Whittier

Today Secretary General Brezhnekov has ordered the activation of the 12, 25th, 1st 2nd, and 75th Reserves and the National Guard units of the various socialist states within the Union of People's Republics to full active duty status in preparation for deployment to war.
Brezhnekov:
For the first time a nation that has chosen to voluntarily disarm, Esam, was illegally and ruthlessly invaded by a much bigger and more powerful nation.
This aggression must not stand. Neither I, nor the people of Whittier want war. We would prefer a peaceful and diplomatic resolution to this conflict.
While the world seeks a peaceful settlement, Rotovia has threatened to sink other nation's ships in international waters. Indeed, Rotovia continues to seeks means of circumventing the sanctions and the arms embargo imposed on it. Our intelligence agency in now busy trying to corroborate whether there is any truth to a recent report (passed to me by telegram) that Rotovia's leadership is seeking weapons of mass destruction, including thermo nulcear weapons and chemo bio weapons to use against the world.
Whittier is seeking assistance in verifying these reports if any one has such information.
I speak to you from FWS territory. I applaud FWS' efforts at helping to negotiatie a peaceful settlement to this crises and peaceful withdrawal of Rotovian forces from Esam. However, Rotovia has been using the peace talks to stall for time to send more Rotovian troops and arms to Esam.
I have already warned Rotovia to stop using the talks as a stalling tactic.
We call on nations with borders with Rotovia to close those borders to all trade. And I have warned the government of Ryanania not to be shipping arms to Rotovia that would threaten the lives of coalition troops. And we are keeping an eye on suspicious shipments from Ryanania to the Rotovia.
We note with regret, that Ryanania has endorsed Rotovia's invasion of a tiny unarmed nation. For this reason, we rightly view with suspicion Ryanania's actions in this area.
I regret that as there is no hope for peace at this time, I am forced to activate both the National Guard and the reserves. However, I still hold out the hope of a peaceful settlement.
I note telegrams stating that the UPR could eliminate the nation of Rotovia by itself. But Whittier believes in multi-lateralism and consensus building, not unilateralism. We for one, have seen the failings of unilateralism first hand. 23 nations are now standing shoulder to shoulder against Rotovian aggression.
Over 500 coalition ships are in the eastern mediterranean and the Aegean enforcing an arms embargoe against the Rotovian government.
Still we hold out hope that peace will prevail. Let history record that the international community is bending over backward to give Rotovia a chance to back out of position of occupying another nation illegally. That we are bending over backward trying not to resolve this by sending armed forces onto to Rotovian territory to force them out of Esam.
Unfortunately, Rotovia has responded to overtures of peace by making threats of war. Therefore, while I prefer peace, I am forced to prepare for war.
If any nation has influence with Rotovia, I call upon them to use their influence to persuade Rotovia to avoid armed conflict and peacefully withdraw from Esam.
Meantime, I deploying the 12th, 13th, 85th, 24th and 18th airwings to airbases of allied nations in the same region as Rotovia. This deployment is done at the invitation of our allies.
It is my prayer that this issue will be peacefully resolved.
May god bless our nation and our allies.
Good night.
