ANBARPLITZ, Tuesday: Members of the international nudist group NAW (Nudist Action Now) brought the city centre of Anbarplitz to a standstill at midday yesterday by publicly protesting against the Bohravian government's latest dictatorial supression of liberty: decreeing public nudity an arrestable criminal offence, voted for by the Legislative Assembly last Thursday.
At 12 o'clock sharp, in the middle of the city's Botanic Gardens, a group of 103 people stripped off in full view of passersby and began chanting "Nudity Is God's Costume!" and "Nature Is No Crime!" over a megaphone. The commotion was quick to draw a 300+ crowd, and within the hour half the city was clamouring to get a glimpse of the daredevil nudists and the latest instance of public defiance towards the regime.

The protesters, led by a 26-year old American university student known only as 'Ryan', vehemently stated theirs was a peaceful protest undesigned to provoke. "Look, we've really no reason to stir up 'trouble' here" Ryan said, when interviewed briefly by our news crew "but the things that are going in this country defy belief, man. How nudity - the natural state - can be declared criminal by some Big Brother government is a sad indictment of the times we live in."
He revealed the NAW members had entered the country on student visas with the pretext of studying politics at Anbar National University. He also said they had revealed their plan to a few members of the public beforehand, saying the feedback they had recieved was generally good. Moreover they had recruited around 34 locals to join them in the protest.

A detachment of the National Police's riot division was called to the scene at 12.45, but under strict instructions to not use force. The protest went ahead virtually uninterrupted, and only three NAW members were arrested for provoking the officers.
The Bohravian Government has so far declined to comment specifically on the matter, but stated it would not be dictated to by subversive influences, foreign or otherwise.
