providing? I've accounted for a good deal of the population of the city as helping to rebuild themselves.
Kay Son
15-06-2004, 20:24
Well- figure about 7-8 hundred prisoners & "volunteers" from the war in helping the construction, the Sladerdon District Guards, the civilians of the city-

about 5k.
Layarteb
16-06-2004, 08:02
5,000 plus we will provide about 2,500 - 17,650 ourselves. With all of this, we can do the job for $1.56T. Raw materials are still going to be a major pain in the neck. Shipping them over alone is going to suck. So with that in mind, do we have access to rail stations, truck stations, an airport, and a seaport?
Kay Son
16-06-2004, 08:06
You have access to the Fort Smith Military Airfield, the newly constructed Sladerdon Memorial Railroad, the Norwesfort Highway, and the Maylun sea-port. The truck stops will be provided by the military, as well as the transportation itself. Will that still be in the same number as before?
Layarteb
16-06-2004, 08:08
It'll make it cost $1.55T :). The more ways to ship the stuff, the better.
Kay Son
16-06-2004, 09:39
How about all transport managed by the Republican Air Force and the Republican Navy? How much lower?
Layarteb
16-06-2004, 18:57
That would raise the price. The raw materials are coming from imports from Layarteb, the cheapest way to go.
Kay Son
17-06-2004, 04:31
Is there any other possible way into lower the price down to the billions?
Layarteb
17-06-2004, 04:51
We're talking about the reconstruction of a city here. Infrastructure alone is massive, pipes, electric, water, rail, road, not to mention buildings and such. Plus the cost of procuring the raw materials and shipping them.
Kay Son
17-06-2004, 08:49
So 1.55T is the lowest you can go?
Layarteb
17-06-2004, 10:02

OOC: Sorry for the absence.

After years of work, Layartebian contractors and workers took a single day off, their only one in ages. They had just finished the last piece of road, the final necessity of their infrastructure project. Water now flowed through brand new pipes, electricity through brand new wires, and cars could drive on brand new roads, freshly paved and painted. The railways were one of the first constructed and they were still in mint condition, trains being used to ferry supplies from the airports and seaports.

Their next project would be working on the zones. Industrial would be first, followed by residential, and then commercial. Architects had been working for months on planning and surveying. Everything was going to be fresh, new, and efficient.

The Layartebian Construction Corps are now shifting focus onto industrial and residential construction. Work has been slowing due to weather, which has been nothing but rain and thunderstorms. Work should resume at full pace once the cell has left the area. Reports of tornado watches yielded nothing though we are very cautious.

Although the hour is late, and Kay Son seems to be almost completely finished rebuilding, East Islandia would like to offer the aid of several construction companies, companies specializing in high-strength composite materials in building applications. Or, if civilian infrastructure is completely rebuilt, we will offer the aid of our military in training Kay Son's armed forces, if any such help is needed.
