News Dispatch from Xaniqall

Around noon today, 50 members of Xaniqall's Inter Tribal Militia stormed into the headquarters of the Al-Shi'ke Movement within the capital. A fire fight erupted within the building, leaving 40 of the ITM forces dead, and an undetermined number of Al-Shi'ke members. They fled the area, detonating a large weapons cache in the building and causing damage to several surrounding buildings.

The ITM has begun to seek out Al-Shi'ke training camps and hiding areas, although is facing some difficulty. Hit and run attacks on military targets have begun, and Al-Shi'ke elements within the ITM have started to cause a great deal of damage. At least 20 officers have already been killed, and a lot of equipment sabotaged.

The Al-Shi'ke Movement also issued the following:
At the urging of the foreign jingoists in West Pacific, Xaniq tribal leaders have declared a war against their own people. This can not be tolerated. We urge for the immediate resistance of all free Xaniq peoples to the tribal council, ours has already begun. We will continue our struggle at home and abroad. We also welcome any who would support our aims and give us asylum from the treachery of our own people. Hasta la victoria siempre!

Immediately following the release of the communique, 5-7 people stormed into the residence of one of the most anti-Al-shi'ke members of the council, and executed everyone in the home, including the councilman.

News Update

With the assassination of two more members of the council, most important members of the Tribal League have gone into hiding. The Al-Shi'ke have also stepped up a campaign of terror within the capital, bombing key buildings for the government and the arms industry. A foreign bank was also stormed, and everyone inside executed before the building was set on fire.

Troops have moved into the desert to find Al-Shi'ke training camps, and have met heavy resistance there as well. The guerillas are believed to not just be Al-Shi'ke members, but also partisans from the various tribes that recently expressed distaste with the council, and some hardline members of the Al-Fatah movement as well.

The platform of the Al-Shi'ke Movement is:

-Establishment of a Islamic Communist soviet state
-Full economic controls and redistribution of wealth and land
-Increase the spread of revolutionary Islam and communism
-Increased industrialization

----------------------------------------------------

Today, the Furri and Suiuf tribes of Xaniqall have pulled out of the Inter Tribal government and declared autonomy. Military units from these tribes serving in the ITM have mutinied and several battles have broken out because of this, with the ITM attempting to regain control. The Al-Shi'ke used this to there advantage, and began to attack ITM outfits, adding to the confusion. Thousands are believed to be dead.

Within the capital itself, Al-Fatahin seized several key government buildings and took all employees hostage. They've issued a demand for the war against the Al-Shi'ke to stop, prompting the following statement from what is left of the Inter Tribal Government:

[code:1:baa6046cf3]We are dedicated to stopping terrorism and terrorist groups within our nation. Those who have abandoned us to pursue their own aims will be dealt with no differently than those actively fighting us. We have the people of Xaniqall behind us, and we must stand together in this time of trouble. We will not back down and we will not negotiate.[/code:1:baa6046cf3]

When questioned, one tribeswoman felt that the government was becoming increasingly seperated from the will of the people, saying that, "Most Xaniq's support the actions of the so-called terrorists." She declined to give her name.

The situation here seems to be rapidly deteorating, with the country now on the verge of civil war.

The Greater British Empire of Rufai approves of actions taken by Xaniquall. We are highyl skilled in dealing with terrorism and Premier Rufai wishes to send a detachment of elite Rdk Anti-Terror troops to set up a temporary military base from where we can conduct operations to neutralise terrorist targets working alongside Xaniquall troops.

Also, we have reason to believe that several terrorist suspects from the GBER are hiding in Xaniquall at this time.

The government of Xaniqall would gladly welcome your troops, Rufai.

------------------------------------------

Within the past few hours, most of the tribes in Xaniqall except the Ja'Sadr and a few other smaller groups from other tribes have denounced the elected government. Recall efforts on tribal representatives have failed, and they have declared a state of martial law, giving them supreme powers. This clearly violates the charter of Xaniqall, and thousands took to the streets of the capital in protest. When ITM soldiers were ordered to fire on them, they refused. In the outer areas, ITM troops have been ordered to attack the rebelling tribes, but many refused there as well. Large portions of the army are in revolt and refuse to fight their own people. The Al-Shi'ke have stepped up attacks, and Al-Shi'ke and Al-Fatah operatives have been moving in large numbers toward the capital, in order to seize control from the government.

At this time, the government of Xaniqall requests assistance from any nation willing to offer it.

From the Office of the Leader of West Pacific.

The Leader, Drucker, can be seen sitting behind his desk, with the Flag of West Pacific behind and to his right, and a seal of the Leader of West Pacific can be seen on the front of the desk.

People of West Pacific, as you may recall, 186 people were killed several months ago in a terrorist bombing that was intended to kill me. The Al Shi'ke terrorist movement was responsible for the bombing. We invaded Xaniqall and layed siege to their capital, United Arabia threatened to counter attack against our forces, fearing a large scal war we withdrew, we requested that Xaniqall finished what we started and that they attack Al Shi'ke while they were weak, they have done this, unfortunately Al Shi'ke was much stronger than we anticipated, the price on Xaniqall has been high. I feel responsible for what is giong on in Xaniqall right now since I was the one who insisted that they attack Al Shi'ke. Today I sign order #279, from this day on till the destruction of Al Shi'ke we will give 1.79 Billion USD a day (RL) to the government of Al Shi'ke. We will also send our forces back into Xaniqall upon the request of the ITM there. The death of the thousands of Xaniqall soldiers falls on our hands, we are responsible, we mush help as we can. As many as 197,000 troops may be dispatched to Xaniqall, we will make sure that Al Shi'ke exist no more and that peace is once again restored to Xaniqall. If Xaniqall shall fall to the terrorist I shall resign as Leader of West Pacific, this is a devil of my making, I should be the one to pay the consequences. I must stress that this will not be a short war, we are talking about a guerilla war against a hardened enemy, one that knows the terrain well. Thank you, and good night.

Dispatch from the Xaniq Junta

In light of recent treason from several council members, and the death of others, we have declared a state of emergency and martial law within all of Xaniqall, and appointed ourselves (4 remaining council members) head of a new military junta. We will restore peace to this land, whatever the cost.

We gladly welcome troops from West Pacific and Rufai. You may come and go as you please, and move troops at your own discretion. However, if the need arises, we request that your troops be able to work with the newly formed Xaniq National Military (made up of those who remained loyal to us).

Currently, the capital is under seige from Al-Fatah and Al-Shi'ke guerrillas, and there have been a multitude of terrorist attacks and violent riots within the city, but our forces are still holding out. Their forces number roughly 30,000 and ours about 20,000. There are also a number of ex-ITM brigades spread about the country numbering near 1 million total.

The troops have landed on the South East coast of Xaniqall, hearing that the capital is under siege we have dispatched planes from our carrier to start attacking the forces laying siege to the city. The 4th Heany Infantry division, 17th Mobile Armor Division, and 57th Howitzers will be heading straight towards the capital in hopes of eding the siege as quickly as possible with minumum civilian loss of life. They will however be moving some what slowly with 30 Abrams in the lead, 25 taking up the rear, and the rest of the tanks will be dispersed within the column to protect the column, which will be about 4 miles long, and planes from the carrier will be running recon ahead of the column and covering them from the air. Once the siege to the city has ended the 122nd and 135th Fighter Wings will be flown in to provide further air support.

Each council member will have an escort of 4 Abrams and 6 Bradley Fighting vehicles to protect them as they travel. We intend to protect them at all costs, even if it means bringing in more troops, we will see that Al Shi'ke and now Al-Fatah are destroyed. That is the position of this government and are our orders from the Leader himself.

The large majority of RdK troops were replaced, due to the seriousness of the situation in Xaniquall, with frontline GBER army troops. These infantry are equipped with Layna (GBER made) assault rifles, with the option of extra scope or grenade launcher.

1st, 2nd and 3rd Heavy Infantry divisions are now ready in Xaniquall, along with the 37th Mobile Armor division.

The HMS Saracen, a aircraft carrier, is currently offshore containing large numbers of Thundercat fighters and Blade bombers. Both these aircraft are capable of making surgical strikes against buildings. Cruise missiles are also hand.

Do we have any details on known terrorists?
Ferratus
08-06-2004, 10:32
The nation of Ferratus will gladly offer military assistance to the ITM if it is requested. We are able to send the 1st and 2nd Infantry divisions, II Corps almost immediately. These divisions consist of approximately 6,500 soldiers supported by Humvees. The elite 94th airborne is also on a permanent standby and is able to drop almost anywhere in the world within 72 hours. We could send 200-400 airborne infantry. If needed, the 7th armored could be pulled from training exercises and deployed to Xaniqall relatively quickly.

Members of Ferratus's elite Phoenix Guard, specializing in VIP protection, assassination, espionage, and other cover operations are also availible for quick deployment.

Latest News From Xaniqall:

With the arrival of troops from Rufai and West Pacific, the seige of Xaniqall's capital has ended, leaving 15,000 terrorists dead and 5,000 captured. The capital has come under strict occupation, with military patrols in the streets. These come under occasional fire, but overall the citizens don't seem to mind.

The terrorists and the ex-ITM traitors have regrouped in the southeast of the country, within the Furri and Suiuf tribal borders. These tribes have declared an autonomous zone, and several other tribal groups in the area have pledged support to the insurgents.

The number of vehicles lost will not be disclosed at the present time.

2nd and 3rd Heavy Infantry along with 37th Mobile Armour have moved to encircle Furri and Suiuf territory. After the bombardments we shall commence attacks.

Xaniq troops are ready to move out whenever our comrades are. We feel it would be best for your superior forces, and armored vehicles, to lead the way, with our infantry taking up the rear. The journey across the desert may take a few days, 2-3 at most, so be prepared. The desert will also be crawling with terrorists, no doubt.

10-06-2004, 23:18
Air support from the HMS Saracen will support the troops moving through the desert. I suggest as soon as our full strength is gathered we move out. With constant airstrikes against the terrorists base, we can diminish their attack capabilities.

Warkat Support vehicles will be sending supplies and anything needed while the troops are in the desert. They are equipped with sand filters so they are very tough and they have lots of space, and are armed with machine guns and a crew of 6.

Our troops have been alerted to terrorist ambushes in the desert. Sniper troops will be riding in vehicles and mixing with other troops. Air support can be called quickly and effectively.

Our attack will start in three days (RL), bombardment from the 57th Howitzers started early this afternoon, we will be moving in from the North in a fast, shock attack, the tanks will be moving fast, right behing the bombs dropped by air craft flying overhead, the Bradleys will follow up the tanks, hitting any terrorist that try to hit the tanks from behind, the Humvees will follow taking up the rear and collecting prisoners into temporary holding camps, until Xaniqall troops will be able to relieve them and take over for care of the prisoners.
Rufai
11-06-2004, 00:26
Artillery bombardment from GBER troops shall start at 0600 hours tomorrow morning. In the initial attack from West Pacific, we will wait approximately 24 hours for troops to be drawn off, and then, we invade from the east. Our Stalker tanks will lead the charge, getting out from the desert as quickly as possible and heading to populated areas. We will then eliminate hostiles in the immediate area and secure the area with Stalker assault vehicles. More tanks will be sent up to "leapfrog" the original tanks, and air support will strike at any known terrorist positions. We will then proceed to other populated areas, making a "town-hop" movement. The infantry will move up and then install new artillery and bases and prepare for the final assault on the terrorist bases.

We aim to neutralise quickly, and expect little prisoner numbers.

The terrorists questioned in Rufai Command in Xaniquall has reported the terrorists have all been executed after they were questioned. Reports say that there were very important facts in the answers.

The Stalker tanks have led a speedy charge through the desert, like not seen since the days of Hitler's Blitzkrieg. Little losses have been made, as most troops were involved in the counter-attack against WP troops. Several key towns have beebn captured, and we have encountered little resistance. Recon planes sent ahead over terrorist positions have sent reports of a huge buildup of Suiuf and Furri troops. Several planes have ben brought down by SAM missiles and AA fire. Artillery is being brought forward to hamper enemy efforts. Support vehicles and infantry carriers have been sent to the frontline to hold out against an enemy counter-attack.
