*A protest in JRV by conservative Christians over the legalization of public nudity was crushed by security forces - edgy after the recent terrorist attack. Persons were arrested for such things as yelling insults to security officers and politicians, getting in the way of motorists, and gathering to many people in one spot. There was a bit of violence, with a few people getting dragged away struggling and shots were fired in the air by the security forces.*
*The Foreign Ministry insisted that this was much different than other protests which had been crushed and JRV had spoken out against.*
"Nobody was killed for one thing. For a second, these people have a right to their views and the government respects that. We also respect their rights to air those views. But disrupting peak hour traffic, scarring law abiding citizens and gathering far too many in one spot simply will not be tolerated."
