"Today is a wonderful day in the history of our nation and a wonderful day in the history of the world. It is on this day that the Allied Confederated States announces that it has plans to endeavor for the benefit of humanity by exploring space and working togethor with any nation that wishes to to become a partner in our exploration of the stars
It is with great joy that I have the privalage of showing to you-the peoples of the world-our new Confederate I rocket system, the rocket that shall take us into orbit. A fine modern vessel she is, and one that benefits not only use but all of mankind with what we learn in space. At this time I shall increase funding of the space program to two trillion dollars, 5% of our budget, (OOC: using the thirdgeek calculator (http://www.thirdgeek.com/nseconomy.php?region=the_great_plain&nation=fluffywuffy)) and vow that within five years our great nation will have the expertise to land a man on the Moon.
Again, in this peaceful project we call upon any nation that wishes to to join in this project-even those of our enemies-to promote peace and endeavor to explore the stars once again. We shall publically televise these events for the world to see and shall inform the world of each success or failure that we make, and we hope not only to go to the Moon but also to Mars, further down the line.
