Gosselania

While we initially commited 45,000 combat troops to help defend FWS, the troops are now being withdrawn.
We made the commitment because Gosselania needs allies, plain and simple. We live in a region with a very uneasy peace, and we are constantly under threat of invasion from two superpower neighbours. Allies to pledge support in a time of such crisis would have been a great help. As such, we hoped to gain the support of FWS.
Unfortunately, the situation degenerated into nuclear exchanges and the government decided it was not worth losing a large Division for a cause that we did not believe in. Our diplomacy would be put to better use elsewhere.
Only two battalions in the entire 1 Mobile Division saw any combat, and suffered light casualties. The evacuation of the troops began early this morning aboard Imperial Gosselin Air Force C-150 (Boeing 777) aircraft. The two squadrons of our Expeditionary Air Wing will return with the last C-150 flight.
