The economy of West Moon has officially collapsed, govt. officials here say.
West Moon recently reported a per capita of just GDP Per Capita: $175.51

The government does not have enough funds to adequately update its space fleet.
And the government is now seeking international assistance.
The government has opened the borders for its people to leave for earth for the first time without requiring them to have permits.
Meantime, millions of West Moonians are starving.

Well it seems that you have forgotten the IMF! There is the International Monetary Fund (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3250821#3250821) which upon joining will grant any nation any concievable amount of financial support. We have trillions in the World Bank.

In an attempt to rebuild the economy, West Moon in now engaged in reforms and restructuring of the economy.

Reforms being undertaken:

Ever since the government banned automobiles, furious soccer moms and commuters have been petitioning the government to revoke the ban, citing any number of troubles people have had without their cars.
Reform: "Well, it's extremely difficult to drive my son to and from school and his after-school sports." comments soccer mom Buffy Mombota. "But I don't want my boy inhaling all those icky fumes. I say bring back cars, but put some effort into finding cleaner fuels and the like! Who cares if it costs a small fortune?"

This huge pay cut was the only way we could continue to pay these troops.

It is hoped that these reforms will positively affect the economy.

West Moon is pleased to announce reforms are working as the national per capita has jumped from barely $177 to $4,361.00.
The Premiere believes this is the result of the Duma passing his reform legislation package.

The Federation of Winterbane will give West Moon tariff-free market access until the economy has gotten back on track.

We have also been able to come up with 3 billion $ which will be transferred as soon as our Ministry of Foreign Affairs receives account information.
