President Mark Etherton stood silently in front of the screen. Behind him, the Austarian Flag hung neatly and powerfully. The President appeared to stare right through the screen into the eyes of the viewer...
"Children of the Union.... Yesterday, you witnessed the horrors of terrorism, right on our doorstep. Six agents of the terror group known as EFFOC, or Enviromental Freedom Fighters Organised Cells, took hostage 35 citizens of the Austar Union.
Unfortunatly, after negotiations failed, the small office complex erupted into explosion, destroying the entire office which the hostages and terrorists were held. My friends, I deeply grieve for you all for the loss of your family...
The families of those lost have been contacted, and I will be meeting with them personally within the week. Here is a name of all those hostages killed in the blast..."
On the screen, slow sad music begins to play as the following names scroll down the screen, showing a photograph of each one and showing the births and deaths of each person....

Official Statement from The Community of EcoWarriors
The Community of EcoWarriors is outraged by the Austar Union's handling of the situation. Your 'negotiations' didn't fail. Your negotiations were merely a stalling tactic for your FIA teams to screw up a 'rescue'.
We congratulate EFFOC in their attempt to do good for this world, and sincerely hope that your next target has a more intelligent law-enforcement agency to handle the situation.
OOC: Nice RP, both of you. Very well done!

Response to EcoWarriorian Response
We condemn the Community of EcoWarriors for making an idea that it was in fact the plan of the FIA for the negotiations to fail.
The Federal Intelligence Agency has never put any plans into affect that have been purposefully subjecting the lives of any citizens of the Austar Union, and will not ever use such practises in future.
We are outraged that EcoWarriors would even suggest such a thing.

It appeared that way to us, as while your FIA commander was reading the proposal your men were already on the roof, attempting to pump sleeping gas into the building. That much could be seen from the webcam.
It is obvious to us that you had no intention of making concessions. I have assuranced from EFFOC that if you had put in place what you put forward in that report then all of your citizens would have be released unharmed. You picked the wrong option.

Official Reaction (Celtayoshi)
While we regret the needless deaths of so many, including children, and the underhand, cowardly tactics of the EFFOC, we do hope that the Austar Union learns for its mistakes, and next time will take a more appropriate course of action. It is the position of this government that the Austar Union did not mean for its citizens to be harmed, never mind killed, and acted in good faith, with the wrong course of action.

It is always a method of the FIA to attempt all means to diffuse the situation. Our men attempted that, however the terrorist response was negative. However we did not plan for a negative response.
We will no longer comment and answer to EcoWarriors, who have an interest to be biased against the Austar Union. They are in fact, a terrorist organisation themselves similar to the EFFOC, and we will not converse with them.

(AU) National Broadcasting Corporation: NEWS: President Madison meets with the victims families....
------------------------------------------------------------
Today, President James Madison has personally met with the families of the victims of this year's terror attack, expressing his condolounces.
One woman said afterwards, "You know, now that my husband is gone, im not sure what kind of life I want to lead. But it really helps to realise that you have such support behind you. Thankyou, Mr. President..."
One Woman griefs as she thinks about her late husband:

In that case, I can't feel sorry for you.
The website which had posted the now infamous video of the executions and subsequent destruction of the office block has broadcasted another message, this time an 'Official' responce to the Austar Union.
'It has come to our attention that James Madison, President of the Austar Union, has made a responce to the operation carried out in Anatoba. Mr Madison has described EFFOC as 'Terrorists' and has used the deaths of the hostages to futher his own popularity. We urge the citizens of Austar Union, and the International community not to be fooled. We have circulated on the internet the video feed from the siege and the recording of the conversations between the 'White' and the leader of the operation. You will see there, that there is clear evidence of stalling techniques, designed to kill our operatives. We were not fooled. It is the fault of the FIA and of Mr Madison that these people are dead, their fault that the nation greeves. Those of you who lost family, we ask you to ask yourselfs, who is to blame? Us, who would save your country from a slow and painfull death at the hands of industry, or the Goverment, who deliberatly did not make efforts to save your kin?

(AU) National Broadcasting Corporation: NEWS
---------------------------------------------------------------
Today, after the release statement made by the EFFOC, families and the FIA expressed outrage over the comments made by them that the result was the fault of themselves. The leader of operations Barry White had the following to comment:
"I am disgusted that these fools would even dream of blaming us for the deaths of Austarians. Who set the bombs? THEM. Who threatened our citizens? THEM. Who decided to target women and children? THEM.
These infidels have no souls. For now they claim to have unstained hands. To the terrorists, I hope you get crushed under the mighty boot of the Austar Union..."
Some of the families have also expressed outrage toward the terrorist response, but for certain reasons we cannot show any footage here.
In the meantime, President Madison had commented on the issue,
"These terrorists wanted to change an entire national system. Environmentalism is not bad, but when you are given a deadline of hours, it is beyond the question. I dont think that we are going to surcum our entire nation on our knees to just six men who decide to act like children, rather than simple debate.
The way I see it, Barry White used textbook manoevers, and I condemn anyone who says hes a failure. This operation, although lives were lost was a general success. Our goal was to NOT have to change national policy over a matter of hours. Barry did his best, and I recognise his efforts. Though a negative result came of it, the overall mission WAS positive compared to what we didnt want to have to do.
We recognise the need for the environment, and note that the Austar Union has become radically cleaner ever since the green party policies have gained popularity. Whilst it is Evironmentally better to cut industry, it is economic suicide to do so, and until the EFFOC are willing to debate on a humane scale, we will not surcum to their idiocy....
To those who say that Barry White should learn from his mistakes, I tell them to mind their own damn business on how we perform with our national security. You dont know the behind the scenes, and the goals of the operation..."
With that, the President stormed out.
In the meantime, construction has already begun on the site. It is expected to be finished easily within the month...
The official responce was made through the same medium as the first message.
'We are not here to discuss our morals, though we assure you that our's are far more advanced than yours.
We can, however, issue you with a warning. It is now apparant that your goverment had no intention of disarming Austar Unions hugely destructive industrial menace. Therefore EFFOC is now at war with the Austar Union. Expect reprisal attacks against Austar Union's intrests at both home and abroad.'
