Hshire,
I agree, seems more like a small cruiser if anything.

who really cares what its classed as the point is its a ship of the line and besides if i called it a cruiser some other person would speak up and say that it has to many guns to be a missile cruiser.

anyway i thought i'd make a mix between both so it could still be deadly at long range and be even worse at short range

Hamptonshire has designed destroyers with better armament.

The picture you showed (although a box, properties shows URL) looks a lot like an old version that I remember reading the Candians and UK had, I still say a cruiser, maybe a mini-War Ship, (ex of a big war ship: Kirov)

But not to lay heavy on yeh, no offence or anything

[My Gaea (aka Centaur) class DDGNs are almost twice the displacement and have four times the armament. Mind you, the Gaea could be classed as a Destroyer Leader, but I don't have anything smaller so they get stuck as destroyers.]

[Displacement's too low for the armament you're claiming. You have a battlecruiser armament with a destroyer displacement, which doesn't add up.]

Actually, it looks more like a heavy cruiser's armament (with those eight inch guns).

Bump that displacement up to about 30-35,000 tons and the guns to at least 14 inches and you have a battlecruiser.
