The cheapest, best carrier that can be supplied with a full crew and airwing will be bought. 10 of them. They need to be new, hold at least 85 airplanes, and be nuclear.

The top designs will be listed here....and I will buy them on the spot for immediate delivery.

Happy auctioning.

Your best bet is to go look for any naval ship threads that are selling Charles De Gaulle-class carriers. They are the newest nuclear powered aircraft carriers and they are a great value.

I would suggest visiting the HDC's carrier section (http://s4.invisionfree.com/The_Unforgiven_Board/index.php?showtopic=343) for all your aircraft carrier needs. The two of them there should be more than suitable for your needs.

How do you plan on paying for 10 aircraft carriers?

Lest you relegate yourself to the "st00p1d n00b" category, look at your population.

14 million isn't enough to support one nuclear carrier, the US (real life) at 250-300 million can only afford 12 after all. Check the navies of some RL countries and the following threads (sorry, can't remember how to put in links):

Look at France, they have about 60 million people and they have one nuclear-powered aircraft carrier. England has about the same population as them and they plan on building two nuclear-powered aircraft carriers, if I am correct, with the possibility of France have some role in the project.
Light-red Germany, I wouldn't worry about the others say, before you know it your nation will more then likely surpass that population number, which will more then justify you having a nuclear-powered carrier.

He can perhaps afford one or two, but only at an extreme cost to his military and economy and he definitely can't afford ten. Carriers cost around $5-6 billion USD on average and that isn't even counting the air wing or the crew pay or the food or the fuel for the aircraft or the munitions or the usual repairs or the training costs, etc etc etc. Having just one will be pushing it and it will basically keep him from spending any money on the rest of his military for a fiscal year.

The UK is buying two conventionally powered carriers and there is some concern, with all the defence cuts, whether the RN can afford both of them still. Nuclear increases costs markedly, especially with the problematic CdG design (reactor shielding problems, propeller problems, deck extensions required). Best to go conventional and small in the short term, something like a Dédalo, Invincible, or Giuseppe Garibaldi, and those are pretty darn expensive once you factor in aircraft and escorts....

$2,200,000,000 for Kidd Class Destroyers.
$1,500,000,000 for Capitol Class Cruisers.

You have a vaild point right there. Having a nuclear-powered carrier is a big risk on many scales and not all nations are suited to have one.
Also, not every nation is exactly interested in obtaining one either.
I think in the near future, once electron-powered aircraft carriers are built, nuclear carriers will become a thing of the past.
The United States Navy is working on a project called DD21. Its a new class of naval destroyers that operate on electricty-based energy.
This means that the ship's attack and defense systems will operate seperately from the engine and propulsion units. This means that the crew will be able to channel the energy throughout the ship without having to concentrate all its power on firing its missles or guns or just keeping the ship afloat. The new system will allow the ships to multi-task.
