The Esamian Royal Council has agreed to fund and give tax-exempt status to an independent international aid organization, the Red Crown, that shall be trained and equipped to deal with natural disasters, such as hurricanes and floods, as well as deal humanitarian assistance in areas under a secure cease-fire.
The organization will be headed by members of the Esamian government for the next few years, until the organization secures independent funding, likely to come from direct private donations, and thus Esamopian government funding will likely be reduced, paving the way for independent heads with no government attachments.
The interim head of the organization, High Councillor Jabbar Al-Mahdi, who is also the head of the newly created Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, has expressed hopes that the Red Crown will be able to operate at full strength in a matter of months.
