Information Minister Dianyun Liu read through the latest communique from the Ministry of Foreign Relations before calling the producer of "People's Daily News".

Honji cleared his throat and turned to the camera.
"Our top story tonight: in yet another wise move, Premier Suun has initiated diplomatic relations with the People's Republic of Lasatania. Foreign Ministry sources have stated that the move is designed to increase our profile internationally, as well to establish relations with a country with which we share a great deal."
Miho gave a 'newsreader smile' before continuing. "We have learnt that an official visit is in the works, with Lasatanian luminaries coming to speak with our enlightened government about the exact nature of our diplomatic relationship. Needless to say, we here at People's Daily News extend a warm welcome to our new friends, and we hope that our fellow Marimaians will all join us in doing so."
