ATTN: Enemies of the Empire (SR Coalition)

The ShaRa
29-05-2004, 03:01
It has been near a centry since this blood bath began. A struggle for position, technology, resources, and the ultimate reward of oppression. Ninety-seven years ago, we discovered a small planetary system rich in resources and minerials. We called it the GZNRII System. Upon entering the system, we discovered several inhabited planets and a wormhole. The people of this system were primitive at best. It was through our technology and via our spacecraft, that this system of planets became united and ultimately elected a single spokesperson for their system. This man was known only by his race and not his name...Zoarg.

We thought that things were under control as we traded heavyley with the Zoarg Empire. But, the young civilizations advanced to quickly. Soon they rejected us and dismissed all that we did for them. We thought that would of acted more mature, not like a bunch of children on a druken binge. As their capabilities for space travel improved, so did the risk of our unarmed trading vessels. It was then, we opted for military protection of our ships...but the Zoarg saw it as "positioning" for invasion.

It was now time...the Zoarg had challenged us. The young, unexperianced "army" of the Zoarg was delt with in one foul swoop of the Empire's Fleets. Within 1 year "ALL" the Zoarg controled planets were free of traffic. With the positioning of several bases and constant oppression of our mighty forces...they soon crumbled and one by one the planets came into our control, while the populases were enslaved. However, one small fleet managed to escape and make their way to Sol.

30 Years ago, we met what concenquence we deserved by allowing that small fleet to escape. While in Sol..the Zoarg gathered allies to support whatever lie he told them about us. Soon these fleets of Sol, returned and began to take back planets of the Zoarg. It has been that way ever since. First with the fall of Siesana, then GhHari, then Ironeia. Just as they were conqured...they fell...We have now been fighting a hopeless cause, and relize their will be no end until the fighting discontinues. We can no longer afford to "Sneak" behind the lines in effort to gather food and supplies. Our soldiers and ships are exhusted and our numbers diminishing. Therefore,

Official Communication Empire Command

Sorry Doujin, afraid you caught the tail end of a very long war that started in Sept. last year. He had no choice, we pounded him into submission.

OOC: Well, if we could have wetn through with that RP I doubt that you could have pounded him into submisesion as well as you have now.

OOC: It's over, the lady with a slight weight problem harmonised "Il Trovatore". It's over.

IC: "Yes, as the head of Space Command, I get the enviable task of keeping the peace there. But no, I don't know what the policy will be. Next question?" Admiral Dan 'Nicky' Nichols was a shock to the assembled reporters at Adejaani's capital. Used to seeing fit, lean and powerful men and women in uniform... The collective gasp when Nichols walked into the room was indicative of that. Aged in his late fifties, a hulking five foot six, close cropped hair receding, a round face perched almost directly on the shoulders and three chins ready to spawn a fourth, he was anything but what was imagined the ideal military officer, much less a hero of war.

"But as the head of Space Command, as you just said, wouldn't you get a hand in dictating or at least advising the policy and peace initiatives?" The female reporter pressed.

Nichols opened his mouth to answer, again squinting into the lights when there was a commotion. His former superior officer and now his Commander in Chief, replaced him at the podium after a heartfelt hug.

"Ladies and gentlemen, thank you. For those of you who don't know me, I'm Jaina Granger. Formerly, I was this gentleman's boss. I used to be an Admiral, Fleet Commander of the Adejaani Space Forces and one of the architects of victory. With the Sha'Ra now out of the picture and with the urging of everyone, I am now President of Adejaani, having been elected last month and sworn in a few hours ago. With that, I'll take your questions." Granger smiled and pointed to a man in the third row.

"Madam President, Greg Stanley, Adejaani Picayune. Just what will the Coalition be seeking from the Sha'Ra surrender?"

Granger nodded slowly before framing her reply. "Well, Greg, I can't speak for the other members of the Coalition. However, Adejaani seeks only a general demilitarisation. We're not out to wage a war of annihilation against the Sha'Ra. We'll settle for taking their ships and other technology and studying it. It's always been Adejaani policy of self determination and self governance. So long as they can't make war against us, we'll let them do whatever they want, basically. Next?"

A petite asian woman then stood. "Madam President, Connie Lee, Network News, what are your feelings regarding the Sha'Ra's actions, such as their surrender and just simply giving up after all these years of conflict? I mean that, madam President, as a President, an Admiral and as a person."

Granger pursed her lips. "Well, Connie, I have to be honest. As an Admiral, we were doing alright, but it was scary. They had more ships and troops than we did. They also didn't have to worry so much about personal lives or morale or keeping fit and entertained. For most of the conflict, we were really stretching our boys and girls in uniform. They kept going because they knew we were fighting a good cause, but the fact was, even that only goes so far if you're completely exhausted and couldn't even see what's in front of you.

"I constantly worried about that. I tried as much as I could to give people time off, see friends and family and to relax and unwind. The Sha'Ra were ruthless and we lost quite a fair few people because they simply weren't aware or alert enough to spot the oncoming danger.

"As a President, I have to be a bit wary. Such as, for example, the Second Battle of Siesana, they had millions of warriors under the surface ready to pop up and consume everyone. We beat them off, of course. As President, I'll be placing safeguards and trying to ensure that, if they really do want peace, it really does happen and that we won't wake up with Sha'Ra claws flashing before our eyes.

"For me, personally and I think I echo the sentiments of everyone, at least in the Adejaani forces, when I say that it was our job, you know. Yeah, you get shot at, might get wounded, might die, but we wanted to do this. We stuck our right hand into the air, swore an oath, did the training, put on the uniform and took up arms in defense of our nation, allies and ideals. Nobody once complained or whined or anything. As Shakespeare once put it, 'Be bold, bloody and resolute'. That's probably my final word on that. Now please, excuse me, I'm very busy..."

A sandy haired man stood up in the front row. "Madam President! One last question please!" Granger nodded. "Ma'am, Jack Holly, Ticonderoga Herald. Do you regret leaving command of the Adejaani Forces to become President? Or rather, what prompted you to become President, after years of people practically begging you to do so?"

Granger paused and looked uneasily. "Well, we did draft and pass a law, saying that if there was a definite need, I'd step down as President, become reactivated and take up arms again. There's a lot of good people, though. Admiral Nichols, on my left, for example, is more than capable. I didn't go willingly, though. However, citizens started echoing what my own sailors, soldiers, pilots and everyone else were saying: 'Believe in us to do our jobs and we'll believe in you to do yours'. So yeah...

"Former, now Vice, President Halvent is staying on to help me with the political side, but they all agree I've got Adejaani's best interests at heart. I also know how to doggedly pursue and defend its morals and policies, so yeah... Okay, that's enough. Thank you, everyone."

"Thank you, Madam President!"

OOC:If you would like to test your theory tg me.

IC: Emperor Uganda received the news with satisfaction. The long awaited end has come. Sambizie deaths of this 30 year war is in the millions. It was also of great satisfaction to hear of the news comming out of Adejaani. Though the war is over, there is still much to do....

With the best interest of all who inhabit this system in mind, I propose an official envoy of Coalition Members, to visit the inhabited planets and repair what damage has been done, both economically and mentally. The inocent victims, who's lives were turned upside down while the ShaRa "feasted" with a vengence. We must stick to a "solid" course of action as to be determined by the Coalition members who had a defined role.

We agree to the full disarmament and de-militarizing of the SR. We further more need to secure the surrendering forces and "protect" them from any planets populas, (If applicable). We furthermore, will be utilizing The Sambizie Yards and Outpost 236, to intake surrendering SR Fleetships. I ask that permission be granted to tow to allied yards as well.

This will be a slow process and we probally won't beable to change the system overnight. However, I suggest that a long term financial goal be established for uniting this system once more. Just as we have our losses from this campaign, the suffering people of this system deserve our help. I also suggest that we proceed with caution as not to get caught up in every little rebelion on the planets.

Admiral Dan Nichols peered out the porthole of his Admiral's Cabin aboard the ANS Constellation. While it would've been a very powerful symbol to use the Fleet Flagship, she was in dock for repairs. So, he borrowed the Constellation, which was almost as good, if not as well known. Picking up the notepad in front of him, he reviewed its contents, as he was Adejaani's representative...

1: FOB (Forward Operating Base) Harriman, plus Magnia shipyards will be made available for cataloguing of Sha'Ra ships whilst demilitarisation and decisions for final fate be decided. Ships to be reverse engineered will be shipped back to Earth where more suitable facilities are located.

2a: Return and repatriation of the Adejaani Fleet to Earth, actively maintaining only two Carriers; four Cruisers; four Destroyers; one Supply vessel remaining behind. An equal number of ships shall be held 'mothballed', but kept in working condition in the Magnian Yards and FOB Harriman. Status of remainder of Earth based Adejaani Fleet will be determined at a later date.

2b: An active patrol of two Cruisers and four Destroyers to constantly monitor Sha'Ra activities and patrol the worlds.

2c: An emergency 'surge' unit consisting of four Destroyers will be maintained in case a conflict breaks out, for immediate deployment to the wormhole as needed.

2d: Setting up of listening and monitoring posts throughout the region to monitor all activities in system.

3: Willingness to financially fund, up to 50%, of reconstruction losses across the board.

4: Magnian volunteer workers, escorted by Adejaani Land Forces personnel (aka "Marines"), shall be allowed to help the Sha'Ra setting up their economy, government and whatever else they desire, if they require help.
