Reporter on scene: "It is complete pandemonium here - right behind me you can see the security forces in action - apparently trying to calm down citizens. We are told the person responsible was shot dead immediately, the security forces will not comment on his identity yet."

State Television News: "It is official - President Donald Norman Brash has been shot dead. Repeat, the President has been shot dead. Reports are that a lone gunmen opened fire from a crowd as the President's motorcade passed through the city of Victoria. The President who was ridding in an open roof car, we understand, was rushed to Victoria Memorial Hospital but died just minutes ago. An official state of emergency has been declared."
