FWS Economic Crisis.

03-06-2004, 07:35
Upon hearing that the government had slashed the military budget, as required to by a recent peace agreement, FWS Defense Corporation cut production by 80% and jobs by 65%. Approximately 2 million people were laid off by FWS Defense Corporation. FWS Defense Corporation employed approximately 3.076 million Fascians. Making it the largest employer in FWS.

When FWS Defense Corporation announced the production cuts and layoffs , the FWS Steel Trust Inc closed, about 42% of all Steel Trust Inc steel was purchased by the FWS Defense Corporation.

When FWS Steel Trust Inc closed, the following other companies closed.

FWS Construction Trust Inc.
Rhodes Consolidated Mine Holdings Inc.
FWS Coal Trust Inc.
Fascian Chemistry Inc.
Fascian Carbide Inc.
FWS Iron Trust Inc.

It is estimated that about $200 Billion in cash will be needed to reopen the closed companies... As a result of the recent closings, approximately 8 million Fascians are now unemployed.

FWS Defense Corporation has announced that they may be closing their doors shortly, unless business picks up. If they do close completely, another 1.076 million workers will become unemployed, and that is only the number of Defense Corporation employees, not the number of workers in other companies that will likely be affected by such closings.

5 billion dollars in economic assistance have been sent to FWS.

Hendrik Rhodes has announced that the current crisis must not be allowed to continue. He is therefore giving away $195 billion in cash from his own pocket to solve the crisis. He will also give $10 billion in cash to help those who are unemployed stay on their feet until they are hired back by the companies that laid them off. The economic crisis is expected to end soon due to the rapid injection of large amounts of money into the companies that were on shaky ground.

Ravans Naval Yards Inc has been looking for a new place to set up more shipyards. after carful thought they have decided that after your lastest problem it would be best to move in now.

RNY Inc want to open:

4 Large shipyards
2 Large dry docks

it will be offering over 4-6 million jobs and would also need Steel and such and would provide the perfect reason to reopen FWS ST Inc

FWS economic problems are rapidly disappearing due to the donations from Hendrik Rhodes... But we are a growing nation and we need more jobs for the ever increasing labor force. You may build them, the largest FWS owned Port is called "Port Rhodes". It is in White Western Province about 20 miles north of the Mobuto border. (Give me your email. I'll send you a map)

ewww :)

Nice Keynesian economics. You seem to like to focus on using expansionary fiscal policy to solve your economic problems. You are hoping that injecting money into the circular flow of income will cause a great enough multiplier affect to be able cause a significant increase in demand in order to get firms to employ more workers.

I wouldn't go about it that way. Charlotte, the minister, who is a monetarist economist, would see what the current rate of inflation is before considering what to do about unemployment. Although we do provide a minimal level of welfare to those out of work, we do consider controlling inflation to be much more important than controlling unemployment.

Charlotte's advise to Hendrik Rhodes is that he should use expansionary monetary policy if the FWS inflation rate is very low (i.e. less than 1.5%). However, if your rate of inflation is such that you cannot afford to do this, then you should consider using supply side policies that will encourage new businesses to start up, hopefully increasing productivity and so real GDP.

In order for this to be effective however, you should make sure that your nation's rate of inflation is not too high. If it is high (like over 5%), then Charlotte's advise to Hendrik Rhodes would be to use tight monetary policies, such as raising interest rates or reducing money supply.

In time, the increase in GDP due to effective supply side policies should create wealth, so that consumers have nore money to spend on goods and services. This should then mean that firms will need to employ more workers to produce these goods and services, and so unemployment should fall.

Inflation is virtually non-existent in FWS. We don't agree with the Laffer curve and supply side economics... Well the Laffer curve makes sense, but it can be darn hard to tell where you are on the curve... It is all opinion.

Official FWS government reply from Forrest Rhodes, economic minister and son of President Hendrik Rhodes.

Forrest: "Our economy could not be better... We have no economic issues... Our nation is safe, peaceful, and prosperous."

As he spoke machine gun fire could be heard in the background as police battled rebels.

He is the richest man in FWS... Worth over 800 billion dollars... He owns 12 of the 37 largest companies and has much stock in the others.

Stable... Usually grows... But due to recent unemployment in the defense industry (the number 1 company in the nation is FWS Defense Corporation)... We have some small troubles now.
