As a sign of our new found friendship, the governments of Smithsilian and Jarridia have agreed to begin a new project to bring our countries much closer together. The SJMDI, or Smithso-Jarridian Mutual Defense Initiative, will be an ongoing project that will encompass not only military support, but also free and open trade.
As many of you know, our two nations have not always been friendly. Four, almost five, wars have been fought and the border between our nations has been ravaged many times. This new venture will ensure that this kind of hateful activity between our nations never happens again.
At this time, I am announcing that all barriers blocking trade between Jarridia and Smithsilian is over. Free trade, and travel between us will reign and prosper. Over the next few months, our governments will work closely together to find the most efficient way to aid one another in time of crisis, but still hold our own unique identities. Basically the two nations are merging in the name of peace, but will be their own sovereign states. Our militaries will remain separate, but given easy access in national emergency.
Over the next few years, the two nations will be working on the creation of a Space Agency and the progression of our people into the beyond.
Also, due to her majesty's close proximity to our nations, the Queen of Utcheer has also joined in on this endeavor.
Once again, the Jarridian motto of "Peace and Prosperity for all" rings true. Even though this is an endeavor done by 3 nations, it still brings comfort and peace to the world.
