Check it out (scroll down past the Centaur): http://www.freewebs.com/freethinker1984/majorsurfacecombatants.htm

Basically, this version has impoved self-defense capabilities, more versatile weapons, and sufficient armour to resist the more common SSMs in service today. Go buy...now!

Sarzonia would like to order one for testing and evaluation purposes.

We would also like to order two of the Centaur-class destroyers. At $2,975 billion each, that total should come to $5.95 billion. (OOC: They look like they'd qualify as cruisers.)

The grand total for this order should come to $7.25 billion.

Money will be wired upon confirmation.

Thank you for your consideration of our order.

OOC: Jim, you have profit numbers from this month? (May 5th-27th) And nice upgrade there, like always :)

"Order confirmed. The evaluation Dauntless class will be delivered in 2 years time. The two Centaur class ships will be delivered in 4 years time. We await your final comfirmation of the order."

OOC: Yeah, technically they would be cruisers by size and capability, but because they lack large-scale fleet coordination abilities they were downgraded to destroyers.

And I don't usually use them as traditional destroyers either. I generally tend to set them loose to hunt down fleets of conventional designs and sink them without risking my larger capital assets. Old style surface raiders, as it were. Good choice. :D

We note that the upgrades you make to the Daring Class platform are significant, we are interested in upgrading twelve(12) Daring Class ships.

Due to the scale of work, value of the contract and mandatory paperwork we shall await your response. Estimates on time would be greatly appreciated.

"With regards to your request, we would be able to take batches of three warships to be refitted over 18 months. Assuming no delays, the work could be completed in a total of six years time."

"Total payment for the upgrades would be priced at $6,000,000,000 US Dollars. This would have be paid in full by the completion of the last batch of warship upgrades."

A most acceptable timeframe, however assurances would need to be laid out in the contract for deadlines to be met. It is now standard practice in our defence contracts to require fixed penalties to be set if work falls unacceptably behind schedule.

Typical penalties are a three percent cost reduction, individual to each ship not the overall contract, if work falls behind by three-four months. Should work fall behind further the penalty is raised to twelve percent of the total contract.

Of course such penalties would need to be mutually agreed upon before any steps to sign a contract could be made.

"Those penalty terms seem reasonable, and we will accept them into the contract."

"One other point of note is that this upgraded weapon carries an Electro-Thermal-Chemical NGS as its principle artillery weapon. If you do not use this technology, we can change this to the 155mm AGS if you so wish at no extra charge."

We are glad to be bringing this negotiation to an end so quickly, the use of Electro-Thermal-Chemical NGS is indeed unrequired and the alternative provided would be more suitable.

Freethinker Defense Industries are hereby commissioned to begin the upgrades of twelve(12) Daring Class destroyers to the Dauntless configuration. The upgrades are to be conducted on batches of three ships at a time, each batch lasting eighteen (18) months. With the total contract not lasting more than six years.
Total contract value is to be $6,000,000,000 US Dollars, the final amount to of been paid in full by completion of the last batch of warship upgrades.

Agreed penalties are as follows; if work falls behind schedule by three-four months a three percent cost-reduction will be made to each ship behind schedule.
If work falls behind schedule by a greater amount a cost-reduction of twelve percent upon the total contract will be made
