The weapons on board the Shivan installations fired onto a nameless cities. Millions would be instantly incinerated. The stations released their micro missiles and the fell silently towards the planets surface.

The lucifer in orbit over the planetreceived the command to begin the bombardment of CamIII it targeted a nameles city and fired on it. A powerful beam of energy shot out and leveled the city thousands had been killed instantly.

IC: The vast subspace engines fitted to the space stations activated creating a huge subspace portal pulling the stations through. However in a twisted act of fate the Cam III ship yards were also pulled through. The Shivans would keep their rightfull prize.

Tearing through a fold in space-time, a Mekantan Hakkensha class Command Probe enters Cam III's star system, monitoring the situation with orders to search for survivors and signal if any hostile forces stand in the away of attempting to rescue any of Cam III's population that may have survived...

The probe waited for the Shivan presence to leave, then started to near the planet.

A moment later, its slave probes were darting around in orbit, occasionally dipping down into the atmosphere.

As soon as it got an affermative signal, the probe relayed a message to Central Command.

"I don't think so. There might be a few million survivors, but the country has effectively been wiped out."
"I'll need to inform the Emperor about this eventuality."

During a conversation between the captain of the ship and Emperor Iain

"Cam III has been virtually wiped out. Imperial Brits is the culprit, and has fled back to their own territory. The planet itself has been severely damaged. The surface is now almost completely molten. "
"This is disturbing news, Admiral. I have also received a message stating that the planet is now Shivan property. It is not theirs. Destroy any Imperial Brit ships you encounter. You will remain in that system for a month, then return to Wolf 359."
"Yes sir. Admiral Fleming out."

After receiving the bad news, Emperor Iain sat thinking and talking the problem through with himself.

"Imperial Brits, hmm... Well, if they are going to attack an ally like that, we'll need to hit back, and hit them hard. Since they are so willing to destroy a planet's crust, they can afford to have their planet wrecked as well."

He called in Moontian's top defence analysts.

"I am sure you have received the same disturbing information I have. The pictures sent along with the message...*shudders*"
"Are we going to strike back for Cam III? We still need to honour our alliance, no matter of how many survivors there are."
"Imperial Brits is a tough nut to crack, but I think that we can deal with them."
"I hope you aren't talking about negotiations. Negotiating with someone who has destroyed a planet's crust... Imagine if they did that to Earth."
"Gentlemen, now is not the time for running around like chooks with heads cut off. Now is the time for resolute action. How many ships do we have to spare?"
"We currently have five hundred Orions and Argos, two hundred and three Raven-eyes, seventy-two Dragorans, and twenty-nine Heronmarks."
"That's a lot of firepower, but how about Flaming Arrows for supplies?"
"There are a lot of spares, with the scouting missions for new worlds completed for the year. If memory serves me, eight hundred and sixty-one Flaming Arrows are ready to go, with another hundred and two in need of repairs."
"That should be enough for what I have planned as a little retribution."
"Sir?"
"Let's just say that those on Imperial Brits will soon find it difficult to breathe."
"What are your orders?"
"Our strike will come in three phases. The first is to break up their defences. The second will arrive in force to annihilate the planet's atmospheric envelope with anti-matter weapons. The third is in reserve, and to cover the retreat back to the Sol system."

The generals were stunned at the audacity of the plan.
"You mean to say that you're going to order the destruction of more than six hundred million people by removing the atmosphere? What's going to happen then?"
"Then comes the fourth phase: repopulating the planet. It will be given to any survivors of Cam III."
"Well, at least there is a plan. It shall be as you say."
"You're dismissed."

Five hours later, the fleet left the Solar system by hyperdrive and organised themselves into formation. Three hundred Orions, two hundred Argos, seventy-two Raven-eyes, thirty Dragorans, and eight Heronmarks formed the first wave.

After a relatively short trip, the first wave arrived at Imperial Brits' home system, and scouted around for enemy ships.

OOC: Orions and Argos are fighters, Raven-eyes are frigates, Dragorans are destroyers, and Heronmarks are battleships.

Your actions against our ally have been noted with disdain. Because your nation has destroyed a planet's crust, along with practically everything on it, vengeance shall be swift and brutal. Your homeworld's atmosphere will be destroyed, along with all vessels that do not surrender to us within the next three hours. If you choose to resist, not a single one of you will survive.

The people of this planetary system have committed acts of extreme destruction against my ally Cam III, namely the entire crust was destroyed. Because of this, the planet will be depopulated. If you are a friend of the people of this system, you may surrender, leave, or die.

In the loosest term possible. Nomadic like genghis Khan. He didn't have a permament home, but he still had enough firepower (yes, this phrase doesn't work when you consider he was alive during the medieval period, but I don't care.) to conquer the entire world. IB hardly has the power to conquer the universe, but it's a loose analogy.

also, wander is the wrong word. It implies that they leave the rest behind. They take it, and strip mine the hell out of the lot before they leave. Shivan space is absolutely empty. There is nothing there, because it is mined for their warships. It's still their absolute nothingness though.

you can get to subspace. It's just like hyperspace, only freespace tech. It's not a mystery universe only they can get to. Ask Klonor. I'm pretty sure he still uses it to get around, maybe he can get you set with some drives?

Besides. All IB is doing is playing the eternal space tech bad guy, you know, where you all team up and push him back, then later he returns? It's not as if he ruins the game, in fact, he would prevent it stagnating, by always being around to take advantage of your weakness. Just be thankful no-one accepts Culture tech, or I would rule the universe already.

Exactly. Once you have the engine, you can get into subspace. Given that he is the only person who uses subspace as a base though, it won't be easy... But that's hardly his fault, is it? (I can't believe so many people are unfamiliar with subspace! It's been a staple of sci-fi, well, forever.)

yes, but subspace must be a lot smaller than the real universe, or the speed of light must be higher, to allow you to move through there to a destination in real space less time than in real space. Logically, either way, it'll be easier to find him. (Also, look for the Shivan energy source. It should be the only energy source there.)

"Take the fleet into the star's corona. From there, we should be fairly undetectable, and able to ambush anyone who comes by."

OOC: Some info on my system. There are 4 planets, Prospero (Destroyed), Prospero 2, Prospero 3 and Prospero 4. The inhabitants are Cam III (Relocated for the moment), Crepes, Settra the great and Prospero 4.

The species are called Huskarls, they look like lizerds. The Reptilians resemble a cross between several Terran lizards. Reptilians have yellow colored scales instead of skin with multiple spikes coming out of their heads. They have yellow eyes with Terran cat-like pupils. Like all Terran reptiles, they are cold blooded. They have characteristic ridges on their cheek bones.
Reptilian weapons use eel-like power cells. They work on a rotating modulation that self-destructs if caught by other species. The Reptilians are the species of Huskarls that seemed to be most interested in destroying Imperial Brits. The Reptilians live out a militaristic lifestyle and hope to ultimately rule over all the other species of Huskarls. Reptilian soldiers are surgically implanted with a "suicide gland" that unleases a neurotoxin when they are captured

A few corrections...

There are several types of Subspace, the Freespace type/Startrek type (used for communication and travel) and Subspace pockets.

You're wrong about Imperial Brits or the other Shivan nations being the only ones. Mekanta lies inside a Subspace pocket. In some ways, I actually might outclass the Shivans in subspace physics. ^_^


Oh, yes, and I may be planning to try forging an alliance/mutual non-agression pact with Imperial Brits, but BUMP for more to see that they're bastards. ^_^
