Blockade against North Zealand
<RoA News at 10>
"Incenced by the formation of the region of North Zealand, President Anne Carson of the Republic of Akiland has signed the order for a blockade of the region of North Zealand. The ships of this blockade include 12 RADF "Seawing" Patrol Boats (produced by the Republic), and 10 Oliver Hazard Perry class FFG purchased from an international surplus source. In an interview today, President Carson said "This blockade's aim is to assist in finding a diplomatic solution. We don't want a war, but if these "North Zealand" tresspassers do, we're ready."
This blockade was accompanyed by the activation of the Republic's military forces. The word from the captol is that they're still hoping for a diplomatic solution, but people outside of Akiland aren't so certain."

We warn you that if any Shildonian vessel is harmed during the course of this blockade it shall be considered an act of war. A carrier battle group, headed by the PRSS Pogey has been despatched to the region to protect our merchant vessels.
Upon further consideration of the situation, the Republic of Akiland has decided to stand down from military alert and remove the blockade upon the acceptance of a proposed treaty allowing the Reigion of North Zealand to retain occupancy of the northern portion of Zealand in return for 1 billon dollars.
We await your reply.
No ships peacably complying with the blockade will be attacked, however, until the blockade is removed, any ship using military force to penetrate the blockade will be fired upon.

We are shocked that Akiland would use military force to find a diplomatic solution. Their are currently four West Pacific traders en route to North Zealand. They will not stop, if they are attacked the attacking ships will be sunk by planes from the 2nd, 3rd, and 9th carrier task forces, who are returning home after a near war with FWS. One carrier task group could probably equal the strength of the entire Akiland Navy, however, we do not like to do things in have measures. You have your warning Akiland, we advise you heed our warning and let the ships through, or our vengeance will be swift and deadly. And we are more than ready for a fight also, we may not stop with just destroying your ships in the blockade, we may just have to continue to Akiland itself and make sure no more threats may accure.
**The 2nd and 3rd Carrier will have to leave the area in four (RL) days, but the 9th will stay in the area for 12 (RL) days.**
The Republic of Akiland is willing to negotiate with the nations of North Zealand. If you would avoid a war, you should beseech them to consider a treaty. Akiland will withdraw if a treaty is agreed to. And though we would rather not begin a war over something so trivial, if any Akilandian vessel is fired upon, we will return fire. You have been warned.
To the Nations of North Zealand:
If we do not recieve a response to the proffered treaty by the 30th of June (RL date), we will increase our level of force.
Our patience grows thin.
To those who have overtly challenged our blockade:
The Republic of Akiland acts on behalf of the nations of the region of Zealand. We have every right to use any method to remove these squatters. If the blockade is attacked, the 4500 sailors of the First Akiland Naval Group are willing to sacrifice their lives to further their nation's intrests in the reigion.
Be warned. If our vessels are attacked, it will be seen as an act of war. Any nation that purpotrates such an act will soon enough fall under the guns of Akiland.
We are a peace-loving nation, but if we are threatened, we will respond. It will be unpleasant.
To the rest of the world:
The Republic of Akiland asks you not to interfere in a regional sort of affair. Either ally yourself with a side, or stay out of the way. We cannot be responsable for any collateral damage to spectators and looky-lous.
Thank you, and good night.
President Anne Carson of the Republic of Akiland

On the flight deck of the PRSS Pogey, a single EA-5 Centaur-class electronic warfare aircraft is prepped for launch. Several decks below, it's crew is receiving their final briefing before launching the sortie.
The senior intelligence officer onboard, Damon Brocklehurst was giving the crew a recap on the capabilities of the Akiland vessels.
"The Fig-7 is essentially an ASW platform, but it comes with a load of up to 36 Standard Missiles, so you'll want to stay at least 120 miles away, but if you think you can get closer, then do it. The closer you get the better data we'll get on the radar frequencies they're using, and the better we'll be able to jam them when the chips are down and the balloon is up."
These 'Seawings' on the other hand, are a different matter. All we can determine from the satellite photos are that there are 12 of them, and that they can float. Apparantly the boys at Space Command have been having a bit of bother with the wrong sort of clouds. We need as much intel as possible on their capabilities, so get as close as you can without endangering your aircraft.
As far as enemy air assets are concerned, we don't think there are any fighters in the area. Nonetheless you'll be taking a pair Cobras with you for self-escort, and we'll have a pair of Harpies airbourne with AWACS support to give cover if need be. If you do come up against enemy aircraft, you are authorised to fire if they lock radar on you, or if they come within 25 miles.
Good luck"
After being launched from the Pogey, the Centaur climbed to an altitude of 35,000 feet and after recieving a vector from the patrolling E-2C, began heading towards the Akiland fleet to try and gather the intelligence required.

The delegate from North Zealand would really like to know why the region of Zealand has imposed this against us. May we remind you that North Zealand is a little quite region in north Europe.
We do not wish to pay money to every bully who tries to scare us, and we see absolutly no reason of doing so by now.
You have no reason to come here for offensive purposes, and we wish you to stand down right away!
We wish for a diplomatic resolution to the situation, but first of all we demand that the offenders explain themselves!
As of now all armed forces in North Zealand are in full alert and ready to respond to any and all hostile actions, until this issue has been resolves!
Sincerely
The delegate of Kasterkeep
 instead of blockadeing them why not just nuke them off the face of the world?

You obviously don't know anything about this. Besides, the thread was entitled "BLOCKADE of North Zealand", not "lets all no0o0ok North Zealand".

Akiland, stand down, you now have two nations of far superior naval power ready to sink these ships of your little blockade, they will be able to do little more than send an SOS before they went up in flames. If our ships are attacked while crossing the blockade lines we will swiftly attack the ships of the blockade with planes from our Carrier in the area. You have your only warning, we advise you let our ships pass, for your own safety.
[code:1:59a79ac44e]To the Skipper of the Shildonian Fleet, we wish to work with you in ending this petty blockade of North Zealand, we have one frieghter about to cross the blockade line, if it is attacked we will destroy this blockade and no one will think anything of it. Join us, we will fight if your ships are attacked and we hope you will do the same.[/code:1:59a79ac44e]
A lone GBER tanker is heading slowly towards North Zealand in spite of the blockade...Should the ship be attacked we will not hesitate to wage war. Grand Admiral Scarlett of the GBER Imperial Navy has readied the HMS Junker, a nearby carrier on regular patrol, for action.

"Down with the fascist blockade!"
The protesting crowd gets more and more agitated.
Men, woman and children is amongst the crowd on the beach venting their frustration. "What have we done to them?" yells fisher, and father of two. One of the protesters yells "Our government is doing nothing" the crowd roars "We must take this into out own hands" again the crowd roars. "Like ghandi we will fight them peacefully, like martin luther king we will fight them at their humanity" "Yeeah" the crowd roars once again. "We will sail out, and we will meet them as persons and peace will triumph" "We are all human!" yells a mother in the crowd "Yes we will put flowers in their guns and the fascist regimes will loose" The crowd is extatic. "Follow me my brothers, to the boats" The crowd cheers and starts in running pace towards the boats. "Power to the people", "Peace!" and similar outcrys are heard. The 6 policemen watching the harbor stands firm and speaks to the crowd "Please listen, you cannot sail out to them" "For you own sake, they will kill you!". The crowd goes silent. A man steps out of the crowd and speaks on its behalf "We outnumber you 30 to 1, we wish not to harm you, join us in breaking this fascist blockade or move out of the way. If not, we see ourselves forced to pascify you. Please. We do not wish to hurt you." The policemen eyes the man for a couple of seconds then quitly steps back. The crowd cheers wildly and rushes past the policemen. One policeman throws down his hat and joins the crowd. The others look on sadly. 20 minnutes later the crowd is sailing towards the blockade in a variety of fishing vessels, motor boats and even a single ferry. The crowd starts singing the national hume, and people on top of the ferry can be seen dancing. The children join the game and jumps around in the boats. In one of the fishing vessels 2 men are smoking some marijuana while the other two readies a makeshift bordering ladder made out of a rope ladder and an anchor. The trip is chaotic, boats circle each other and ithey are slowly moving towards the ships in the horizont.
The policemen on the beach managed to make contact with Ralle, prime minister of the country. This was something he was not used to. He had banned all guns from the country and he had no prisons becuase of his peace loving population. Now, he wished he at least had some police helicopters but he practically had no police force at all. Ralle shook his head, rushed to the beach and watched as the boats slowly closed in on the blockade. All he could do now, was to bite his nails till they bleed and pray that the blockade would not destroy the boats.
[OOC: Its up to you akiland, take it from here]
"Damn communists!" Admiral Grey swore softly to himself. "How long until they get here?"
"15 minutes, sir," answered the lieutenant holding binoculars.
"They're all determined to make this difficult."
The mish-mash rabble of hippies, peace-nicks, and other weirdos drew within earshot of the blockade.
"People of Ralle!" cried a voice through a bullhorn, "do not approach the blockade. Return to your homes. I repeat: DO NOT APPROACH THE BLOCKADE! Any vessel attempting to board us will be destroyed. Any person trying to board us, or even appearing to aim anything resembling a weapon at us will be shot. DO NOT APPROACH THE BLOCKADE!! We do not want to harm innocent civillians but if we are threatened, we will respond!"
We will sent peace-keeping forces to the troubled region but they will only stay for 14 Days

OOC: Akiland, have you decided to attack the freighter of ours or not?
IC: "Captain, urgent news, some distressed citizens of Ralle are aproaching the ships of the blockade."
"In what? Ralle doesn't have a navy do they"
"No sir, they appear to be in, umm, lets see, we have seen fishing trawlers, sailboats, out board motors, all sorts of boats."
"Damn, send the Destroyers Burkstein and Vandenburg along with the Cruisers Rhinehorst in closer, tell them to have their 5" and 8" guns ready along with their Anti-Ship missiles and Torpedoes, tell them to sink the Akiland ships if they attack these citizens trying to find a peaceful solution. Take with you the Ship-to-Ship assault teams, just in case one or more of the Akiland ships are damaged but not sunk, command says that Drucker wants one of these ships captured as a prize and a warning to other nations of our power."
"Yes Captain, I will relay the orders immediately."
"And also have a flight (eight) of F-22's take off and head towards the Akiland ships as a warning not to attack, they should help to supply some firepower to the Destroyers and Cruiser if the worst does happen."
"Sir, what if they suspect the planes are going to attack?"
"Then they will be seen as the aggressors and we will attack per our rules of engagement. We will be able to end this blockade once and for all with hopefully minimal loss of life."
"Ok sir, has Naval Command orderd you to do this?"
"In so many words, yes. Any more questions?"
"No sir, sending out the orders now."

Allow me to remind you that a blockade is considered an act of war, that is why when JFK use US Navy ships to block Cuba during the Cuban Missiles Crisis, it was called a quarantine(SP?)
<RoA News at 10>
"Hello, I'm Jane Randolph and this is channel 12, AKNY. In a radical move last night, President Carson has decided to withdraw all vessels from the area.
"I hope by this action we do not convey the wrong message to the world: that it is OK to mess with the Republic of Akiland. We were in a position where any more forward motion would have escalated the conflict beyond our reasonable ability to control. As of 6 o' clock this very morning, all military personnel and equipment have vacated the area with only one casualty: a poor little dolphin who got stuck in the propellers of the ANV Akiland."
There is no word yet on the response to the withdrawl from the concerned nations, but there is tumult within the Akilandian government. Senator Jacobs of Quarry City, South Province and leader of the Progressive Party said in an exclusive interview fifteen minutes ago, "We should be above warfare, and President Carson's withdrawl from the conflict shows how weak of a leader she is!"
Thank you for watching AKNY News at 10."

[OOC note: Dont worry, i will post something. I dont have time right now though, maybe tommorow or the day after that]
The tanker is drawing closer to the North Zealand blockade. The HMS Junker is also tracking the tanker in case of an attempt to attack it.
