Emperor killed-Democracy takes hold

The Emperor, almighty representative of the United Di'Agwan Empire, sat on his thrown in Imperial City, pondering recent developments. His purple robes fluttered in the light breeze comming in through the vast windows, the halls shone with the brilliant light, and the Crown of Stewart sparkling on the brown-haired Emperor. His attendant noticed his thoughful expression and remained quieter than normal.

The Emperor glanced out the window, noticing the smoke that had come from his own capital city, and wondered what it meant. He had not been informed of anything, and he was quite worried. Turning to his page-boy attendant, he asked, "Has there been any news of the town? If not, go and check for me, like a good boy."

"I havent heard anything my self, mi Lord, I shall go and see."

"Thank you, Peter. You have your Emperor's blessing."

The little boy rushed out of the halls, having trouble opening the large double doors in the throne room, but after that he ran fast and ran into no one. THe abscense of anyone made him worried, as many young boys were, about being attacked by monsters. He froze from fear for a slight second, but remembered his Emperor and set to his task.

Looking for the Chief Gaurd, the boy found no one. Not a single person, not a single body, nothing. He rushed to the Palace gates, only to find, to his horror, bloody fighting.

Arrayed before him were two platoons worth of fighting men, and the Palace's Chief Gaurd commanding them.

"Red squad! Move over there! Flank them! Flank them dammit! Blue squad, give covering fire for Yellow squad! Move it dammit, that's a damn order! Yellow and Black squads, move in! Attack!"

The red-faced commander turned to Peter the Page and adressed him seriously. "What is it, boy? Have you come to laugh and play games?" "No mi lord, I come on behalf of the Emperor 'is self. What is going on?" "A revolution in town, the Town Gaurd was overwhelmed by what seems to be our own troops, under the command of Captain Grace. He has a full company, as we do, but he has Imperial Gaurds and the element of surprise. Enough of this! Go talk to the Emperor, I need to tell my men what to do"

The battle was going terribly for the Chief Gaurd; his men went to the wrong place to flank and a stolen heavy machine gun mowed down a whole squad of men, and the attacking sqauds just could not fight well at all. Soon, with his honor on the line, the ordered bayonets fixed and that the men charge to the death. All mean died, with only a handful of dead revoluitionaries.

Meanwhile, the Emperor recieved the news terribly and wondered why he was not informed; he wanted personaly to fight, and fight he would do soon enough. As per sarcred Imperial tradition, the only way to kill the Emperor and retain honor is through a melee battle to the death in one on one combat.

So, the Emperor donned a kevlar vest, through off his cumbersome robes, and grabbed his favorite axe, and a few throwing axes. As he placed his helmet on and grabbed a shield enemy troops burst in.

With no time to react the Emperor was seemingly doomed. But his instincts were that of a fighter, and he, being young yet at 25, grabbed a throwing axe from his belt, easily picking off a revolutionary with a well placed throw to the head. The other men stopped, and the Captain emerged.

Fair haired and fair skinned, the Captain was a man of the ladies and a man of war. His tout muscles were easily visible beneath his thin military shirt-he wore no armor-and his broad shoulders and tall stature belied his natural intelegance and quality of leadership. He towered over the Emperor by over a foot, but the Emperor was undaunted.

"I should have known that it was you who led this. At least you keep to our tradition. You and your lackies have behaved well for common rabble."

"Indeed we have, more so than you and your ignorant tounge. But enough of this, now you fight for the very survial of the Empire and abortion of the Allied Confederated States, and I for the end of the Empire and the beggining of the Allied Confederated States. So the future of both dies or begins here."

The Captain grabbed an old rifle from his back, removed the magazine, fixed the bayonet, and pressed forward. The Emperor stood his ground, dug his feet in, and placed his axe on his shoulder. The Captain advanced and aimed a savage clubbing at the Emperor's head, but the Emperor barely caught the blow with his shield, which he then used to assault the Captain. He placed a blow of his axe at the Captain's chest, though the Captain brought his rifle up to ward the blow.

Both men breathed heavily, the Emperor more so, and they stepped back.

"Not bad for common rabble."

"Not bad for a useless monarch."

The fighting began anew, this time the Emperor pressing the assault, knowing he would lose in a stamina constest. He had to kill him now or it was all over. Trading his battleaxe for a throwing axe helped him some, not wasting much energy lugging the heavy thing in one hand.

Slashing upward at the Captain's neck because he could not reach his head, the Emperor sought his opponent's end. The blow was wared off, to an extent, yet the blow still hit the neck and caused minor bleeding and much bruising. Unrelenting, the Emperor slammed the Captain with his shield, tripped him, and proceeded to try and decapitate him.

The Captain, battlehardened, rolled to the right to dodge the hit and stabbed at the Emperor with his bayonet, cutting deep into the Emperor's hip. The Emperor staggered, nearly fell, and was unable to run, nearly unable to walk.

The Emperor countered this by aiming one hit, with all his energy, at the Captain's chest. Blasting through his defenses, the Emperor cut deep into the man's chest on the right side but neglected his own defense. The Captain took note of this and stabbed the Emperor straight in his heart with his bayonet, and let him have the customary last words.

"So you beat me.......good job.....*cough*....I suppose it ends now, treat the family well..."

"Oh they have already been shown our likes of royalty: they are all dead."

"You shit...you little shit....*spits on the Captain's face*....You will pay, I warn you...."

The Emperor played dead, moving his arm to his side to grab a throwing axe. The Captain disregarded this and turned his back to the Emperor. A big mistake. Dying as he threw it, the Emperor threw his axe straight at the Captain, it lodging in his head.

The Captain's Lieutenant walked to the Emperor, stabbed him, and then went on to sayL "Here falls revolutionary and revolted alike, may they rest in peace. On to the Imperial Council, we must get thier support!"

Days later, rocked by overwhelming revolt, the Imperial Army, Navy, and Air Force declared itself to be on the side of the Revolution. The Imperial Council took direct control of the military and ordered it to restore order while a new constitution was written up and selected. Within days, order was somewhat restored, martial law being active, and the only ratified part of the Constitution was the line "and the lands of the Empire shall be renamed the Allied Confederated States."

Soon though, a breakthrough in negotiations occured and the Articles of the Constitution of the Allied Confederated States were written and signed by all delegates, deriving much of the legislation from early United States legal documents.

We are deeply disturbed by the recent events in your nation. We would like to offer that if former emperor supporters need help.... We'll send weapons, train them, etc. But if your people have spoken, let them have what they want. My people spoke, they spoke for fascism, so they got it. I suppose if your people spoke... But the emperor being killed and a bloody coup... It all sounds quite fishy... Sounds like a small group imposing their will on the nation.

Is the new government going to kill any monarchist sympathizers?

OOC: You shall see soon enough....

IC:

"On behalf of the Democratic Council we must thank all those who have voiced support for the new democratic government, and we hope to fully restore order by electing the government. We will place the Imperialists on the balot, but we do not expect a victory for them, as the people have shown support for us. The old regime will not be forgotten, but we will use it as an example of when power corupts."

Whilst we support the move towards democracy, the slaughter of the emperors family was totally unnecessary.

Despite that The Allied States of Celtayoshi is pleased to see another democracy emerge.
