Everyone in Lhasa(our capital) was watching the annual military parade by regular forces and Iron Guards. The regular forces were first to come, beginning with infantry followed by tanks and last but not least the support vehicles. The Iron Guards, the Emperors elite troops came after the Regular army, with their infantry and tanks.
One of the last vehicles was the Emperors car who always rides in the parade with his Iron Guards. In the last 2 miles before his palace a shot was fired, hitting the Emperor in the head and killing him instantly. Iron Guards imediatly sealed of the district and started searching for the assassin.
It didnt take them long, while the assassin tried to escape he bumped into a group of IG soldiers. he was ordered to drop his weapon but he hesitated. While one of the soldiers asked for support, the others tried to make him drop his weapon by talking to him but he did not respond. Then, realizing he would probably be thrown in jail for the rest of his life he tried to shoot his way out. The soldiers reacted swiftly and killed the man.
All the civilians in the district were then checked and sent home while a military unit took care of the emperors body. Secret service officers started their investigation, starting by an identification of the assassin.
"The man was identified as Josef Metaxas, a member of the Socialist party, he also has a membershipcard of an unknown communist organization. His motives remain unclear, although we believe it has something to do with recent elections. As a socialist he was probably angry at the new government formed by liberals and VB. It doesnt really clear up why he killed the Emperor though.
The weapon he used is an SKS Simonov, license produced by Norinco, he also had a car nearby to escape. That is all we can tell you for now but we will continue our investigations. We will be looking for other possible suspects in the Socialist party and socialist minded organizations. We have evidence that points in the socialist direction, more will be revealed later"
In the whole city, Socialists came on the streets. Angry at the new government and the secret service that saw them as criminals. with more then 10.000 they came to the Emperors palace. At the palace they remained and continued their protest.
The few Iron Guards left at the palace did not intervene, other Iron Guards units left the scene. The Iron Guards saw no reason do to anything, they had failed in their job to protect the emperor, disgruntled they left the district leaving the job to local police.
The police didnt wait long, riot-police with shields and sticks whowed up, formed lines and charged the protesters, taking more then a hundred prisoner. The demonstration group broke into smaller groups that moved through the city followed by Policecavalry.
The next day, Socialist took to the streets in the whole nation. And in every city, police did their best to break the groups up and arrest the leaders.
The government ordered the army to help and decided to ban Socialist meetings, atleast for as long as the investigation required. The socialists didnt exactly like that decision, but there was little they could do about it.
