WMD for Sale (semi-futuretech)

Dontgonearthere
30-05-2004, 18:21
As you may know Dontgonearthere produces one of the largest non-unique ships in the Universe, the Piledriver Planetbuster, at about twenty and one half miles long and mounting enough guns to take on two and three quarter planets by itself its hugely expensive, with only nineteen in existance (Counting two under construction and five sold to other countries), they are enourmosly expensive.
A recent budget shortfall in what is commonly refered to by PDY designers as the 'expensive' stage, IE: The construction/placement of the ships engines, power-cores and GC-5000 planetbuster lasers, which accounts for about a third of the cost of the ship.
To make up this budget shortfall Dontgonearthere is releasing some of its newer WMD into the market for discount prices.

Some notes:
Will not sell to nations under one hundred million UNLESS they have a VERY good RP record, background checks will be performed.
Members of Caucasian Guam, hit the 'back' button now.

Whats for Sale:
Superweapns:
The Dessicator

DGNTs personaly developed weapons of mass destruction:
The Dessicator works by shearing the hydrogen molocules off of the oxygen molocules in water. These two elements then combust due to the energy released by the reaction, the reaction continues until all water on a planet is consumed, including that which is currently inside living beings, or until it is stopped by a solid barrier.
The unit is deployed from orbit around the planet, it then powers up, taking roughly five minutes to build up a charge suffcient to fire, it then triggers an overload through the main firing crystal, which explodes, the energy is channeled downward, and once it comes in contact with the surface of the planet, triggers its chain reaction.
The estimated time for the reaction to consume a planet of roughly Earth size is one hour. The weapon is obviously somewhat less effective against non-oxygen based worlds, but still has some effect, though it may not consume the entire planet.

All desicator units are fitted with self destruct devices, if any is brought within five thosand miles (The maximum Dessicator range is 500 miles) it self destructs, any tampering with the device will also result in destruction. The device will also detonate if brought within 5000 miles of any DGNT Empire world.
The device does not work well on ships, since they are fairly well sealed against the void ;)

COST:
2.5 Trillion GLAcreds per unit.

GC-5000 Ultra-heavy laser

THe mile long cannons mounted on Piledrivers, have enough force behind them to crack a planets crust, rendering it uninhabitable. For maximum destruction, position one to each pole, and one on each 'side' of the planet at 90 degree angles, on a (non-NS) Earth, this would spilt the planet in half, and kill its entire population.
Cannons can be mounted on ships, or come as a 'ship' themselves, with mounted engine and navigation shields.
Price: 700,000,000 per unit
+500,000 for engine/generator/navigation shields

Nukes:
All DGNT nuclear weapons have blocks to render them useless while in DGNT. These can, of course, be removed, but you had better be damn good at it, since the anti-tampering device does not give warnings.

Standard Plutonium warhead, avalible in multi-warhead or single-warhead configurations. DGNT nuclear weapons over 50 megatons will not detonate within 100mi of Earth.
Price: 25 million per megaton (max 2 Gigaton (2000 Megatons))

Suitcase nukes:
Really small nukes, about the same destructive force as a Hiroshima type bomb. Weighs about fourty pounds and is equipped with X-ray/Thermal imaging blocks. Note that extensive exposure to the suitcase may cause radiation burns, cancer and/or death.
Price: 50,000,000 per case.

Nuclear artillary shells:
A bit larger than a Suitcase nuke, but more powerful and cheaper to produce. These have lead-lined outer casings, so radiation exposure is minimal.
Price: G2,500,000 per shell

Nuclear cruise missile:
Basicaly an artillary shell with a rocket and a computer/guidance system. Payload up to 500kt.
Price: G10,000,000

Anti-Nuclear Missile-Missile
Designed to intercept and destroy ICBMs above the atmosphere and destroy them without detonation. Includes 1 missile and 1 launcher which can be mounted on a vehicle or set up independantly. In groups of over 100 the system has about 50-60 percent hit rate when launching an equal number of AMMs.
Price: G25,000,000.

Bobbies first Thermonuclear warhead kit:
Detailed instructions on how to make various types of atomic weapons, such as Suitcase nukes, normal nukes, and micronuke artillary shells. The kit does not contain any nuclear material or tools for construction.
100,000

Other:
Anti-matter bomb:
Think 'Next-gen nuke', small amounts of anti-matter make big explosions.
A 35gt Amatter bomb requires its own ship to move it around, I suggest you dont buy them. The same rules apply that apply to nukes control Amatter bombs. The powerful bombs will not detonate within range of Earth, and not at all in DGNT. A side note:
Amatter bombs DO NOT generate fallout, though the explosion kicks up lots of dust, little can be found INSIDE the blast radius, since all the matter in the area ceases to exist.
Price: G50,000,000 per megaton, up to 35 gigatons.

Singularity Generator:
Creates a small portal to a black hole. The portal is open for about 1/2 second, enough time to suck in most objects within a hundred meter radius and cause some pretty nasty damage to those outside it.
Cost: G1,000,000,000 for a ten-use weapon.

Maybe update later.

Sorry Beetle, your population is only 36 million, I cant sell.
At a minimum, contact me when your at fifty million with an example of a GOOD RP youve done.
Ill will consider selling you a 50kt or under nuke or two.

No offence, but that isnt exactly a good RP.
Check out some of the other war threads, the non-n00bish ones, for some examples of a proper war.
If the Third Kyrr War turns out OK take a look at it in NationStates (the forum)

Hmm...We have several questions about the piledriver weapon:

1. How much power does the thing take?
2. Can it be fitted to ships that are 4 kilometers long?
3. Can we get it with a built in generator, so it doesn't have to leech power off of the main ship?
Dontgonearthere
31-05-2004, 03:32
1. Lots. Its (if you watch StarWars) basicaly like one of the small-lasers making up the big Death Star laser ;).
They each have their own genrator, since the powerdrain would shut the entire ship down (even on a Piledriver) and destroy some of the sensitive electronics.
2. Yup. The gun itself is one mile long, the generator is large enough that you would have to remove quite a bit of stuff from the ship, most of its weapons would be removed, and it would be pretty slow due to the added mass.
3. See number one ;)

What I meant by 2 was "Can I bolt it onto the bottom of the ship specifically so that I don't have to remove any other weapons." I'd like a big death ray, but I don't want to have just the death ray, if you catch my meaning.

Then yes, but it would mean adding space for the generator.

Okay. I'll take one GC-5000 planet buster laser with reactor assembly (no engines please). Please deliver it to the following location: *coordies for Chimera shipyards sent*

We shall wire the money upon confirmation of the order *money will autowire to DGNT accounts*

Done.
Be advised that a full charge (IE: Planetkilling) takes five minutes, and that the weapon should be allowed to cool after each shot.
This doesnt take long, since space abosrbs heat pretty well, but firing constant weak shots CAN cause parts to overheat.

10 Nuclear artillary shells
50 Nuclear cruise missile
2 Bobbies first Thermonuclear warhead kit

Would people please do their own math, I am not currently in the presence of a decent caclulator, all I have is the 'Maximum eight charecters' variety, and those dont work well for international economics.

Ohh, I'm not planning on using it on planets. :) There are some super star destroyers that I want crushed.

Total comes to 700,500,000 (The weapon + the generator.)

Id like to buy 20 GC-5000 With the whole engien gen assembly. Also is there anyway I can mount one on a planet and if I can how much will it effect warm up time and cool down time?

I belive my bills around 16,000,000,000 not shure I dont have a calculator
Dontgonearthere
31-05-2004, 16:30
Done Moviewatcher.

Mounting one on a planet will most likely increase the cool down time since planets tend to be warmer than space and dont abosorb heat was well.
My suggestion would be to mount a cooling system and keep everybody at least 200 yards away when the thing fires.
