In what is seen as a shock, the Free Socialist Party candiate for President, Robert Gustav, took an amazing lead in the Presidential election, with 60% of the vote going to him in the pre-election. With a massive campaigning blitz against socialism, the Democratic Libertarians pulled way ahead of the Socialists, gaining a full 55% of the vote, with Socialists taking 25%, and the rest of the vote being split between the more authoritive parties.
Robert Stuart has been elected President of the Allied Confederated States with all of the 976 million votes being counted. In a similar disposition, the Conclave sector of the Democratic Council has become dominated by the Liberatarian party, however, the Union house is dominated by the Socialist party, with the other parties filling in behind the Socialists and Libertarians.
In what is seen as a logical choice, the Imperialist Party and Union of Fascists have joined together into one party, the Imperialist-Fascist Harmony, with 15% of the Presidential vote for them, and 10 for the Conservative party.
Robert Stuart was sworn in on the steps of the Imperial Palace-for tradition's sake-and will take up residence in the Council chambers until a new building is constructed for the President, all agreeing he shouldn't take up his power in the center of Imperial power. He has plans to move the capital to Kalormain, a glittering coastal city. Imperial City will remain as a historical location, with the buildings allowing tours.
Stuart has personaly apologized on behalf of the revolutionaries for the extreme measures taken by them to end Imperial power, and vows to make up for it by portraying the death of the Royal Family in a negative light.
