Although I applaud your courageousness in standing up to the evils of war and death, I am a little concerned that you have taken away all means of defending yourself. In what is being termed a state of "limited emergency and civil disturbance" by the Minister for Humanitarian Affairs, a contingent of five score troops from the First Military Police (OOC: the "peacekeepers") were called in to detain a foreign agent believed to be working for the Mestionian government. Local law enforcement officials, without any weapons and reluctant to apprehend the armed suspect, called upon the nearby troops whose original intention was peackeeping operations.

It leaves the nation in some ways similar to Chivikistan, which has not and has never previously had any armed forces what so ever, though weapons are not strictly speaking banned, as Chivikistanis do not tend to believe that anyone has the right to deny others... anything. Of course, the concept of private property being quite alien, it is unclear whether there are in Chivikistan any dedicated weapons, and if so in whose possession they may be.

Administrator Penton advises the abolition of currency in Esam as a means to resisting corruption and competition, and as such the rivalry that might lead to violence, as well as one of the primary means by which citizens may acquire arms from the aggressive world at large. Blackmarket weapons could not be sold in Chivikistan, in the conventional manner, as Chivikistanis can't pay for them in cash, nor do they individually control assets or resources that may be bartered.

Others have suggested that the people of Esam [blank] like bunnies, as is the style currently in Chivikistan, so that they may be sheer weight of numbers deter invasion- no one wants to administer 1.85 billion Chivikistanis, not even the 20-odd million of them called Administrator.
