The International Monetary Fund (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3250821#3250821) is now seeking a city for its International Headquarters.

The IMF has already been approached by the Republic of National Commonwealth to perhaps host the headquarters in its capital of New Verum.

We would like to investigate other opportunities as well. If you would like to proport your capital, or a city within your nation to serve as headquarters for our non-profit, international fund worth trillions of dollars, please post it here for review.

The executive board will make the final decision.

Varessa City would serve as an ideal place for Int'l Monetary Fund HQ. We are classified as a capitalist paradise, and have a long-standing philosophy of dealing fairly and without prejudice with all comers in the international arena, according to our national creed, "Forever Just".

Further, the Varessan crown is a well-regarded, frequently exchanged and very stable currency, and is arguably the standard throughout the Excalbian Isles and Storn Archipelago.

A site right across from the First Landing Memorial and the Juumo-Germanic War Memorial has been set apart for whatever complex you wish to construct. All materials and construction will be paid for by the Federation should you accept.

The Grand Duchy of Hamptonshire would be honored if the IMF would choose the city of Seaburg. As our largest city you would have easy access to two international airports, three smaller regional airports, the second largest port facility in Hamptonshire, major railway access, and you would be in the heart of Seaburg's International Business District. Tax rates in the Grand Duchy are fixed at 0% and it is the policy of this government not to regulate business.

Shonar Bangla's capital city of Shutanuti (seen on http://www.freewebs.com/ns_india) is a great location for the International Monetary Fund's headquarters. Shutanuti lies on the vast Indo-Gangetic plain, and has inherited the old British economic infrastructure that was centered here. We are the hub for the Eastern Railway Command of the region of India, a nation that boasts the busiest railway system, and the largest employer in the world. We have a modern airport, with a 4600 ft asphalt runway, equipped with world-class Air Traffic Controllers who can handle any aircraft, be they civilian, transport or military, VFR, IFR, Commercial, anything.
Shutanuti is often known as the Rotterdam of the East. We are strategic situated on the Ganges delta. The water is 1200 meters deep during low tide, and 2800 meters deep during high tide. We handle the same intensity of shipping as the Atlantic. Shutanuti (formerly known as Calcutta) serves the same purpose as under British rule, it is great in importance as the Suez Canal or the Panama Canal or Singapore.
Labor here is cheap, transportation is no big deal, hydroelectric and nuclear power is abundant, and a great scenery. The President of Shonar Bangla will be honored to host the International Monetary Funds Headquarters at our capital Shutanuti.
This is besides our extensive security system. Our nation itself is a fortress, ever since the initial Civil War, when we weeded out all dissidents, their families and friends. The nation is filled with loyal citizens, and highly professional military. There are soldiers and tanks everywhere, in fact, there is 1 soldier for every 4 civilians. Our Parliament has a 20-tier security system, we will offer you such a system in your headquarters.

Galdania would like to see the IMF put it's base of operations either in Galdania City (population 19,240,000), the capital of the S.U.G., or in Perdlovsk, the nation's main trading centre.

Galdania City has extensive underground bunker systems, and would be more than able to withstand heavy bombardment by missiles, bombs, artillery shells, etc. Not to mention one or the largest militaries in the world. Tanks patrol the city every minute of the day, along with patrol groups of 3-5 soldiers who guard every inch of the city.

Perdlovsk constantly has ships going in and out of it's vast harbor, and it's quiet, peaceful, multicultural setting would be the ideal place for the IMF's headquarters. While not as secure as Galdania City, Perdlovsk is a lovely place (especially in the summer), with welcoming people of many backgrounds, and a rich cultural history.

We would be honoured to have the IMF in Galdania.

Myer was once the city of Lodz, in Poland. It is now the largest industrial city in Europe, producing 80% of all Crimmond equipment.

Holding a population of over 22 million people, it is a sprawling morass of industries of all types, ranging from oil refineries to weapons plants to the Myer Stock Exchange to the produstion of powerplants for cruisers.

There is a large underground network of tunnels linking the central military command to the bases throughout the area, thus avoiding traffic problems with troop movements.

The city has drawbacks though, namely the smog. This is fought by pumping ozone and pure oxygen into the air above the city, dissipating about half of it.

The smaller nation of Shmorgasborg wishes that You, the honorable IMF, place your headquarters in our capitol, Buffet. With a less metropolitan surrounding, it would be less stressful to you as a group. People would absolutely love to come to your headquarters here and discuss important matters, and then go for a swim in our crystal-blue water flowing through the forges river. Crime is moderate, and we have had no terrorist acts against us. We dont have a large military, but we do have a massive logistical and defensive army.

The whole of the nation of Falastur would be most honoured if you would choose our capital of Terila to host your international Headquarters. The city is the largest in Falastur, and as the capital, it serves as the seat of power in our country. The Imperial Palaces are situated largely in Terila, as is the Presidential Mansion, the Cabinet Building, the Senate Building, the Imperial Administration Buildings and many more Falasturian Government Buildings. As well as being the seat of power of our own Government, it is currently playing host to the Governments-in-Exile of two other countries. It is furthermore home to over 90 million Falasturians. Many nations have chosen to establish Embassies in our capital, and indeed they now make up an entire district of the city.

It is a great commerce capital, home to the Headquarters of many many Falasturian businesses as well as a large number of foreign corporations. It is the capital of business not only for our country but for its entire surrounding area, and every week, millions of Falasturians as well as hundreds of thousands of foreign nationals come to Terila for the shopping areas. It is also a great area to live in, with many districts making up the entire body of the city. It has some of the greatest attractions for thousands of miles, hundreds of luxurious hotels and thousands of leisure facilities, historic districts - equally as beautiful and worth visiting as the leisure areas and natural sights - and is situated on the coast of Falastur, giving stunning views over the Atlantic Ocean. Finally, it is the centre of the Falasturian travel network, meaning access to virtually anywhere in Falastur or the known world is available via virtually any method of transport to be found in Falastur.

Terila has been in existence from its first years back in the 17th Century as the inner city in a British coastal fortress on the island of Falastur. It has many historic sights as such, including the aforementioned historic district, constituting around 75% of the first city with original buildings, and a vast expanse of ground filled with remnants dating back to the Spanish siege of the fortress, when it was still a British military outpost. There is also much history from the days of Falasturian independence.

All in all, Falastur is a strong mix of old and new, and a powerful centre of industry and commerce, and we would all be delighted for you to choose our city as your host.
