...Prime Minister Yun Ren has, most unfortunately, expired due to a severe case of food poisoning. As a result of her untimely death, Vice-Minister Ellington Duke has assumed her duties as Prime Minister as well as the rest of her 4 year term. Although this procedure has been both confirmed by the Kanabian Treaty and by Parliment, a small faction within the Socialist-Green Bloc has attempted to counter Vice-Minister Ellington Duke's assumption of Yun Ren's term. This faction is led by none other than Willarn Dee, Representative from the Lower Zhang Tao Provence. It has been rumored that the Minority Whip has had some trouble with Willarn Dee's lack of grace as well as his open opposition against the Praetorian-Independent-Conservative Bloc. (Specifically the Praetorian Party) It has yet to be seen on the Socialist's reaction to their 'rebellious' member.

...Several protests were held within the city of Kay Son and Communalist City against the movement of formally appointing Vice-Minister Ellington Duke as the Third Prime Minister of The People's Republic. These protests were quelled in Kay Son, thanks to the valiant efforts of the Lung T'ao Bear Company and the Ling Bao Muskets. However, those rebellious elements within Communalist City have continued to ravage the commercial and industrial heart of that metropolis. The reasons behind the lack of order within that region mainly lie within Willarn Dee's stubborn defiance on bringing forth the restrictions that the Kanabian Treaty has against PLA personnel. Willarn Dee is quoted in saying: The fault is not the people's but the d*mm*d d***l's in T'sing T'sin for shutting up an army in the Prime Minister's seat.

...An attempted assassination was made upon Acting Prime Minister Ellington Duke as he was leaving the funeral of the late Prime Minister Yun Ren. While it is not known the exact identities of the assassins, it has been stated that the weapons used in the attack were ones used during the Revolution. SecForce 1 were called in to sweep the area for any possible terrorists within the area. Rumor has it that one of the culprits has been captured and dragged to Gallows Hill for questioning. As for the Vice-Minister, a brief hospital visit has determined that he has suffered a shot through the shoulder, but nothing serious. A state of limited military emergency has been placed within the area of the Zhang Tao Provence and the Kay Son Territorial District. All former veterans of the Socialist Army are required to account themselves at the nearest military base for additional questioning.

A daring raid was attempted yestereday at Victory Plaza, approximately 5 meters away from the Southern Armory. Luckily, much of the armament was saved by the handywork of the Sowest Rifles, whom thwarted the attempt and killed 10 of the assailants. Upon closer view, it was later found out that much of the assailants wore the uniform of the late "Adder Brigade", complete with patch, ranks, and the flag of Old Kay Son on their backs. None of the armaments were stolen; however, 4 of the thieves were later captured during a sweep of the city.

As a result of this dastardly deed and other activities, Prime Minister Ellington Duke has revoked Clause 9 of the Treaty, thereby placing the Kay Son Territorial District [specifically Kay Son] and Lower Zhang Tao Provence under limited martial law. Some of the stipulations range from activation of all military forces within the vicinity of those areas as well as the formal requirement of all registered Socialists to account themselves to the nearest military base. Chairman Yang Min and the Green Party has formally called forth a ceasement of all hostilities and asked Parliment to convene an Emergency Summit.

It should be noted that a source within the Fort has leaked the information that PM Ellington Duke has formally requested Chairman Yang Min to account himself at the Prime Minister's House for a "discussion".

...Today, a firefight erupted in Communalist City between elements of the 1st Lancer Regiment and members of the resurrected 'Adder Brigade'. Current figures state that 30 members of the Adder Brigade were slain along with 20 unattached combatants. As for the 1st Lancer Regiment, 10 were killed due to a Molotov Cocktails, 15 seriously injured, and 30 wounded. More casulties were averted thanks to the conduct of the RNS Epoch, RNS Roslon, and the RNS Tolopov, who quickly ended any hopes of the 'Adder Brigade' from launching any more assualts. For the damages in structure, much of Port 7 and the surrounding areas have been pulverized with neighboring houses receiving miscellanous artillery and rifle shells within their walls. Two hours later, the entirely of the 2st Cavarly Division, supported by the 1st Assault Infantry, 4th Armored Division, and the Frenchfor Quarter Squadron were dispatched to that area to prevent any more rebellion.

Excerpt from the Quartermain's Guide to Social-Political Movements in Kay Son

Socialists- Believes that the government should strictly focus on the social aspects of it's citizen base at the cost of it's defense. Due to it's roots within the Cay Suhn Faith, it also firmly states the restrictions that one should observe. These restrictions are limited to one's chosen profession with the possible increase in status dependent on procedures that mark one's 'education' via through ritualistic tests- both on faith on traditional beliefs about this system and the very class that they are seeking to attain.

Communalists- An extreme form of Socialism, it advocates an even stricter form of caste restrictions, with the only chance of "true enlightenment" through working with state sponsored educational facilities called Communes.

"Neo"-Communalists- A further adaptation of Communalism, it mainly focuses on the idea of the "True Republic", a state that is truly based on the castes of Worker and Leader. In this belief, there is no 'rise' from one's status, with the constant reminder that the State is All and other literature relating to that ideal. In the status of Leader, one is placed in charge of "cadres" that usually run a specific sector of the economy or society.

Radical Socialism- Usually regarded as both the military and political wing of the "Neo-Communalists" and the "Communalists", it has been documented that much of it's membership consists of Revolution veterans. It exact numbers are in fact known, and this faction is under constant surviellance by SecForce

Standing in the doorway of the lead C-17 Globemaster, with 99 other combat ready paratroopers standing behind him, Captain Randall waited for the green light. He heard one of the men standing next to the door infront of him yell, "GO!" and the green light flashed on. He jumped out of the door, the static line pulling his parachute. He began drifting slowly towards the ground. He could see the other half of the 1st Brigade, 94th Airborne Division jumping from the trailing C-17. Looking down he steered towards the landing zone, marked with flares. As he hit the ground he performed a perfect parachute landing fall, stood, and surveyed the area around him. The rest of his company fell near him. They formed up and quickly ran into the nearby woods, the other companies of the brigade doing the same.

"The rebel headquarters is this way," he said, glancing at his map and pointing to the north,"Lets move out!"

Good Evening. My name is Ellington Duke, Prime Minister, and serving the rest of my predecessor's term. Two hours ago, I was in a conference with Willarn Dee and several other legislators on ceaseing this useless hostility when I recieved word that someone had bombed the headquarters of the 4th, 5th, and 6th District Guards. Their venture was a useless one due to the troops of those areas being stationed in Zhang Tao due to the hostilities surrounding the Gay/Lesbian/Bisexual Act. Not soon after that, there was a sound at the door. Three minutes later, thugs of a brutal nature broke through the door and attempted to kill me. They managed to kill a significant majority of those present in the room, with the exception of Willarn Dee, who pulled a gun on me in the name of his "Commune". Luckily, at the cost of his life, one of my guards shot him down before he could pull the trigger. He died as the thugs took that oppertunity to shoot him in the stomach.

As a result of this dastardly deed, and others that have continued to pile my desk, I formally declare Full Martial Law in the People's Republic of Kay Son. All governmental functions are here by suspended until further notice with all legislators ushered into a zone of safety. All those of a socialist nature are hereby ordered to turn themselves in or to be executed by noose or gun. All those of a Radical Socialist nature or to that extreme, are also ordered to turn themselves in. Such a state will last until this threat to both the order and the government are elminated. Thank you for your time.

Good Evening. As contrary to Vice-Minister Duke's feeble attempt to think that he killed me, he is wrong. I have survived, thanks to the Commune and the Commune will SURVIVE. It was a dark night in the city of Frenchfor Quarter. The only sounds that could be heard was the lapping of the waters and the footprints of the soilders. A block away from one of the berthed ships a man dressed in black waited.

The footprints moved. The man in black paused, then ran to the space vacated by the soldier. He got to a pile of wooden boxes, then crouched behind them.

The soldier returned, rolling his neck for comfort, and adjusted his rifle. in the lamp light, the man in black could see the man was Navy; much less prepared than the others he had seen. The man in black checked to see where the sailor was looking, then ducked back down.

He took out a silencer, pistol, and a rag. He put the silencer on the pistol with the rag, then peeped over the edge. The sailor was looking his way- then-

He fell.

The man in black walked over to him, got his rifle, and dragged the body behind the boxes. With this done, he darted over to another series of boxes positioned near a warehouse. He kneeled down to take something out of his package.

"Halt!" cried a voice.

The man in black turned to see two other Navy men holding their rifles at him. There seemed only one route out. The man in black carefully placed the small gray objects near his feet.

"Identification, please" said one of the sailors.

The man in black smiled, raised his foot, and stomped on the gray object.

"We're go," said Captaion Randall as he read the message, "Set the charges, we'll cover you."

Two men, clad in urban camoflauge slowly approached the large building. They placed explosive charges at key points on the outside of the structure. After a few minute they returned to Cpt. Randall's position, one of them trailing a wire behind him. He attached the wire to his control panel, flicked off the safety switch and placed his finger on the big red button. He glanced up at the Captaian, and recieved a nod. He pushed the button and flames climbed into the sky. The structure burned and collapsed.

"Objective complete, heading to extraction zone gamma," said Captain Randall into his radio.

...As of late, the return to the military government is going quite successfull, ablit the implications that this has to the Kanabian Treaty. SecForce strikes all over the Republic are happening with many of the suspected criminals of this radical movement being either detained or executed if shown resistance. Military strikes within the Zhang Tao Provence is settling to it's old grove, with most of the cities either under military rule or simply slagged to the ground due to it's opposing militias. Of course, the reader must keep in mind that there seems to be a growing movement by the military to actually minimize civilian casulities both in property and life. There has been an actual rumor going around within the troops that one such company in the Assault Infantry helping a woman give birth to triplets as well as carting the rest of her family (complete with most of their property) to a safety zone. When confronted with this rumor, General Lun acquiesced to the validity of the statement, and pointed out other 'valiant' efforts taken by his troops to help out the civilians with their troubles....

...In other news, Frenchfor Quarter is busily being re-constructed due to it's explosion that it suffered. Much of the port has been re-built with anti-flammable material with Piers 1 to 25 fenced in with a permanent guard behind stone and wire fences....

Several cameflouged figures watched foreign looking soldiers walk away from the burning building. One of the figure motioned his companion to get something. The companion took out a small jar, lit it, and threw it in the direction of the soldiers. Four others soon followed him, with most of their jars missing the target. With this done, the rest took out their guns and started firing.

...A bombing took place today at the Isselmere Port today, killing approximately 20 people, and damaging a hull of the future RNS Ginglesburg. This soon resulted in the closure of all open waterways as well as a fierce hunt by naval authorities to explore the exact methods of how such brutality could have taken place. Three hours into the hunt, the RNS Pioneer managed to capture a 20 foot skiff attempting to catch the Northern Current to Zhang Tao. Boarding was prohibited due to the opposition that the skiff gave to the Shakameister, thereby prolonging the capture until 1450, where the RNS Barracuda managed to intercede the skiff's course to the troubled Penninsula. On board, the skiff held surplus incinerary equipment (with the markings of the Canton Shipyard) and a makeshift radio-code device. Naval authorities have yet to comment on why both a battleship and a tow boat were needed in capturing a small boat.

The 13th Infantry Brigade arrived at the Frenchfor Quarter international airport and organised itself for the journey to the Naval Yard. The brigadier general had received word that the insurgents had bombed the FNY, the very symbol of UKIN and PRKS cooperation, and that many innocent workers and security personnel had died. It had taken the entirety of the RINAF's strategic transport aircraft to transfer the unit from the UKIN and still there was a fair measure of heavy equipment being shipped over under heavy escort.

A few light UAVs were launched to scout out avenues for the troops to travel within their wheeled IFVs and support vehicles before BGen Gerard Chalmers finally agreed to move out. A small contingent of attack helicopters buzzed overhead. If nothing else, he would make certain that anyone foolhardy enough to attack the convoy would suffer egregious losses.

...Much of the southern and western coastal areas of the Penninsula is firmly in the military hands with the exception of the North, whom seem to have an unusual amount of missiles that seem to be aimed at the ships. There is also a growing amount of resistance by the Zhang Tao inhabitants against the three divisions stationed in the country, often dependent on guerilla and scorched earth tatics. It has been reported that the 2st Cavarly Divsion and the the 1st Assault Infantry did run into the lastest re-incarnation of the Iron Fist Brigade at Caysuhn Mi Road, resulting in heavy amounts of caulties. This loss was quickly averted thanks to the 4th District Guards, whom promptly squashed any more offenses done by the rabble.

...In other news, the 4th Armored Division were met with an attempted bombing attack near East Rock Plain. It was reported that the opposition (bearing the sign of the Communalist Eagle Brigade) did try to blockade them in Yong Mien Pass, then assualt them with RPG's. Most unfortunately, some of the tanks did perish, resulting in 15 dead, 20 critical, and 30 seriously wounded. As for the Communalist Eagle Brigade, they suffered a great loss due to the valiant efforts of Corporal Radar O'Mally, whom single handedly wiped out a majority of their numbers by destorying Iron Face Mountain (where the major troops were stationed).

"Sir!" he said.

Willarn Dee started to wipe the blood off his sleeve, the gun still held in his right arm. He did not look up to the trembling guard; simply on his stained jacket. After some moments had passed, he gave up on his task, and holstered his weapon.

"You know the drill" he stated, stalking out of the room.

The guard did not follow him as he left. Instead he stood standing for five minutes, then turned to the corpse. The guard shook his head, rolling his eyes, then bent down to do his task.

...Elements of the 4th Armored Division and the 6th District Guards engaged the enemy near the town of Village Rock today. Casulities are reported to be in the three digits due to the fierce fighting the rebels gave, aided by a brainwashed citizenry of irregular forces. Towards the end of the battle, elements of the Frenchfors Wing were called to provide assistance in driving back the enemy offensive that threatened the position of those two units. Further information has detailed that a major arial offensive will be undertaken on the city of Yemening and Yemini, who clearly seem to defy the very cost of harboring enemy fighters. ...Earlier today the city of Slanderdon was pilliaged due to a failed attemp in recruiting the population against the stationed 4th and 5th Reserve Guard Divisions nearby. Recent estimates of this sacking are about 150 dead, 200 critically wounded, 250 seriously wounded, and 270 wounded. Physical damage could not be tallied up due to the heavy infighting the Slanderdon militia had against the enemy as well as other fighting that happened in that area.

As for the 4th and 5th District Guard Divisions, they will be formally merged into the Sladerdon Lancer Division, and also given the Medal of Honor. Willarn Dee got assassinated, much of the Zhang Tao rebels surrendered and military law was revoked. Next Time when I post, it will be approximately 2 NS years later with much of the countryside reconstructed (as well as governmental structure and the ilk).

The three C-17s sat alone on the tarmac. As the last foriegn units out of the nation of Kay Son, members of the Ferratian 94th airborne walked up the open ramp on the back of two aircraft. Into the other, wooden boxes draped with the flag of Ferratus were loaded. Of two hundered deployed to Kay Son, 178 will return. 22 were killed in action, answering the call of duty. They died assisting a nation to protect its citizens. All those who died have been posthumously awarded the Golden Helix for their selfless service to protect the rights of others.

As the country of Kay Son returns to a peaceful state, the 94th airborne is no longer neccesary. They may have played a relatively small part in this conflict, but they will be rememberd by the citizens of Kay Son who they helped protect.

...Willarn Dee is dead. By the official statement by the Prime Minister's office, he was killed due to a raid by SecForces within the sprawling complexes of T'sing T'sao. The raid did come with some casulties but the effect was unanimous. All standing units of the Zhang Tao terrorist movement surrended within a week of the report; with only a handfull actually proving some resistance against the military forces.

As for those whom surrendered, Prime Minister Ellington Duke has decreed that each man will be subject to a due course of the law will be tried accordingly to their crime. Those prisoners who were of an administrative level will be tried in military courts. Executions of those found guilty will be killed in public within the many metropolises of the Penninsula to mark the severity of their crimes.

However, that is not the only change that Prime Minister Ellington Duke has within the Republic. Prime Minister Ellington Duke has stated that within one (NS) month's time, military jurisdiction will be rolled back in lieu of the civilian government, mainly due to the perchance of another terrorist strike. Within that period, he has pledged to reform the military into a "mobile force capabile of squashing any terrorist threat that soils our shores", streamlining the district government to "prevent any extremist gaining power", and to "strip the possibility of the Penninsula of becoming their own". It is the latter suggestion that has been shown the most popular with the Penninsula being renamed as the "Ellington Military District".

Today military law was rescinded throughout the nation with the exception of the Ellington Military District. Both the House of Commons and the House of Lords are busily re-writing a 'new' consitution in which attends to the possibility of terrorist strikes and the complications of military law. There has been some rumor that a significant portion of the Kanabian Treaty will be adopted into this new consitution, thereby shortening the time needed to draft and approve of this consitution.

The reader should also be notified of the major changes within the political party system. The 20 some odd seats that were once controlled by the Socialists pre-conflict are now occupied by the Green Party, who have successfully absorbed what is left of the Socialist members. The Praetorian Party has suficiently gained control of both Houses due to it's conduct during the Conflict with both the Independents and the Conservatives appealing to ally with this new Bloc.

There is also the military itself. Throughout the Interreguem, Prime Minister Ellington Duke put forth the idea of introducing the 'brigade' unit in order to fully incorporate the District Guard, City Militas, and various other volunteer units within the military structure. However, this has been proven a logistical nightmare due to the individualistic nature of each divisions within the PLA itself- not to mention the other forces. Therefore, Prime Minister Ellington Duke has convened a 'think tank' to go over those proposals and the effective possibilities that they pose.

This appointment is a landmark in PRKS's history mainly due to Lin Pak's previous term as Prime Minister post-Revolution and the first woman to assume that post. Her appointment is just one out of the many candidates of PM Ellington Duke's cabinet that poses a contrasting view of the Praetorian Party.
