At 1:00 PM today, a motorcaid carrying our beloved Kaiser Otto Petinski XII was attacked by a group of terrorists. The intial foray did not kill the Kaiser, as his armored vehicle drove away. However, 2 blocks away, a mine that had apparently been planted exploded as the vehicle drove over it. The Emperor was killed instantly.

Kaiser Otto Petinski XII had only attained the throne last week, and was only 22 years old. He had no children, and, as far as Imperial Records go, has no valid successor. The closest would be the Monarchs of Atweena and the Monarch of McLeod03. However, many of the states in the Empire refused to recognize either of these monarchs as plausible leaders of the Attican state, and have left the Empire. The Empire is falling apart, and a civil war might erupt soon to determine who the future rulers of the Empire will be. By odd luck, the Attican Reichswehr will not play any active role, as every soldier swore an oath to fight for the keeper of the Imperial Seal and that person only, and, so far, there have been no desertions. The military has pulled back to the state of Attisca, however, to guard the Imperial Seal for any would-be throne squatters. No steward will be assigned, as that is not imperial custom.

Is there any DNA from the Kaiser Otto, could you somehow create sperm cells and create another leader?

Kahta is deploying 5 special forces divisions.

News:

Hans Otross, the Prince of Obnama, has declared himself the Steward of the Throne of Attica, violating several Attican laws. He has declared his intention to invade the Imperial Lands of Attisca, and take the seal for himself. It is unknown what the reponse of Addison and Zetrossen will be. There are over 2000 nuclear weapons present in the lands currently controlled by Obnama, and this presents a clear and dangerous threat to the administration in Attisca. Generalfeldmarschall Heinrich Kuklinski (Very distant relative the Kaiser, not enough to be declared anything) has declared a state of national emergency. The 3 million troops of the Reichswehr have been ordered to set up a state of Martial law in every state still loyal to the Throne, and Troops have been set up in defensive positions. The Luftwaffe is still not prepared, but is being ready. Special Forces units of the Kaiserheer might be called up to retake ships of the Kriegsmarine that were present in the rebel territories if necessary.

In response to Obnama's declaration of ownership of the throne, Addison has invaded Zenterstadt. The Obnaman armies were cought off guard, and have retreated to a defensive position in the province of Sturmstadt. Meanwhile, a small detachment of Addisonian troops attempted to invade Westattiska, but were easily repelled by vastly superior Reichswehr troops. Zetrossen so far has remained neutral.

Cloning? Wouldn't that just create a genetically identical copy? It's the raising of the child and the experiences that count, and there will be NO guarentees that the leader will be the same by the top it grows up.

Kahta is staying out of these conflicts, we are only interested in preserving the recognized government. If our forces are attacked however, war will be declared.

Meanwhile;

Working later hours than usual, royal bloodline experts believe they might have found an older line that could qualify as royalty in the Empire. More research is needed, but if it turns out to be true, the Empire could be rebuilt.

Addisonian troops continue their advance. Sturmstadt has fallen, with heavy casualties on both sides. Obnama and Brelin, both major cities, may fall to the rebel armies of Addison. Meanwhile, Zetrossen has been building up troops on the Addison/Zetross border. Attiskan troops are staying their ground, lacking any clearly defined leader.

An announcement from the President of Kahta interrupts the country as they are sitting down to watch Kahtan Idol

We have begun striking the nuclear facilities of our ally, Attika, that are not under the control of Attika, as we speak we are preventing the proliferation of nuclear arms throughout the world. Continue with your lives, everything is normal.

As the Luftwaffe nears readiness, special forces units are moved to various airfields in Attiskan-held territory.

Addisonian troops have reached the outskirts of Obnama, where fighting had intensified. Hundreds are dying every second in bloody hand-to-hand fighting.

Meanwhile, researchers are very close to finding a possible monarch.

Kahta has launched airstrikes against enemy held nuclear facilites with 50 B-2's and 50 Tornadoes.

What are the losses?

There was no return fire. Every facility in Addison and Obnama territory was destroyed. However, several facilities did not have the pleasing explosion caused by the explosion of rocket fuel.

An emergency bill flew through the senate allowing the air forces stationed in Attiksa to engage in battle against any domestic armed enemies of attika.

Researchers beleive they might have found a reasonable claimant to the Throne. He is still being contacted, however.

In other news: Obnama has fallen. The remaining Obnamese territories have falled to Addison.

As the Addisonians consolidated their conquests, the Zetrossians were quick to invade. Along the entire Addison border, Zetrossian troops poured thru the Sudwald, a line of forests separating southern Attica from northern Attica. Initially pushed back, the Addisonian troops begin digging in, creating a defensive line from which to hold back Zetrossan.

Meanwhile, Attiskan aircraft begin taking off from airfields in Attiskan held territory. The Kriegsmarine, which had been consolidated outside of Port Artürburg, began moving to blockade the coastline of the so called "Kingdom of Addison" and the so called "Republic of Zetross". The Reichswehr also began mobilizing.

At first, everything seemed to be in the ordinary. However, things quickly became drastically worse. The men on watch at a hastily built Addisonian watch tower on the Attiskan border looked up as they saw 4 AWR-120 fighters dropping at them. The fighters quickly rose, and the men saw 4 bombs falling towards them. That was the last thing they saw. The explosion rocked the ground, as Attiskan troops poured into the province of Perkstadt. They easily overwhelmed the minimal defensive divisions stationed there, and, within 1 hour, took the city of Perkstadt. On the eastern front, Attiskan troops had just began breaching the Addisonian defensive perimter in Brelin.

Meanwhile, in the south, the Zetrossian militia continued hammering on, within 100km of Attiskan lines at some points. However, the eastern side of their front was staggering, being hit hard by Attiskan air strikes. It may possibly collapse soon.

Yes.

As the Addisonian army was in full retreat on the Northern and Southern fronts, they were forced to abandon their offensive on the eastern front simply in order to defend Addison. Attiskan troops were in full Blitz, marching almost unopposed thru Addisonian territory, taking Westhaven, Zenterstadt, and Sturmstadt. They were also nearing Brelinburg. The Zetrossen Republican army, however, was nearing the border, using outdated equipment. If they were not assisted, they would be very quickly overrun.

As both Zetrossan and Attiskan troops swarmed into the province of Addison, they inevitably were led into conflict. Initially, reports to the Zetrossen command were disbelieved, since they could not beleive that a murder they perpetrated could have failed in such a way that a new Emperor existed. However, they ordered their troops to attack, even though they would likely lose in Addison.

Breaking news:

A national strike has broken out across Kahta to protest the war in Attiska. All unions, from white collar, to law enforcement, to construction, and to retail are going on strike for one week. The government has decided to pull all units away from Attiska.

Other breaking news:
A small stockpile of nuclear atrillery shells has gone missing, it has been missing for about a month.

As Attican troops had almost crushed the Zetrossen troops in Addison, an odd order came from General Hohenwald.

"Pull back". The majority of the troops obeyed the order, but 2 legions under Colonel Külker remained behind, still fighting.

Unfortunately, they were doomed. At the very instant the Colonel ordered his men to advance, a grand explosion rocked behind them. They were incinerated almost immediately by a nuclear blast that rocked the entire area.

"Out of a concern for the security of the Citizens of the Attican Empire in their recent civil war, and noting that suveilance indicates a use of a nuclear weapon in the said war.

The Constitutional Republic of Rotovia will be deploying a peace-keeping force to the nation, until such time as a legitimate heir can retake the throne and restore order."

"What do you mean?"
"It appears to be a nuclear atrillery shell.."
"Please contact Attica and ask them to preform some tests on the area to see where the nuclear material originated."
"Yes sir."

Generelfeldmarschall Heinrich Kuklinski walked towards the Ministry of Defense, with a detachment of 5 armed Kaiserheer troops. As he opened the door, they began walking to the office of General Hohenwald. He then opened the door.

There is no one in there as the door opens.

"Where the hell is he", muttered Kuklinski, as he lifted his cell phone.
"Open a line to the Reichsgehemdienst, authorization code Alpha-264. This is Generelfeldmarshall Kuklinski, I need a location on General Hohenwald. As soon as possible. Thank you."

Meanwhile, SB-120s began bombing raids on Zetrossan.

Strikes turned violent today, as striking workers marched to the Capital Buliding in Kahta City and attemped to enter the building. The police responded with 500 riot police at least 4 people died when they were trampled to death. The police used pepperballs fired from paintball guns and over 400 people were arrested.

Gas went from $2.00 a gallon to $7 a gallon, as deliveries of fuel stopped for one week.

The economic decline in Kahta continues. THe military may be forced to cut time at sea or withdraw from operations, to avoid cutting other programs. The military takes 4.5% of the budget, while healthcare and other care programs take up nearly 70%.

The Attican forces resumed their previous assault. In only 3 hours, they captured the cities of Westhaven, Addison, Zenterstadt, Sturmstadt, and Brelinburg. The next major battles would likely be in Zetrossen and Obnama.

Meanwhile, bombings intensified, as the Kriegsmarine blockaded the provinces of Zetrossen, Küpferstadt, and Sudseeburg. Battleships began bombardments of the coast.

As troops entered fierce inner-city combat in both Zetrossen and Obnama, the Kriegsmarine moved into a closer position to the coast, intesifying their bombardment. Meanwhile, over 500 transport planes began taking off towards Karingrad...

OOC: Before i get involved, which states are most supportive of the old regime and the alliance with McLeod03?

OOC: Attiska... Zetrossen is the one who is about to be crushed (literally) and is attempting to create a Republic.

The Attican troops get ever closer to the centers of Obnama and Zetrossan.

In Karingrad, over 10,000 Fallschirmjäger drop onto the city and the area around it. Rather than be slaughtered, the vastly outnumbered Zetrossan troops surrender. The city is quickly renationalized.

Off of the Küpferstadt and Sudseeburg coast, small landing craft jut out from the fleets surrounding the coasts. Over 50,000 troops land on the shores, quickly eliminating any opposition. They begin moving towards the cities for which the provinces are named.

After days of fighting, Zetrossan and Obnama are both taken, within minutes of one another. Zetrossan troops across the entire front are surrendering. The war is over.

Breaking news

The director of the CIA has been arrested. The military has put the CIA building under lockdown, meaning no one is allowed in or out and all computers have been seized for examination of files. All signs point towards some sort of conspiracy between rebels in Attica and the CIA. These leads reportedly came form papers or documents found in Zetrossen.
