--VXN Military Report--

In a move to improve the power of their land forces, SAVX and Witzgall, with the assistance of SAVX-based Krimson Corporation, have begun a development program to produce a new line of mega war machines: Titan mechs. The eventual goal of this program is Project "City-Razer," in which the intention to design massive mechanized walkers with enough firepower to easily level cities, bases, and masses of enemies, as well as enough armor to easily resist any weaker weapons and most other weapons.

Another program, Project "Sasquatch," is currently in the works with the goal to produce smaller versions for more speedy tactical combat. Perfection with these should give our development teams the experience needed to produce better mechs in "City-Razer."

The program was pushed by various pro-military members of the SAVX senate, as well as numerous generals close to Führer Hans Müller, and he authorized the program. The Witzgallian Council of Generals voted unanimously to go through with the program, and it was authorized by Dictator Frederick Afilia. The governments worked out a contract with Krimson Corporation to do the actual development, with the high-ranking military officials from both nations heavily involved to attain the desired results. CEO Dral Miskar of Krimson Corp. stated that "this new program will do wonders for the jobs of our nations and bring both militaries up to par with their goals." Government officials declined to comment.

The eventual cost is estimated to run into at least the hundreds of billions (USD), but officials interviewed said they felt it would be well worth it.

As of now, Dictator Afilia is unable to be reached for comment due to the treat of war against Sephrioth. However, General Robert Hur, Commander of the Special Forces, was caught leaving the dictator's office. He had this to say:

Q: Do you think the project is worth the money:
"Err...yeah, I think this project is worth it. Hell yeah..."
What about the economical damage?
"Huh? No comment?"
Do you feel this plan will be successful?
"I don't know. I can't predict the future."

The Council of Generals met yesterday to begin discussing what corporations inside Witzgall to employ in order to develop the weapons systems for the Titans. 60% of the council voted for Death Templar Dependable Products, a large Witzgallian corporation that develops missiles and other weaponry; DTDP mainly designs weapons for air, but they also are great in ground weaponry design. The other 40% of the council was split evenly: 20% for Unknown Soldiers, Witzgall's tank developer, and 20% for Kimmel Technologies, a weaponry design company.

Dictator Frederick Afilia announced that all companies will split the project, and will begin immediatly on the Titan development project. Witzgall's government is setting up silo's, hangars, and other facilities in two cities in Witzgall: The Red City and Pepriu.

Witzgall's Council of Generals will begin recruiting highly specialized scientists to begin work on the projects shortly.

Preliminary designs for various weapons systems and power systems have been completed. Micro Fusion Reactors are being designed to power the Titans. City-Razer class Titans will use a currently classified form of reactor designed by Krimson. Syntec, in a surprise move, won the bid to construct the smaller reactors for the Sasquatch class Titans.

Weapons systems currently in the works include Laser cannons, Gattling Autocannons, Toxin Cannons, and Railguns. Other systems are being kept under tight wraps until further notice.

In an early meeting with the Council of Generals, whom half of which are suddenly gone, Frederick Afilia gave a copy of the following document to the press:

OFFICIAL WEAPONRY SYSTEMS FOR TITAN PROJECT

City-Razer Class:

5,000mm Laser Cannon
1,000mm Ion Cannon
120mm Gattling Autocannon
Defiler Toxin Cannon (Aurix-221, Z2, VX, Deviator)
70mm Railgun
Comet Cannon (Neutron shells)
FLAK Mk. II & AAFM Systems
Radcannons
Cruise Launchers

Sasquatch Class:

90mm Gattling Autocannon
Pheonix Flame Cannon
Defiler Toxin Cannon (same as above)
10mm Railgun
600mm Lascannon
150mm Conventional Cannon
Mega Claw
Power Tail

Both:

Buzzer AA Missiles

Many reporters were stunned at the devastation this project could cause. After the report's printing in Witzgall Times, many war protesters appeared in front of The Council Of Generals' building.

The National Protectorate Service quickly ended this when they showed up in large tanks and were heavily armed with railguns.

Progress has been made on the Sasquatch-class Titan project, and a working prototype is in the works. Testing will commence soon after it is completed, which is expected to occur within a few months.

In response to the release of this information, General Irving Ramel held a press conference to answer questions that were on the minds of the public.

Extracted from the Press Conference - Date 7/15/2146

Q: General, what sort of destructive power are we looking at with the well-publicized Sasquatch-class Titan?
A: Well, obviously we don't have any solid data yet, but hypothesized results show something within the ability to take on virtually any enemy unit, even in groups, and succeed. Tests will give a more precise answer.

Q: It is well-known that even these Sasquatch mechs will be able to devastate civilian areas. The implications of the aptly-named City-Razer show that you will be planning to use them for non-military targets. Could you clarfiy this for us?
A: We don't plan on using them against undefended, non-strategic targets. The name City-Razer was choosen on more of a capability-descriptive basis as opposed to actual purpose.

Q: What are the estimated costs for production of both classes of Titans?
A: We have no solid data on that yet, but we're looking at something in the area of several billion USD per Sasquatch and something in the very low trillions for City-Razers. Again, time will tell.

Q: How do you plan to appropriate the funds for not only the projects, but the Titans themselves once the designs are finalized?
A: We have allocated funds from many years of budget surpluses and investment from various sources.

Q: Why do you feel such devices are necessary to have?
A: In a dangerous universe like ours, and many potential enemies building bigger and stronger weapons, we felt that we had do come up with something that would really pack a punch.

Q: What areas of combat do you specifically plan to use these Titans for?
A: Sasquatch-class Titans will be used for most combat roles. They have the power and mobility to do so. City-Razer-class Titans will be used for that and other roles.

The first Sasquatch-class Titan prototype has been completed. Preliminary tests have showed its systems to be up to par. The war machine is equipped with the following:

Classification: Theta Mini-fusion Reactor
Classification: Iota Energy Shielding (Cockpit, Body)
2x 600m Lascannon
2x 150m Conventional Cannon
Ademantium* Armor Plating
Hydraulic-Powered Limbs
ATECS (Automatic Targeting Engagement Combat System) AI
Syntec Mega-Shock Absorption System

Current system statistics:

Height - 65' (19.81m)
Max Width - 34' (10.36m)
Max Speed (All weapon power diverted to legs and shock absorpment) - 60mph (96.56km/h)
Weight - 175 tons (158.76mton)

Work is going to be done on increasing the number of weapons platforms and strengthening the shield systems over the primary soft points before production will begin. Finalizations of the Sasquatch-class Titan is expected to continue for another three months. Once it has been completed, development will commence on the City-Razer-class Titan.

Rather Convenient

While Rather Convenient is not interested in obtaining any of these Mechas, we are interested in the technologies that might possibly be developed in the research of this. Therefore, we would like to contribute in the development of this project, although we don't really need the mechnical walker itself.

We can contribute raw materials, manpower, equipment, money, anything you need - all we ask is that all findings be shared.

*waves hand* Well, just 40K. I've watched Epic played, and I learned about the titans from friends and books.
