annexation

Is there anything wrong with a more economically powerful nation annexing a weaker one, despite its wishes, in order to give a better life to its miserable population and its stumbling economy? I think weaker nations should move over, for the sake of a greater need, like good living conditions and a better, more diverse and more active economic market. Increasing consumer choices and buying power of all people ultimately serves a greater need than political freedom. Freedom over good living? I would chose good living conditions any day and twice on sunday. Who cares if you've lost the ability to chose your own government, your economy is stronger than it was when you were able to and services have increased and taxes gone down. What more could a citizen ask for?

THANKYOU!!

You have just said my entire feelings on the matter of imperialism in a paragraph. I totally agree. People should have done what is best for them.

"Freedom" is taken waaaaay to far these days....

What if those people don't place the same value on economy then you my capitalist brother? I mean if the whole world would have fallen under Napoleon or Hitler then we as a whole would have a much stronger economy because there would have been no competition. that economy would have come at the expense of freedom and what is money if you can't spend it.
