After several successful missions of the SFV Meva, the P4lladian Technate's first space-fold capable starship, we have decided to make this technology available to the rest of the galaxy's spacefaring nations. Due to the operation of our Technocratic economy, we can not accept your nation's currency as payment. All payment must be made in trade, preferably some amount of rare metals, exotic life forms, services or technology. Payment can be discussed later.

The PTS-701 Spacefold Generator is a sphere constructed mostly out of steel about 6m in diameter. It is fully contained with all necessary mechanisms and power systems. Each unit is good for one jump, so you'll want to purchase several of them. Spacefold generators can be stored anywhere inside or outside a starship, and will always have an effective fold radius of 1km, regardless of operating conditions. This means that you can hold the folders in a cargo bay and transport your starship, the rest of your folders and any other ship or object within one kilometer. Commands are issued using standard encrypted security channels and can put you anywhere within 25 lightyears of your position.

REQUIREMENTS
Your nation must:
+Have 100 million people or more
+Have a Thriving economy or better
+Have technological capability to reach our distribution starships in Earth +orbit or Eness III orbit
+Agree to not reverse-engineer or modify any units
+Return all spent units to the P4lladian space colony for recycling

-OOC-

It wouldn't happen to be a Robotech style spacefold, would it?

OOC: I don't know what Robotech is so I couldn't tell you. You turn it on and it folds space so that the two points intersect, and whatever was on the same side as the folder is moved over to the other side. There's also a nifty glowing ball special effects thing, too. Nevermind that it looks like the death star, it's much, much smaller! :D

edit: a quick google reveals that is is probably quite similar, except it won't put you in orbit around the wrong planet, and won't go AWOL at radom :D

Good Day,

Our nation is very interested in the PTS-701. We have has recently recieved extremely advanced interstellar technology (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=151898&highlight=) from the Vorlon race. One of the new advancements which our meager nation is only beginning to understand is the use of bio-organic adaptive armour. This armour can withstand upwards of 200,000 terajoules.

We would like to offer you one of these ships given to us as a gift, as we have cannot yet comprehend all of the technology available. The ship is armed with a large Quantum Gravitic Discharge Cannon for its primary weapon. This weapon is capable of destroying just about any known ship with a single volley. The large firing arc in front of the ship helps too. Supplementing this are 60 Quantum Gravitic lightning guns for engaging smaller craft. The Vorlons have no missile launchers on any of their ships. Apparently they think they have enough firepower to do without them; which seems to be the case.

Length: 3283.3 feet (1000 meters)
Height: 820.8 (250 meters)
Width: 820.8 (250 meters)
Weight: 22 million tons (20 million metric tons)
Power System: Hyperspace Tap with an unknown duration.
Cargo: Cargo holds are scattered about the ship that allows for carrying up to 500,000 tons of Cargo in addition to standard compliment of supplies and ammunition

This is minuscule data on the actual capabilities of the ship. There are many more. Please let me know if you approve and have any questions!

As a growing space-faring nation we the people and government of Visigaul are greatly pleased that there are others out there who share our same prospects. Although our own space-based technology is rapidly developing we are curently in dire need of short term substitutes from the various aspects of intergalactic travel, warfare, and transport. We have much to offer: The nation of Visigaul has a tremendous reserve of uranium, the amazing SUPER BEAST (endangered) capable of tearing a man to pieces in mere moments, and a rather large infantry sector of the military itching for target practice on your great nation's enemies. Finally, although you do not seem to approve of intercurrency transactions, we are willing to pay more than the right price for several PTS-701 units. Please consider my request and may your nation experience great prosperity.

National Commonwealth: This is a very acceptable proposal. The "bio-armor" and shields that you mentioned are very intriguing to me, and I would like to learn more about it, hopefully to eventually replicate it and adapt it to my own rather primitive space fleet. Because of your extreme generosity that will surely help us for generations to come, your ships may obtain as many units as they require from our distribution ships in Earth orbit and at our space station in the Eness system. You may return the units to either place after use for refurbishing.

If you plan on being a heavy user of the PTS-701, we would consider placing a disribution ship (and small military presense) where it is convenient for you. We will also gladly share any significant breakthroughs in regards to the ship you are offering us.

(That space-fold is probably from Dune. They use that method. Macross just happens to have a space-fold as well. Not all that sure on what happens in the Macross version.)

Visigaul: We understand your need for an interim transportation technology, which is the very purpose that the PTS-701 was designed for. If you are not planning on using these units extensively for the long term, it should be very easy for us to work out a deal.

As regrettable as it is, nuclear weapons are a fact of life and we do have a military to maintain. Considering how damaging it is to the environment to mine uranium (since all the more accessible deposits are depleted), uranium trade is acceptale. Our nuclear power plants will also benefit from this, though we are in the process of replacing those with fusion plants.

The "Super Beast", while it sounds more of a liability than a payment, is endangered and we will accept some of the creatures and try to help give them a home as a token of goodwill, this being our first storefront.

Unfortunately, your currency is quite worthless to us, as we have a free-resource, closed-border economy. We have no currency to speak of, thus we have nothing to convert yours into. Uranium, while of limited use to us, is acceptable payment for about [2 real-life weeks]. If you wish to continue using the PTS-701 system after [2 real-life weeks], we will need to come up with a different agreement, as we can only make use of the uranium for so long.

OOC: Actually, I came up with this on my own. That's not to say that nobody else came up with it before me, and it very well could be almost identical to what was in Dune (which I haven't seen/read). It's not *from* anything, but sounds, to me, very similar to what was in Macross and what is probably in Dune. :)

We are very happy you have accepted our offer. We wish to obtain five units. Our scout transport will rendevouz with your supply ships in the Eness system in 3 NS days. We will also have the Vorlon vessel piloted to this same location, unless you would prefer it be taken somewhere else. We appreciate your generous offer to share further discoveries concerning the ships, with us. We have prepared a report on all we have uncovered investigating the Vorlon bio-armour and weapons, which will be delivered to you at the time we pickup the PTS-701s.

Thank you!
