The scoutship exited hyperspace in Sol and headed toward Rhinara under cloak. Once sufficiently close to Rhinara, it began transmitting a tight beam message directly to the Dominion Central Command.

***

A silence dominated the highly secured meeting hall, deep within the capital building of the Dominion.

Finally, the Founder broke it with a deep sigh. "Recall the armadas."

"Many of them very far away," said Admiral Varel. "If the invasion is within a few days, as the intell indicates, then many of them will not be able to get back here in time."

"At least have them try," the Founder said with exasperation.

"Given the size of the Goa'uld fleets, we won't be able to take them on single-handedly, Founder," stated General Korell.

"We'll make an announcement to the world, then," answered the Founder. "Release the information about the intended invasion, and ask for the planet to unite to stave off this attack."

Korell frowned a bit. "People will want to know how we managed to retrieve the information."

"Give them just enough to persuade them that it is true. Anything else and we'll just be vague about it. Ask if anyone else has intell of this invasion plan as well." The Founder leaned back in his chair and steepled his fingers. "The entire planet is at stake. Other nations will answer the call to defend Earth."

Deep inside the earth of a long abandoned planet the largest conveining of Tok'ra in known history was assembled. They sat in their traditional robes, their faces illuminate by the glow of the tunnel-builders rolling out of the newly grown chamber.

There was an air of caution in the room as the proud Council Members glanced around the room pondering why they would be called here at such a risk to themselves.

They would not have to wait long however as the air seemed to stiffen as Atum-Geb entered the room. Behind him flowed the black robes, displaying his status amoung the Council, for he was a man all either revered or feared. Once one of the most powerful System-Lords, known as the Protector of Earth, he had thrown off the duty to instead join the ranks of the Tok'ra in protection of his pride and joy... the Tau'ri.

Atum-Geb: "Peace be with you, good friends..."

Together: "And also with you..."

Atum-Geb: "I call you hear because of some disturbing reports I have heard from an agent onboard a Goa'uld Mothership."

With two powerful, echoeing claps that ring through the tunnels spurred on by the metal-on-metal clang of his ribbon-device Atum-Geb summons in two Tok'ra carrying a series of Goa'uld pads they, which they begin to distribute.

Atum-Geb: "Tok'ra Kre! These show what many of us have feared... a possible Gao'uld invasion of the Tau'ri."

Councilman: "How many ships..."

Atum-Geb: "No more than three, if our intel is up-to-date. However, we cannot allow this to happen..."

Tok'ra-to-left: "Agreed, but how are we to act? We do not have the numbers or time to infiltrate the vessels..."

Atum-Geb: "Then send myself and a small team of Tok'ra to the Tau'ri..."

Blinking breifly his eyes open glowing bright orange and he continues with the booming voice of the symbiote.

Atum-Geb: "The time for action is now, we cannot be found complacent whilst snakes sting our bed."

Councilwoman: "Indeed, do we have concencus?"

The Council Member each give a slight incline of the head indicating aggreement. With that, Atum-Geb began to exit.

Councilwoman: "You might need this..."

Reaching into a golden box she removes a small device from it handing it to Atum-Geb.

Councilwoman: "I believe they all it a G...D...O?"

Taking the device, he bows slightly and leaves the Council Chamber.

--------------------------------------------------------

An hour or so later he stand on the planet surface, surrounded by many other Tok'ra all laden with equipment for their voyage. Infront of him is the DHD, and with the last chevron locked the event horizen jets forwards to reveal the water-like portal of the Stargate.

Atum-Geb: "Wait..."

With a swift gesture he idicates they should wait as he punches in a code iinto to the GDO-Device and waits a moment...

Atum-Geb: "Tok'ra Kre!"

With a dozen powerful strides Atum-Geb is the first through the Stargate, his destination... Earth

Inside the UMN Transfer Column Control Center, William Smith, the operations supervisor for the T.C.C.C., sits at his desk while going over several documents pertaining to the new upgrades being installed in the millions of porters inside the range of the Transfer Column Network. Jack Reynolds, one of the hundreds of men and women monitoring a specific group of columns out of hundreds of thousands of Transfer Columns which span for thousands of AUs (Astronomical Units), looks over the the the Trade Column data which is being gathered by the recently upgraded porters. Several "bleeps" on the maps and charts suddenly alert him to an unknown object or stream of data crossing over the path of the Trade Column.

Jack: What the? Sir, I think you've got to see this...

{William, walks over to Jack, who then points out the disturbance}

Jack: Here...Take a look at this...The data we are collecting on the specifications on this thing is very peculiar...

William: Mmmhmm...It seems familiar to me...No...I can't be...

Jack: What? What do you think it is?

William: I'm not sure what it is...But these patterns here...On this chart seem awfully similar to the gnosis...

Jack: Sir...We haven't encountered any gnosis here for decades...

William: I know that...See...These wave patterns here are different...From gnosis data...So...Wait...Look...These show it's some sort of data...Information...The old porters wouldn't have been able to collect this sort of information and data...So...

Jack: That is why we don't have any previous information on this thing...

William: Exactly...I want you to investigate this more...If you need to...Enlist some help from your colleagues who have finished their work already...

Jack: Will do...

OOC: i'll go over the UMN and its system when I properly introduce it later...when i'm not as busy...

Onboard the CFV Vigilance, one of four 'Liberator' class destroyers in Earth orbit, it was business as usual. At least until they recieved the Rhinaran transmission.

"Commander! We're picking up a transmission from the... Rhinarans!? Wait one sec...Decoding now...Ah---uh sir? You might want to take a look at this!" A young com technician said, his voice becoming paniced as he read the message.

The ship's Commander strode towards the small, dimly lit communications cubicle that all 'fresh fish' are required by tradition to man. It's a real rite of passage.

The Commander glanced over the transmission, and his jaw dropped. "Call in the rest of the fleet! We're going to need a lot of firepower to deal with this!" He said, after looking at the screen intently for a couple of minutes

"But sir, the rest of the fleet is beyond communications range! They're off at the shipyard, preparing for the war!" The young com technician said in response to the Commander's rediculous order.

"There's a new war! We need the fleet at home! Damn the shipyard!" The commander said, his voice becoming more agitated

"But SIR! We can't call in the fleet! I just said that they're out of range! This attack is going to happen in the next few days. If we sent a communication to the fleet, it wouldn't arrive until next saturday! And then they'd need to prep for launch, rearm their weapons, stop performing exercises...No. it just isn't feasable. We're on our own. Perhaps the other space nations will come to our aid." The comtech retorted.

"I certainly hope so. Our ships can handle plenty of those Goa'Uld motherships, but not a whole damn fleet of them!" The Commander replied, looking off into space (actually hull, but that's not the point.)

There was one bright spot, however. All of the Destroyers were fully provisioned and equipped. They all had the latest fighters and bombers. Their infantry had the latest weapons and armor.

Speaking of the infantry, they had one very valuable asset. They had a small team of elite CF "Silencers" aboard the Vigilance. The Silencers would prove to be a major asset if the fighting turned to ground warfare.

OOC: *Cough*, or my destroyers get blown to kingdom come and only this squad survives, making it to the escape pods *cough*

OOC: how are the goa'uld going to get to earth exactly...i thought in the movie they used that stargate portal thing...so i dont think that a space fleet would be able to stop a force that would just be teleporting from one place to another...my previous posts showed that the UMN sensors picked up some spatial disturbance in a certain area in space, possibly some beings moving through the stargate to another...

Lord Apophis arrived at his home planet, pleased to see that all was in hand. The legions of Jafa were marching into the motherships. Vast swarms of death gliders were moving all over the pyramid platforms. The invasion was ready. Apophis entered the bridge of his mothership via ring platfrom and immediantly took control. "Are the Jafa ready" he asked his first prime.

"Yes My Lord we are ready to leave. Supplies have been stored and the defences within the empire are ready, incase any of the other Gods attack."

"Excellent order the fleet to depart."

The motherships began to slowly move up from the platforms, their vast bulk being pulled back down to the planet, but they entered escpae velocity and were now headed towards earth.

OOC: In the movie, they used the gate because it was the most convienent way. However, the Earth gate now (as of the first episode of SG-1) has a protective titanium shield called an iris that folds down when someone who isn't authorized is trying to come through.

The only way for the Goa'Uld to arrive here without spalttering themselves all over the iris is via ship, hence the space battle that's coming up.

You should watch SG-1, or check out the link I posted in the OOC thread, to find out a bit more about the situation in the Stargate universe.

On a side note, it would really suck if this double posted. :(

IC:

Squad Captain Molotov went through checking his armor and weapons again. With combat coming up, you never know when you might need to shoot something.

He spun the multiple barrels of his XM-1 personal autocannon, spreading biolube on the rotating assembly as it spun. Then, he took out the cleaning tool, which very much resembled a ramrod from an ancient cannon, and proceeded to stick it down each of the barrels of the gun, leaving the interior of the gun completely free of dirt or other foreign particles.

Next he moved onto his armor. The X-12 "Super" combat powersuit gleamed in the drab lighting of the ship, but even in these conditions it was still beautiful. Spotless, as usual. Molotov had only worn it once. It even still had that 'new armor smell.' Molotov hadn't seen combat for months, and being extra baggage upon a ship of navy skanks didn't offer much oppertunity for such activities.

Molotov sighed to himself. He was a Silencer, the best of the best. He wouldn't let those pansy flyboys get him down. Striding into the Ship's gym in full uniform, he solicited numerous looks. Looks of awe from the junior officers and enlisted men 'fresh fish' as they say. Looks of hatred for the long time navy fliers, the ones who thought that any battle could be won in space, and that the Captain and his kind were 'obsolete.' He even solicited stares of lust from some of the female officers. They recognized the red reflective plates of the Silencer uniform, and the power and virility that came with it. It takes a certain "caliber" of man to make it into the Silencer corps...

Molotov paused for a moment to reflect upon his uniform. It was actually a lightweight, form fitting polymer body armor. When fully sealed, he took on the appearance of an infamous 'stormtrooper' from old films. But, while the standard uniform was excellent for every occassion, sometimes you need heavier protection. That's where the powersuit back in his cabin came into play.

Tension was rife in the gym. The commander had told everyone about the upcoming battle, and everyone involved needed to work off a little tension beforehand.

There was one navy boy using the anti-gravity weight machine, but he got up and left for some reason. Molotov sat down and began to pump weight. After only minutes had elapsed, "Hey! What the hell are you doing in my damned spot!?" The navy man yelled.

Grabbing a baton (non lethal weapons such as this are always found in a CF gym), he swung at Molotov. The poor man was oblivious to the fact that Molotov could kill him with one hand. (Most navy fliers believe the Sliencer Corps' reputation to be vastly exchaggerated.) Molotov grabbed the man's right arm, twisted it until the impudent navy man released the baton, and picked up the man with one hand. Lifting the foolish navy man off the deck by a full two feet, Molotov said "I'll use whatever machine I damn well please. If you try to bother me again, I'll crush your neck and say it was a 'sparring accident.' Run along now, child.
I'd perfer to save my energy for killing aliens."

Introduction to the: U.M.N. "Unus Mundus Network"

The UMN is an informational network that spans the entire universe. Its non-locality is a large factor in its use in space warps and FTL (faster than light) communications.

The term unus mundus, literally "one world," was used by psychiatrist C.G. Jung to describe a state beyond this world where every contradiction in physics, like synchronicity and the EPR Paradox, can be explained.

A place where every relationship, such as that of the mind to mind, or mind to matter, can also make sense.

The clank of heavy Jaffa armour could be heard ringing on sheets of hardened metal as the Jaffa of Lord Cronos assembled. The harrowing sound of Death Gliders and the roar of Al'keshs could be heard as they settled into their bays ready for the battle against the Tau'ri. All took place in the backdrop of what any normal Tau'ri would say were pyramids but in fact were Ha'tak Motherships...

The portal door to the main bridge of Cronos' personal Ha'tak hissed open. In walked Lord Cronos represent in his hand crafted battle armour with a Zat attached to his flank and his shield generator ready to flick on with a touch of a crystal.

The First Prime of Cronos, a Jaffa named Heracles clanked in, he did the usual Jaffa fist salute and said;

"My lord your armies and fleet are assembled, they are ready as always to do your bidding. Where would you bid us march to glory?"

Cronos gave that arrogant smile, which always sent a chill down the spine of any Jaffa and eminated:

"We go to Sol, Heracles. We shall redenzvous with Lord Anubis there and take Sol by force unless it surrenders to the will of the Gods"

With that Heracles fist saluted, nodded to the four elite bodyguards and moved to stand by Cronos' side opposite from Cronos' Lo'taur, a beautiful young human girl with raven hair named Katara. Whom he secretly felt some affection for.

"To Sol" boomed Cronos voice, resonating round the chamber. And as if it was automatic the Command Jaffa moved the Ha'tak towards jumping distance with the fleet following it.

The fleet then disappeared as it left for Sol, the first play of the great campaign and the rendezvous with Lord Anubis.

On the bridge of the U.S.S. Akagi, the message had just come through. The Goa'uld System Lords were preparing an invasion of a scale never before seen. The Lords were actually managing to cooperate on this. Never before seen in the likes of them, it was unprecedented. THey were going to throw almost there entire fleets at Earth, with the intent to wipe the planet from the system. So many Motherships all converging would be hard to beat, nearly impossible. But they had to try.
"Lt. Aladan, send word to our ships in this sytem. They've probably gotten the same message by now. We are going to try and stop the Goa'uld. Tell them to head to Earth at maximium warp. As many as can manage."
"Aye sir, transmission away. But should we wait for orders from SFC?"
"SFC be damned. As soon as they receive word of this, they'll be giving the same orders. We're just ahead of the game."
The ops officer turned to face the captain. Sir, in total, we've got 12 operational Akiras, including ourselves, and two Galaxys. The rest aren't finished supplying yet."
"Very well, tell any ships that can't fight to get out of here, and any that can't move to defend the docks. I'm not sure what defences NG has here but they probably won't stand up to ann assault like this. Helm, maximium warp for Earth. Engage."
The fleet moved of, stretching into infinity towards Earth. A pitiful force against at least half a dozen Goa'uld fleets. What chance did they have?

2 Galaxy class starships: Agaememnon, Galaxy
12 Akira class cruisers: Akagi, Thunderchild, Akira, Mercury, Venus, Crazy Horse, Siren, Ottawa, Regina, Vancouver, Denver, Dakota

VSV-Gralla- Fleet Leader

"Captain Harris, sir; their is a priority one message from Vi2o Intel for you." Calmly said the comms officer

"In my office." Harris said, with a quick glance to his commander that said "Now, we get to really see why we are out here"

"Yessir." The comms officer pressed a single button on her console

"Captain Harris..." Said Admiral Crest slowly.

"It's a pleasure to see you again, Admiral."

"Like hell it is- We have recieved word that Goa'uld system lords are preparing to invade Earth." The Admiral quickly glanced up to harris to note his reaction, but his face remained still except for a long sigh.

"We must start meeting on better occasions." Both smiled to eachother. Truthfully, the only time that they where takling to eachother not during a state of emergency was over 13 months ago. The Gralla was assigned to escort her to the newly built VSV-Firestorm, the flagship of Vi2o.

The Admiral continued to brief Harris on the situation

"Now, Harris..." Crest said in a motherly voice "You have another Stormkeeper and four of our newest and most advanced Stingray cruisers under your command. Use them wisely."

"Harris out."

As the captain turned from his desk, it struck him. He was not dealing with pirates on half beaten ships, or patroling perfectly safe areas in Vi2o space...Captain Harris and his fleet of patroling ships where about to face the Gou'ald. Not only that, but a large fleet of capital ships, fighters, and whatever all the Lords could throw at them. He froze as his brain played back the message which he had just took so easily.

He walked out of his office on to the bridge

"Set course, Earth. Maximum warp...fleet wide yellow alert. Send a priority one message to any ships avalable to rendenvous at SOL."

The captain paused and stroked the insignia on his collar that only experienced captains wore.

"I want battle ready reports from all decks within 24 hours. Ops, begin a full scan of this sector, and dont end unless I authorize you to."

"Sir...am I looking for anything in particular...?" Questioned the Ops officer

"Yes..." Harris hesitated, "Ships...big ships. Helm, engage on set course"

"Aye, engaging"

The whole fleet turned hard 67 degrees port and entered warp.

Current Fleet:

2 Stormkeeper Class BattleCruisers (VSV-Gralla; VSV-Spearhead)
4 Stingray Class BattleCruisers (VSV-Starfire; VSV-Stalker; VSV-Inferno; VSV- FuryII)

"You are my instuments of punishment!" Sokar said to his assembled army of Jaffa. "We shall crush the insolent tau'ri for their sins against me, your lord. They shall burn in the firey depths of Hell!" The jaffa cheered as Sokar left to go to his ship. "Is the fleet ready?"
"Yes, my lord," his first prime said, his red armor making him resemble a devil.
"Prepare to exit orbit, have the warriors get to the ships."
"Yes, my lord." The Jaffa began marching up the ramps in formation into the Alkesh bombers, some would take the ring transports to one of the motherships. The fleet claoked, and prepared to join the invasion.

Metal caskets, all carried by 3 armed guards, were delievered to many of Earths most powerful organizations. National governments, privy international organizations, and perhaps even Microsoft all recieved their own metal casket. Inside was a large white envelope containting a single business proposal on 5 sheets of regal cream colored paper, all bearing the Green Storm Inc. watermark.

Each one read much the same, with only names and specific details changed,
The main body of the proposal read as follows:

We are sure that you are aware of the recent launch of StormHook 1, and more importantly,
Rhinara's recent claim that the Goa'uld fleets are poised to strike at Earth. We urge you dearly to move on this threat as quickly as you can, all life on earth hangs in the balance. We too, plan to come to the defence of Earth in these dark times.

While Green Storm Inc. is only one small corporation, hardly comparable to the might of many of the nations of the world, we plan to do our part in defending our great home. Recently Green Storm Inc and it's subsidiaries have been designing a small disposable fleet of fighter drones for use in defending mineral claims in the asteroid belt. The recent launch of StormHook 1 has seen the primliminary testing and deployment phase of these craft off without a hitch. Since each craft is less than 6 feet in length, Green Storm Inc. and it's subsidiaries have already launched nearly 4 dozen into orbit. StormHook 1 certainly came at a good time.

However, while these numbers may seem great, the minimal low cost weaponry on each craft is not yet a great threat to the Goa'uld. For this reason Green Storm Inc. has requested your assistance. We have already expanded our production facilities, and are ready to construct launch a massive wave of over 2000 such craft, with several adaptations to make them more affective as attack drones. Unfortunately the majority of Green Storm Inc. and it's subsdiaries have already poured much of their available funds into the launch of StormHook 1 and the expansion of our facilities. This is where your organization comes in. Green Storm Inc. is capable of converting monetary funds into hope for earths safety at an incredibly efficient rate. Each attack craft costs under $30,000 to construct. For less than the rent paid for a single building, your organization can help in the interplanetary defense of earth.

Please deeply conisder Green Storm Inc.'s offer. These are times where we must band together, and by pooling our collective resources we may yet be able to fend off the Goa'uld invasion.

Included you will find transfer information for any funds you wish to put towards saving your childrens future. The sooner your funds arrive in Green Storm's bank account, the sooner a ship with your name will enter orbit.

A small slip of paper included in the envelope reads as following:

In order to increase morale among the Earth population, Green Storm Inc. is sponsoring a naming competition. The contestant who comes up with the best name for Green Storm's defense craft will be given $10,000 in Green Storm branded clothing, electronics, and space tourism vouchers. Please spread the word among your citizens and/or employees as they begin to deal with the news that earth will soon be in a very dangerous situation.

"Have everyone answering the call to defend Earth converge on these coordinates," Admiral Varel said to one of her officers, indicating a location near the third planet. "A single front is much stronger than several, disorganized fleets attempting to take on the Goa'uld on their own. Tell them that the Dominion will keep a constant watch over the system, and that we will relay the information of when and where the Goa'uld fleets are, upon arrival."

"Yes, Admiral," the officer replied before going to fulfill his duties.

Varel studied the 3D map of Sol emanating from a projector at the center of her table. Various insignias indicated where ships of different affiliations were located within the solar system. Of the parties that have responded thus far, Central Facehuggeria and Brandoniats offered the best hope - aside from the Dominion fleets themselves, of course.

She motioned for another personnel to approach her. "Contact these two," she said, pointing to the holographic, floating insignias of Central Facehuggeria and Brandoniats. "We will likely be working closely very soon."

***

General Korell brought up a scanned letter on the flat console screens sticking up out of the conference table. "A group of armed foreigners brought this to the border guards," he said. "It is from a Russian corporation named Green Storm Inc., asking for funds. Normally, I wouldn't bring this up to you, but they claim it is directly involved with the Goa'uld threat."

The Founder quickly read through the letter. "What are these crafts they are proposing to build?"

"Of the ones our sensor arrays have detected them launch, they are small, unmanned probes utilizing vastly inferior projectile ammunition as their primary and only weapons systems," answered Korell.

An eyebrow perked up on the Founder. "You can't be serious." He shook his head. "Ignore them."

Members of the Kanuckistani Admiralty spent several minutes reviewing inteligence files regaurding Gao'uld military capibilities upon reciving word of the thread, befor dismissing it's severity; if even two half-rate space powers responded, was the conclusion, the Goa'uld would never make orbit, and the Kanuckistani Navy had other concerns at the moment.

Other parties, with more acurate intel, did not brush the invasion off so easily, however; but rather than a threat, they viewed it as an opertunity...

IC: The captain was pacing the bridge, having made several laps already. The defender's ships might be able to equal the Goa'uld ships, but on the ground, they would be grossly outnumbered. Each of the ships, known as "Motherships," could carry several thousand Jaffa, the System Lord's infantry. At least there was one lucky thing, the Jaffa lacked proper heavy support. All they had was Death Gliders. Pitifully fragile. But they had a LOT of them.
"Comm, contact the other defenders. Inquire as to the ground forces we're going to present. At best, we can keep them out of the atmosphere, so they can't land troops. But if they do, I want to know if we're prepared."
"Aye sir. Message away."
The Federation ships could hardly affect the ground battle, save for wide area phaser sweeps. But if it got to close combat or urban warfare, the ship's weapons would be useless.

"Proximity alert...proximity alert...proximity alert." Sounded the ships computer, stunning everyone but the tactical officer.

"Sir, I am detecting sevral fleets in this sector with us. They all seem to be meeting at one point." Said the tactical officer as he watched his sencer log.

"On viewer. What are the configurations?" Questioned the captain as he viewed the readout from the sencers on the main viewer.

"I believe that the closest fleet is of a Brandoniats configuration; The others are still to far to tell." Stated the operations officer.

"They could...or should be allies in this battle, sir." Added the tactical officer.

"Notify the Gralla."

"Aye."

"Sir, incoming message from FuryII." Said the comms officer.

Harris turned to his monitor on his right and hit a few buttons, he then scaned the message twice.

"Comms, open a channel to the closest fleet." Commanded Harris.

"Sir...I will have to patch it through FuryII's communication array. The Stormkeepers communication array is not 100% reliable at that range" Said the comms officer.

"Very well"

"Channel open"

With a crack of his neck, Captain Harris began to talk.

"Greetings unidentified ship, this is Star Captain Harris of the VSV-Gralla leading a fleet of six ships. We are on an...asignment to defend Earth from a possible invasion. Please state whom you are and if we may be of assistance. Good day. Harris out."

"Closed, sir"

Captain Harris took his seat on the bridge and awaited a responce from the possibly allied ship.

Chancellor Keiji picked up the letter sent by Green Storm and read it again. He started to think to himself.

Keiji: Goa'uld invasion of Earth...What in the world is this thing...Hmmm...I better go investigate this...I have a gut feeling that this thing is serious...

Inside the UMN Control Center, in Miltia, the buzz about the Goa'uld invasion was going rampant. The 5th Intel Division had its hands full finding out as much as possible about the Goa'uld and why they had not known about this fleet much sooner (it was later discovered that one of the officers had accidentally deleted the files, thinking it was a hoax based on a very old and classic sci-fi TV series called SG-1). The Transfer System Control Center was a bee hive of activity. All the operators were busy redirecting gate-jumps and gate-outs around a 100 Astronomical Unit radius of the reported Goa'uld fleet. There were also reports that several space freighters in the immediate area have already been lost or have been out of contact for days.

Inside the 5th Intel Division, an extremely large room far underneath the main structure of the UMN Control Center, Colonel Campbell was checking over several charts in his office, off to the side of the main control room, while mumbling to himself on how pathetic that officer that threw away the first data collected on the Goa'uld invasion months ago. Colonel Campbell was in charge of supervising the 5th Division. The 5th Intel Division's primary role is to collect and monitor all data transactions and to monitor any significant event, occurance, or situation in the entire galaxy. This Division, like several other Division was different, since it was controlled by the military.

Outside Earth's orbit is the space station, Second Miltia (previously called the Kookai Foundation, until it was assimilated into -Noir-). Here, many people were enjoying their peaceful lives, unaware of the Goa'uld invasion. The subordinate branch of the UMN, located in the city was silent, as the day grew late. Many of the people have already left for the day, the 5th Division branch located here was half-manned. The remaining officers, under Captain McNeil, were awaiting for the night-shift personnel to arrive. Then suddenly McNeil's phone went off, as he was sitting at his desk watching the local news.

McNeil: McNeil, here...What is the matter, sir?

Campbell: Shoot...You don't know!?!? The Goa'uld!!!

McNeil: The what?

Campbell: The Goa'uld invasion!!! I can't believe you don't know!?!?!? Here...Check out this Intel, we've gathered...

McNeil: Mmmhmm...Yea, right...I bet it's just a...False...Alarm...

Several windows, with charts, graphs, and images, popped up on his screen, as several of his larger display screen, recently lowered from the ceiling since McNeil was using them to watch TV, began to display Astronomical Maps and images of the supposed Goa'uld fleet. McNeil's jaw dropped at the moment he realized what the pictures and the statistics meant.

Campbell: Man...John...You gotta pay more attention...That is why I don't bother promoting you...Here...The coordinates...We need as much data and info you can get on these guys...I want everyone there to get on this situation immediately...This might be the biggest thing this year...

McNeil: Y...Y...Y...Yes, sir...We'll be right on it...

The vid-phone switched off, and McNeil stood up and stared at all the things on the display screens around his room, as well as his computer. He then shook his head and ran outside his room to inform his officers.

After a long debate, and much explaination given to Chancellor Keiji, the main executive board of the UMN finally decided to hand some of the information over to the UMN Journalism and Censorship Division. Within hours, millions of people were given the knowledge of the Goa'uld invasion and were told what to do, in case the Goa'uld were able to reach -Noir- territory. Chancellor Keiji sat at his desk, which was now littered with CDs and other mediums of digital information, in addition to his piles of homework and school textbooks. General Ambrose, General Augustine, Admiral Hajime, and Colonel Campbell enter Keiji's office, inside the Chancellory.

Keiji: Good evening gentlemen...So...What are we going to do about this Goa'uld...

Augustine: I propose that we do nothing...And stay on a homeland defensive...We should let those other nations take care of the bulk of the Goa'ulds and we just take out whatever alien reaches our doorstep...We minimize the loss of our people...

Ambrose: Augustine! That's absurd!!! We know that only a few nations have answered the call to directly meet the Goa'uld force face-to-face! They can't handle it alone! We must send some forces to back...Hey, Campbell...What were the other nations?

Campbell: Hmmm...Let me think...Vi20, Brandoniats, Central Facehuggeria, Rhinarans, Kanuckistan, Green Storm...I think that's it...

Ambrose: See...only 6 nations...They alone might not be able to decimate the enemies by themselves...We need to fight alongside them...We must also look for some of our allies willing to help us...

Augustine: Now...Ambrose...How are we going to accomplish this then? What should we throw against these Goa'uld?

Hajime: We can try out Vector's Rhinemaidens...I know the Woglinde is operational...

Augustine: The Rhinemaidens!?!? We can't!!! They are still experimental...And we don't know the full power of them...They still haven't been field tested!

Hajime: Then this would provide us a opportunity to field test them...

Augustine: No...We spent too much money on it already...We run the risk of lossing it in battle...And the Woglinde...The only reason it is space-able is because we just attached a makeshift logic-drive on it...Vector hasn't even debugged the vessel's systems...

Hajime: But its weapons systems are...

Augustine: Fully operational? Yea, right...On paper, its weapons work...But during the last five test runs, the weapons didn't turn up a hint of success...

Ambrose: We can send the Durandal...And that for sure, we know is fully operational...

Hajime: But, it is still undergoing repairs...

Ambrose: When is it going to be finished?

Hajime: About a week or so...We are updating its shields and revamping the "ram."

Ambrose: Hajime...What other vessels do we have in the fleet are ready to go?

Hajime: Hmmm...We can try send in the Nadesico Series in...We just finished upgrading the entire series this past week...Hmmm...I'll have to check if we have any other available vessels...The Goa'uld picked a bad time to attack...With more than half our fleet in the docks...

Ambrose: I see...But lets ask the Chancellor...

Keiji: Huh? Me?

Keiji had seemed to have dozed off while the three men argued. Colonel Campbell was able to sneak out of the room.

Keiji: I honestly believe that we must do what we can to prevent the Goa'uld from even coming close to the Earth...You do know that Second Miltia is still in Earth orbit...And the Durandal is undergoing repairs...The only way we can get Second Miltia out of the Goa'uld's path is to dock the Durandal with Second Miltia, it is its only propulsion source...We must send what ships we can to combat the Goa'uld...Or atleast hold them off, until we move Second Miltia to a safer location...

Hajime: I agree with the Chancellor...

Ambrose: Same here...

Augustine: Yes...You've got a point...

Ambrose: I doubt that the other nations would want to defend Second Miltia...

Keiji: We should have our fleets stationed around the immediate perimeter around Earth...We'll be the last barrier, protecting Earth, if all the other nations fail...Now...You guys better get to work...Time is of the essence!

Ambrose, Augustine, & Hajime: Affirmative, sir!

The three men file out of the room. Keiji sighs and returns to his homework

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Several hours later, a small flotilla of vessels arrive in Second Miltia's orbit. They form a protective barrier around the lone space station. Another fleet then is ordered to partrol around the Earth and secure a perimeter of 2 Astronomical Units radii.

A sudden flurry of activity started up at the Dominion Central Command as various Dominion sensor networks around the Sol System picked up on six ha'tak class Goa'uld vessels entering the system at sublight speed. On two of the giant screens mounted high up on the walls were visuals of the approaching Goa'uld ships, while other screens continued displaying other vital information pertaining to the attack.

"This is wrong," Admiral Varel said with a shake of her head. She watched the visual recording of the enemy fleet on the screens, eyebrows furrowed and mouth twisted in a frown. "That cannot be all that the Goa'uld are offering."

She turned to a communications personnel and said, "Get Admiral Tallus on a secured channel. I wish to speak with him."

Tallus appeared on a console screen near her. "Ma'am."

"Admiral," Varel began, "have the Central Facehuggeria and Brandoniats fleets intercept the six Goa'uld motherships at the fringe of Sol. Their combined forces should almost be enough to match the Goa'uld. Make sure everyone else stays at the given coordinates; I do not want them running off to fight this Goa'uld fleet. I have a feeling things are not as they appear."

"Aye, ma'am."

"Varel out."

The woman turned to another officer close to her. "Assemble the rest of the landed vessels. I want them in space and with the rest of the armada within the hour."

BTW, you do realise an Astronimical Unit is the average distance between the earth and the sun, right? That would place your patroling fleet way, way far away from Earth.

Fleet Commander McDuff had a lot of problems, the least of which wasn't the Goa'uld.
"Dispatch Akagi flight, intercept those Motherships, right now!"
On screen, the 6 pyramid-shaped vessels traveled at high speed towards Earth. On a smaller display beside his left arm, a tactical program outlined the weaknesses of the ships. Not many. However, all indications pointed to their ventral surfaces being woefully unarmed compared to the dorsal. In light of this, all the Federation attacks would be aimed at the ventral surface. Also, the center pyramid structure could be detached to make a landing. That meant the connections between it and the outer sections might not be as strong as the rest of the armor. It wasn't much, but it was a chance.
_________________________________________________________
A few minutes later, the Akiras arrived within sight of the Motherships. Energy blasts streaked out from the Goa'uld monsters, but a lot of it went wild. The Akiras would wait to close range, and carve them up phasers. Captain Marcus, of the Akagi, was trembling in his chair.
"Tactical, full spread! Fire!!!"
From each of the ship's 15 torpedo launchers, a shimmering missile streaked out. Most were a crimson gold glow, photon torpedoes, but four of the torpedoes were special. They glowed a brilliant white. Quantum torpedoes, with nearly twice the yield of the photon torpedo. Matter and anitmatter were mixed in their warheads, just waiting to come into contact for a rather large bang. 26 isotons for the photons, and 52 for the quantums, specifically.

A passing soldier, of apparent low rank, seemed a prime target.

"Excuse me, could you help me lift this?"

He was referring to the large crate at his feet. He didn't know what was in it, but he needed something to bring the soldier over.

"Thank you very much, Just grab that end and lift on three. I need to finish loading these before we lift off."

As the soldier bent over to pick up the crate he strode forward, wrapping has arms around the victim and placing his mouth near the back of the other mans neck.

"This will only take a moment."

A few seconds later and the soldier walked forward, approaching the ship with his body no longer under his own control.

He stepped out of the device and looked over at his two guards standing at the door, both with a Chinese character tattooed to their foreheads.

"Jaffa, kree," he said as he passed by them on his way to the bridge. The two guards filed in behind him as ordered, flanking his sides all the way to the control center of the mothership, where their god sat down at in an exquisite throne near the middle of the room.

The window at the front of the bridge showed a bluish tunnel of light, a clear indication that they were still traveling in hyperspace. But the time to enter regular space was drawing near.

Interested parties recieved the following letter:

Green Storm Incorporated is glad to say that due to your investments in our Earth Defense Program we have moved well ahead with the production of our attack fleet. We have created nearly 500 attack droids and deployed them into space. This is largely due to private investments and other corporate intersests.

However, we have fallen far short of our possible 2000 attack craft. While support from private organizations has been exceptional, the turn out of national government investments has been disappointing at best. If you have not used this opportunity to convert your economic power to hope for mankind, we ask you to consider again the possiblity of investing in Green Storm Inc's Earth Defense Program.

You may also wish to know that a winner has been selected in the craft naming competition. Details will be delievered seperately when all legal and prize issues have been resolved. We can tell you the new name of our attack craft though. We officially christen the Green Storm Inc Earth Defense Program attack craft as "Hope Stormers". This name follows in the company tradition of similiar naming around the "Green Storm" trademark, while expressing the crafts role in Earths hope for survival in this dark era.

Once again, we ask you to consider investing in the creation of Hope Stormers to put as much fight to the Goa'uld as Earth can muster.

Not far from the defense's meeting point, a transport craft hurtles unpowered through space. When the assembled allied fleets come into clear view the ship suddenly sputters to life, chemical boosters begining to fire. The ship attempts to slow itself relative to the fleet, but doesn't have any fuel in it's main boosters, having used the last of it accelerating on the trip here. The captain was worried they wouldn't make it on time. He and his two crew had probably made the right choice, since HQ had reported that some of the defense fleet was either moving or about to move. The 3 breathed a sigh of relief when they realized they had arrived on time.

The maneuvering jets fired wildly. A last minute order is given, and the jets come to life with new purpose, changeing corse slightly, it nudges towards the VSV-Gralla. In a last ditch effort, the ship rolls over, facing the emptied fuel cells and useless main boosters at the massive Stormkeeper battlecruiser. Completely dwarfed by the 6.5k long ship, the tiny transport braces for impact. The captain of the ship, Kosctcha Kalashnikov, quickly opens a wide spectrum comm channel.

In a thick russian accent, all he has to say is:

"Sorry. No brakes."

The cloaked Dominion probes kept a watchful eye on the Goa'uld motherships at the edge of the system, making sure to keep their distance. The Dominion Intelligence had reason to believe that Anubis had cloak-busting technology. Granted, Dominion cloaks were much more advanced than most cloaks other nations of comparable technological levels could field, but it was better to be safe than sorry. Other probes were watching the Brandoniats and Central Facehuggeria fleets making their way toward the Goa'uld fleet of six ships.

Suddenly, the klaxons at the Dominion Central Command went off as the system-wide sensor net immediately picked up on five more Goa'uld vessels blinking into existence from hyperspace tunnels.

Meanwhile, out in space...

Admiral Tallus was just receiving the latest update from Central Command when a flying tin can came hurtling into the midst of the gathering defensive forces. He watched the Green Storm vessel from the viewscreen mounted at the front of his cloaked capital ship. A frown was growing on his face. "Report!"

"The vessel uses chemical propulsion engines," answered the personnel at Ops. "They appear to have run out of fuel and are incapable of slowing their approach. Impact with the VSV-Gralla is imminent."

The admiral sighed. "What do they think they're doing here? Let them save themselves. We have more important matters to handle."

"Sir?" the Ops officer said. "You should see this."

Tallus took the few step over to the Ops console and looked over the sensor readout of the Green Storm vessel. "Now that's interesting..." he muttered.

Sergeant Palteth needed to get everything loaded up and good to go in ten minutes or his superiors would not have been very happy with him. When one of the workers asked for his help, he wondered where all of the other workers were - not to mention the antigrav platforms. However, there was no time to worry about that right now, he had to help get the crate to where it needed to be before the supplementary ships launched.

As he went to lift the crate, the worker seized him. His first reaction was that of surprise, but the instinct to fight soon kicked in. But it was too late. He felt a sharp pain at the base of his neck as something burrowed through his flesh.

Unable to control himself, he found himself boarding the frigate that was to dock directly with Admiral Tallus' capital ship once it reached the main Dominion fleet.

The ash'rak sat in his cabin, contemplating his possible course of action. A well place explosive would destroy the bridge; eliminating the Commander of the fleet in opposition to the Goa'uld. However, the ship would still be capable of combat and there would be men ready to take the leaders place. Engine sabotage could cause an explosion large enough to destroy numerous ships, but that would only be effective if they were extremely close.

He walked to the window (or whatever is the equivelant on Rhinaran ships) and gazed out into space. This would take much time and cunning. Fortunately, he had much of both.

On millions of screens across Rhinara, millions of pairs of eyes watched as the Dominion News Network's symbol rotated several times before shrinking into a corner. A news marquee scrolled along the bottom, but no one was paying any attention to that.

The recorded footage showed dozens of small ships, ranging in size from two-man fighters to frigates, lifting vertically off the ground. Their dull, black hulls managing to resist reflecting the glaring desert sun as ship after ship launched off from their landing position with barely any disturbance to the sand below. They rose up into the sky before each of them disappeared within a cloaking field.

After half a minute of this, the image switched to an anchorman in a suit. "You have just been watching the Dominion supplementary armada lifting off from its base to join the main armada in the fight against the Goa'uld. This story and more in tonight's edition of the Dominion Prime Time News."

Some background music started up and images of various newscasters from the show flashed by as the intro played through. Once that was finished, the camera focused on an anchorwoman. "Good evening, I'm Donna Cordovus. Our top story tonight: as you're all aware, Dominion Intelligence was able to discern the Goa'uld invasion before the enemy could launch a sneak attack upon this world. This allowed us to prepare for such an assault, which has now begun."

The view shifted to a Dominion spy probe's visual recording of Anubis' and Cronos' fleet exiting hyperspace at the edge of the solar system. "The Goa'uld, a parasitical race using humans as hosts, began their invasion from the outskirts of Sol. The ships that you see on your screen are their ha'tak-class motherships, comparable to Dominion capital warbirds. So far, we have received reports of fleets from Central Facehuggeria and the Federation of Brandoniats aiding us in our effort to defend the planet from these aliens."

The image now changed to a view of the capitol of Rhinara, a city of twilight, under a perpetual layer of clouds. Various military crafts were flying patrol patterns around the city. "Defensive measures here in the homeland have increased in light of the incoming attack. These are merely standard procedures and there is no need for alarm, as Admiral Varel herself has stated that the Goa'uld will not likely get past our armadas and the good men and women serving aboard those ships. They are truly bringing honor and glory to the Dominion."

Massive bay doors slid open, making the only break in the otherwise unbroken field of blackness. The frigate maneuvered inside the docking bay, passing through atmospheric shields, and landed. The bay doors began to slide shut again as a hatch on the frigate opened up.
