Good evening and welcome to SvenTV's news hour.

Our main story today is the promotion by Federal president Jan Ulfansen of fresh elections next week for the new Federal assembly. The president described the elections as a vital part of the unification process of our nations and urged every citizen to play their part in these historic elections. Every household in the Federation will receive a voting information slip, detailing their local polling station and the parties standing for election.

In other news today, it was announced that sustainable forestry production rose by seven percent over the past three months...

Informal message from the office of the Minister of the Interior, Central Svenmark.

Given the almost secular nature of our countries, most political paties don't tend to hold religous views. That said, the Socialistts would tend to reduce subsidies to churches, while the Nationalists are noted for their anti-semitic elements.

Overall, the religous persuasion of the region is genereally Lutherian Christian.

I hope this is of use to you.

Good afternoon, here is the SvenRadio news at 4.

In early voting in the first Federal elections, the Federal Liberal party has pulled ahead in exit polls with a lead of twenty percent over the Democratic, Socialist and Federal Nationalist parties, all of which have polled 20 percent according to exit polls.

Political commentators have voiced concern over the large percentage of votes gained by the Federal Nationalists, though this is expected to be diluted when the majority of the electorate cast their votes later in the week.

Speaking at his local polling station, the head of the Liberal Party Dr Peter Holasson said that the figures showed the electorate was confident that his party would guide the nations through the unification process with little in the way of problems. He cited the party's majority in four of the six Federal parliaments as a sure sign of voter confidence in the party.

He urged voters to support the mainstream parties and deny the National Federalists any hint of respectability.

'We are a civilised land and this party is a stain on our character', he said.

The Federal Nationalist's leader, Sven Uhlasen, said that his parties gains in the polls reflected voter anger at the increased number of immigrants arriving in the region.
