OOC: This will be on a trial basis only, to determine the market for Russian tech. Please feel free to add OOC requests, critiques, or suggestions. Should things work out, I'll go through the trouble of finding out how to link pictures to the unit names.

Soviet Tech Storefront

Preamble
Our company, taking advantage of several former Warsaw Pact states transitioning from Russian to NATO-based technology, is prepared to provide our best ground systems to nations in need of effective, yet economical fighting forces. Soviet/Russian technology is an excellent choice for reserve units, National Guard units, or nations planning on fielding large fighting forces.

It is the philosophy of our company to sell weapons systems capable of winning wars. This is why our truly outdated systems such as the T-64 and T-62 main battle tanks are being scrapped as we speak. Abandon all prejudices you might have about Soviet or Russian technology being inferior to NATO-grade equipment. It is the crew and the leadership that counts as much as the equipment they ride in. That is why we are willing to provide military advisors with real combat experience to advise client states in the operation of all our vehicles offered,

T-90 MBT
A high-tech and modern MBT designed to go up against the best of the next-generation NATO technology. The T-90, considered by some to be a step back from the high-techer T-80, is a more hearty and ‘Russian’ tank. Many of the same features of the NATO designs are found the in the T-90 series, including 2-axis gun stabilization, high-tech laser range finder assisted targeting computer, and advanced armor. The T-90 also maintains many of the advantages of the older Soviet designs as well. She is easily maintained and long-ranged with a simple yet effective diesel engine, rather than a turbine. Capable of firing the AT-11 missile from her main gun, the T-90 can engage armor or helicopter threats from 4000 meters, giving it a stand-off capability unmatched by NATO designs. Explosive reactive armor allows for advanced anti-missile protection, as does the T-90’s advanced electronic and active countermeasure systems.

T-80UM MBT
The Russian's closest approximation of the American M-1A series of main battle tanks, the T-80U is a turbine-powered powerhouse of the Russian Army. Now built by the McQuaide Steelworks in Tiblisi, the T-80UM has been outfitted with a more modern suite of armor designed to defeat anti-tank rounds from 120mm smoothbore L55, a point defense system that can engage up to 3 anti-tank missiles before needing reloading, and a laser dazzler device to prevent laser range-finder or designator devices from working. Where this tank falls behind other designs is primarily in its range. With a less efficient turbine than most western tanks, the T-80UM requires external fuel tanks to match the range of most other designs. For this reason, the McQuaide Armed Forces primarily employs the T-80UM as a spearhead vehicle, stabbing quickly into enemy lines before being quickly replaced by longer-ranged vehicles like the T-90 and T-72.

Combat Weight: 46 metric tons
Max Speed: 75 km/h
Max Range: 335 km/600 km with extra tanks
Armament: 125-mm 2A46M-1 smoothbore gun, Coaxial PKT 7.62mm, Remote controlled 12.7mm
Ammunition: 28 rounds 125mm, 1,250 rds 7.63, 300 rds 12.7mm
Armor: 1,150-1,350mm
Crew: 3
COST: $3.8 million USD

Also available as:
Command Version—Additional radio communications systems, and a battlefield network commander’s station. 4.5 million USD

T-72 MBT
Considered to be the workhorse MBT of the modern Russian Army, the T-72 series of tank combines modern technology with brute strength and the ability to field great numbers of vehicles cheaply. Powered by a V-12 diesel engine, the T-72 can outmaneuver the more short-ranged M-1A series MBT, even though it cannot outrun the turbine powered American design. The T-72 features 2-plane gun stabilization, auto-loading, for the beefy 125mm smooth bore main gun, which is capable of devastating even the best of NATO armor systems from more than a kilometer away. When covered with explosive reactive armor, the T-72 can be just as survivable as many NATO models. Although not as flashy and high-tech as its competition, a T-72 in the hands of a well-trained crew can equal any more modern design.

Combat Weight: 45 metric tons
Max Speed: 65 km/h
Max Range: 500-600 km
Armament: 125mm 2A46M-2 smoothbore, Coaxial PKT 7.62mm, manually operated 12.7mm
Ammunition: 40 rounds 125mm, 1,500 rds 7.63, 500 rds 12.7mm
Armor: 300-375mm
Crew: 3
COST: 3.2 million USD

Also available as:
Command Version—Additional radio communications systems, and a battlefield network commander’s station. 3.85 million USD

Armored Personnel Carriers

BMD-3
The ultimate in airborne infantry fighting vehicles. This vehicle offers an excellent option for commanders desiring a flexible, survivable, and lethal fighting vehicle for expeditionary operations. IL-76 transport aircraft are able to drop three vehicles, fully loaded and crewed, directly into combat situations. Unlike NATO variants which require crews to parachute separately, the BMD-3 is capable of fighting from the moment it touches the ground. Reactive armor options make the BMD-3 capable of surviving anti-tank missile strikes, although such options endanger dismounted infantry. The BMD-3 is capable of carrying four infantrymen, or 7 in an emergency. The BMD-3 is classified as fully amphibious, capable of swimming across rivers or lakes to surprise the enemy.

A dismountable automatic grenade launcher makes for an excellent complement to the outstanding 30mm cannon, and allows for dismounted infantry to project a great deal of firepower.

BMP-3
Why buy a Bradley with a puny 30mm Bushmaster when you can have the equally capable BMP-3 armed with a whopping 100mm main gun AND the 30mm cannon? The BMP-3 is capable of firing anti-tank guided missiles from its main gun, providing it with a significant stand-off capability.

We maintain a highly mobile brigade comprised exclusively of BMP-3s as a cornerstone of our homeland defense plan. This brigade is a highly mobile, highly lethal unit capable of devastating light armored vehicle and infantry units. Whether deployed as such a ‘cavalry raiding’ unit or as a part of a more conventional mechanized or armored unit, the BMP-3 is an excellent troop transport choice.

Combat Weight: 18.7 metric tons
Max Speed: 70 km/h road, 45 off-road, 10 swimming

BRDM-2
An economy 4-wheeled reconnaissance vehicle. Available in several varieties, the BRDM-2 is in many ways comparable to the American LAV family, but at much lower cost. Amphibious, lightly armed, and lightly armored, this vehicle is the quintessential scouting unit. We have modified the basic model to double as an anti-tank vehicle, adding five AT-5 tubes to the light turret to provide a stand-off attack capability.

2S6M Tunguska

For the close-in defense of mobile units, the 2S6M provides both a powerful and mobile 4-barrel 30mm gun capability, and an 8-tube 10km-ranged SAM capability. Able to fire on the move and resist small arms and artillery shrapnel damage, the Tunguska can be compared favorably to American Avenger systems.

Combat Weight: 34 metric tons
Max Speed: 65 km/h road
Max Range: 500 km
Armament: 4x 30mm cannon, 8x SA-19 SAM
Ammunition: 4,000 rds 30mm, 10 rds SA-19 SAM

COST: $2.8 million USD

http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/world/russia/images/zsu23-2.gif

ZSU-23-4 Shilka

One of the most feared anti-air gun systems in the world, the Shilka is maneuverable, fast, and deadly. The Shilka’s four 23mm cannon fire at a lightning fast speed. Pilots surviving encounters with the system at night describe the tracer arcs as appearing to be like laser beams because of the volume of fire rising into the air. The Shilka’s light weight and quick deployment time makes it an excellent airborne deployment unit.

Combat Weight: 20.5 metric tons
Max Speed: 70 km/h road, 40 offroad
Max Range: 625 km
Armament: 4x 23mm cannon
Ammunition: 2,000 rds 23mm
Armor: 9.4 mm
Crew: 4
COST: $1.5 million USD

SA-13 GOPHER

A medium-ranged IR guided SAM system meant to complement the SA-15, the SA-13 has the advantage of being able to fire on the move. Able to engage a target from 500-5000 meters from any aspect, the SA-13 bridges the gap between the SA-15 and shoulder-fired short ranged systems.

Combat Weight: 14. metric tons
Max Speed: 70 km/h road, 40 offroad
Max Range: 500 km
Armament: 4x SA-13 IR-guided SAMs
Ammunition: 14x SA-13
Armor: 4 mm
Crew: 3
COST: $2.5 million USD

SA-15 GAUNTLET

A medium-ranged SAM system, the SA-15 represents a strong bridge between shorter-ranged highly mobile systems and long-range, immobile or semi-mobile systems. Able to emplace quickly and keep up with many mechanized units, the SA-15 is unable to provide air defense while on the move. Able to engage 2 separate targets in any weather from 200-12000 meters, the SA-15 performs comparably to American HUMRAAM systems.

Combat Weight: 34 metric tons
Max Speed: 65 km/h road, 40 offroad
Max Range: 500 km
Armament: 8x SA-15 radar-guided missiles
Ammunition: 16x SA-15
Armor: 3.3 mm
Crew: 3
COST: $4.5 million USD

SA-12 Gladiator

Theatre air defense and anti-ballistic missile capabilities at HALF the cost of a patriot system. Considered a semi-mobile system, the SA-12 requires several vehicles and more than two dozen people to operate. Once in place, however, this system can engage targets at almost any altitude to 90km. An excellent option for the defense of cities or high-value military installations, this is the missile that still guards Moscow!

COST: $28 million USD for 8-missile launch-capable battery complete with radar, command center, reload vehicle, and transport/erect/launch vehicles.

2S19 MSTA-S 152-mm Self-Propelled Howitzer

Sometimes the best solution is deceptively simple. For example, rather than develop a multi-billion dollar Self-Propelled Artillery program, simply take a T-80 tank chassis, and replace the tank turret with the massively powerful 152mm artillery cannon. The 2S19 is a reliable and inexpensive design, allowing a fighting force to economically field a large field artillery unit of highly mobile, armored artillery.

Combat Weight: 42 metric tons
Max Speed: 60 km/h road, 25 offroad
Max Range: 500 km
Armament: 152mm Howitzer, 12.7-mm MG
Ammunition: 16 complete rounds
Armor: 15 mm
Crew: 4
COST: $1.5 million USD

M-55 152-mm Towed Howitzer

Again, a simple and reliable weapon system. Great for massed offensive or defensive fires, the M-55 is a proven system used world-wide.

Combat Weight: 5.7 tons
Armament: 152mm Howitzer
Range: 10 miles
COST: $100,000 USD

Special Forces Armored Division
With one brigade of T-90 tanks, three T-72 brigade combat teams, and a heavy artillery brigade, the Special Forces Armored Division (SFAD) is the ideal breakthrough division. Although its use of engineering and air defense regiments rather than brigades reduces a bit of the unit’s flexibility, the SFAD is a terror on open ground. Vulnerability to air attack is minimized through the use of 2S6M Tunguska air defence vehicles organic to every unit. Provisions are made for the assignment of an aviation brigade, although this brigade can be ‘clipped of’ to make the SFAD even faster and lighter.

One unique fact about the SFAD is that, because all materials are either provided with Soviet-era serial numbers or have been removed, these weapons are only traceable to a nation that no longer exists! Like the thousands of other pieces of Soviet-era equipment in the hands of the Chechens, Iranians, Indians, and dozens of other states, your equipment is virtually untraceable should units be disabled or destroyed!

An alternative to the 3:1 T-72 to T-90 ratio is to opt for a 100% T-90 division, granting each of the brigade combat teams even greater fire power and survivability. This upgrade in vehicles costs an additional $372 million USD.

Rear Area Raiding Brigade

There is a peculiar sensation that troops feel when they are operating behind enemy lines. There is a sort of electric anticipation, as if behind every tree and ridge there is a huge army waiting to attack. This peculiar sensation, uncomfortable as it may be, is nothing compared to the absolute terror felt in the heart of an army when they realize there is an entire brigade ripping through their rear area, attacking artillery support, air support, and logistics units. Entire Corps-level attacks have been halted in their tracks because of the actions of such brigades.

The Rear Area Raiding Brigade is the true descendant of the horse cavalry units of the late 1800s. With the long range maneuverability to outflank a large formation and the durability and speed to follow up after a head-on rush, commanders have two solid options to place the RARB behind enemy lines. Once there, the RARB is a fast, light unit. Unique amongst modern military units, the RARB has absolutely no trucks. Instead, logistics support is provided entirely by the BMP-3 Logistics model. Although this hampers the long-term endurance of the unit, it is generally not expected to operate for longer than 10 days in the field. By that time, either the number of available soft targets will have been depleted, or the unit will be facing too much opposition to be effective.

coming (very!) soon: Heavy Armored Brigade

Heavy Armored Brigade

A unique twist on an old classic. The Heavy Armored Brigade featured here is designed with a dual mission in mind. Although an effective classical armored brigade, with two full battalions of the lethal T-90 and a battalion of the flexible and quick BMP-3 infantry fighting vehicle, this unit is actually designed for training purposes.

The HAB is organized and designed to serve as a realistic opposition force, or “OpFor,” for advanced armor training. When this package is purchased, it actually comes with a three-month training and orientation session with the McQuaide Self Defense Force’s own OpFor Brigade, the 10th Armored Brigade. During this time your brigade’s personnel will be provided their equipment, and trained by the men and women of the 10th Armored Brigade on the battle tactics taught in Moscow and Beijing. Once trained, your nation is guaranteed 50 seats per academic year for ten years at the Michael Collins Military Academy in New Dublin, where advanced officer training is instructed along with a Liberal Arts education unmatched in the nation.

Although its primary purpose is indeed training, the HAB is still an effective fighting unit capable of devastation your enemy’s front line. A heavy concentration of 9K58 ‘Smerch’ MLRS vehicles means the brigade commander has the ability to drop literally thousands of cluster and smart anti-armor submunitions on an enemy before the enemy can even be seen. A full air defense battalion translates to survivability for your unit as it repels air attacks from more than 20km away.

((OOC: No, I agree that the '80U is a great vehicle. This was a limited-issue trial, to see if there is a market. Now that I'm seeing some success, expect to see expansion into aviation, as well as pictures, many more armor options, and coastal patrol ships. What McQuaide is doing right now is selling off its surplus from when it was Soviet Georgia, while it reorients its industry to begin producing items on its own. Trust me, the T-80U will be one of the first items off of the assembly lines, along with the BMD-3. Gawd I love that thing.))

Although the Commonwealth of McQuaide is honored by your patronage, we are afraid that, unlike many states who sell military hardware, we do not sell to states of all political persuasions. We are afraid that, as a liberal democratic state, we cannot ethically supply a nation of such extreme political views.

A bit of an opinion. Overall the site's nice. I'd suggest attempting to have a picture for every unit sold. Also, though the prices at times are a little high the average cost is nice. I do though have one major problem. That is the T55 chassis. I see no reason why a weaponless, turretless chassis of a tank deployed in 1958 should cost 1,500,000 dollars.

The Grand Duchy of Barretta would like to make a purchase because you are, as we have found, the most complete dealer in ex-Soviet equipment. This purchase will be rather large, so, depending on the price you set on it, we may need to make payments. However, if we can afford it, we will pay a lump sum. We are asking if you would produce 1 Soviet Motorized Rifle Division. This would consist of the following:

1 Headquarters
3 Motorized Rifle Regiments
1 Tank Regiment
1 Independent Tank Battalion
1 Reconnaissance Battalion
1 Anti-Aircraft Regiment
1 Anti-Tank Battalion
1 Mortar Battalion
1 FROG Battalion
1 Engineer Battalion
1 Signal Battalion
1 Medical Battalion
1 Maintenance Battalion
1 Transportation Battalion
1 Chemical Defense Battalion

Intent: Frontline battlefield use
Requirements:If the division is properly put together (which I trust it will), there shouldn't be any outstanding needs. However, if it is possible, I would like to replace ALL AK-47s for -74s, even for the standard infantryman. Also, the tanks for the division need to be T-90s. If you wish to further discuss this purchase, feel free to TG our embassy.

The pricing for the T-55 chassis is admittedly high. Let's say half off for all T-55 models from here on out, and a significant rebate for all customers who have purchased them so far.

Excelent storefront, and great research. I'm a big fan of the soviets, but I've moved away from a lot of their equipment because the sensors and electronics packages simply can't compare with western ones. If you could upgrade the T-90 with all the top end equipment available now that haven't been installed in any vehicles, it would be one of the best tanks in NS. I did the same thing with the Merkava IV. If you upgraded the 2S6M Tunguska and ZSU-23-4 Shilka, I'd definately make them my primary AAA vehicles.. and if you don't, I might!
McQuaide

We thank Chardonay for their constructive commentary. We are pleased to announce the beginning of development on two very exciting new projects: The T-90M SEP upgrade, and the T-80UM SEP upgrade.

These SEP (Special Electronics Package) upgrades will supplement the outstanding Explosive Reactive Armor and laminated composite armor systems of these two vehicles with modern jamming, detection, and interception systems. An upgraded fire control system and sensor suite will also be included, as well as commander stations linking each vehicle to a battlefield command and control network.

If you are talking about the Heavy Armored Brigade, then $1,402,250,000.00. If you are talking about a division-sized unit, I'm working on a commission for a Motor Rifle Division with Baretta right now, it should be complete in a few days, and should prove to be the most accurately outfitted unit I've been able to put out yet.
